वैशंपायन उवाच ततः कुन्तीसुतो राजा गतमन्युर्गतज्वरः काञ्चने प्राङ्मुखो हृष्टो न्यषीदत्परमासने

Vaiśampāyana said: The king who was Kuntī's son was freed from his fever. Cheerfully, he sat down on a supreme and golden seat, facing the east.

वैशम्पायन ने कहा: राजा जो कुंती का पुत्र था, अपने ज्वर से मुक्त हो गया। वह प्रसन्नतापूर्वक पूर्व दिशा की ओर मुख करके एक सर्वोच्च एवं सुनहरे आसन पर बैठ गया।

तमेवाभिमुखौ पीठे सेव्यास्तरणसंवृते सात्यकिर्वासुदेवश्च निषीदतुररिंदमौ

Sātyaki and Vāsudeva, the scorchers of enemies, were seated on a seat facing him and it was strewn with expensive coverings.

शत्रुओं को झुलसाने वाले सात्यकि और वासुदेव उसके सामने एक आसन पर बैठे थे और उस पर बहुमूल्य आवरण बिखरे हुए थे।

मध्ये कृत्वा तु राजानं भीमसेनार्जुनावुभौ निषीदतुर्महात्मानौ श्लक्ष्णयोर्मणिपीठयोः

With the king between them, the great-souled Bhīmā and Arjuna were seated on soft seats decorated with gems.

राजा के साथ, महाबली भीम और अर्जुन रत्नों से सुसज्जित मुलायम आसन पर बैठे थे।

दान्ते शय्यासने शुभ्रे जाम्बूनदविभूषिते पृथापि सहदेवेन सहास्ते नकुलेन च

Pṛthā, with Nākula and Sahadeva, was seated on a sparkling seat that was made out of ivory and decorated with gold.

पृथा, नकुल और सहदेव के साथ, एक चमचमाते आसन पर बैठी थी जो हाथीदांत से बना था और सोने से सजाया गया था।

सुधर्मा विदुरो धौम्यो धृतराष्ट्रश्च कौरवः निषेदुर्ज्वलनाकारेष्वासनेषु पृथक्पृथक्

Sudharmā, Vidūra, Dhaumya and Kaurava Dhṛtarāṣṭra were seated on separate seats and seemed to blaze.

सुधर्मा, विदुर, धौम्य और कौरव धृतराष्ट्र अलग-अलग सीटों पर बैठे थे और तेजस्वी लग रहे थे।

युयुत्सुः संजयश्चैव गान्धारी च यशस्विनी धृतराष्ट्रो यतो राजा ततः सर्व उपाविशन्

Yuyutsu, Sañjaya and the illustrious Gāndhārī sat down where King Dhṛtarāṣṭra was seated.

युयुत्सु, संजय और यशस्वी गांधारी वहीं बैठ गये जहाँ राजा धृतराष्ट्र बैठे थे।

तत्रोपविष्टो धर्मात्मा श्वेताः सुमनसोऽस्पृशत् स्वस्तिकानक्षतान्भूमिं सुवर्णं रजतं मणीन्

Seated there, with dharma in his soul, the king cheerfully touched the white flowers, the svastika signs, the unhusked grain, the ground, gold, silver and jewels.

वहां बैठे हुए, अपनी आत्मा में धर्म के साथ, राजा ने खुशी-खुशी सफेद फूल, स्वस्तिक चिन्ह, बिना छिलके वाला अनाज, जमीन, सोना, चांदी और रत्नों को छुआ।

ततः प्रकृतयः सर्वाः पुरस्कृत्य पुरोहितम् ददृशुर्धर्मराजानमादाय बहु मङ्गलम्

With the priest at the forefront, all the ordinary people came to see Dharmarāja. They brought many auspicious objects with them—

सबसे आगे पुजारी के साथ, सभी सामान्य लोग धर्मराज के दर्शन के लिए आये। वे अपने साथ बहुत-सी शुभ वस्तुएँ लाए थे-

पृथिवीं च सुवर्णं च रत्नानि विविधानि च आभिषेचनिकं भाण्डं सर्वसंभारसंभृतम्

earth, gold, many kinds of gems and all the other vessels and equipment required for the consecration.

मिट्टी, सोना, अनेक प्रकार के रत्न और अभिषेक के लिए आवश्यक अन्य सभी पात्र और उपकरण।

काञ्चनौदुम्बरास्तत्र राजताः पृथिवीमयाः पूर्णकुम्भाः सुमनसो लाजा बर्हींषि गोरसाः

There were full pots that were made out of clay, gold, copper and silver. They were filled with water, parched grain, sacrificial gras-s and milk.

वहां मिट्टी, सोने, तांबे और चांदी के बने हुए बर्तन भरे हुए थे। वे पानी, सूखे अनाज, यज्ञ की घास और दूध से भरे हुए थे।

शमीपलाशपुंनागाः समिधो मधुसर्पिषी स्रुव औदुम्बरः शङ्खास्तथा हेमविभूषिताः

There was kindling of śamī, palāśa and puṃnāga. There was honey and clarified butter. There were ladles made out of udumbara and gold-embellished conch shells.

शमी, पलाश और पुन्नाग की अग्नि जल रही थी। वहाँ शहद और घी था। वहाँ उडुम्बरा से बनी करछुलें और सोने से अलंकृत शंख थे।

दाशार्हेणाभ्यनुज्ञातस्तत्र धौम्यः पुरोहितः प्रागुदक्प्रवणां वेदीं लक्षणेनोपलिप्य ह

With Dāśārha's permission, the priest Dhaumya marked out an auspicious altar that sloped towards the north and the east.

दशार्ह की अनुमति से, पुजारी धौम्य ने एक शुभ वेदी बनाई जो उत्तर और पूर्व की ओर ढलान वाली थी।

व्याघ्रचर्मोत्तरे श्लक्ष्णे सर्वतोभद्र आसने दृढपादप्रतिष्ठाने हुताशनसमत्विषि

A soft sarvatobhadra seat with sturdy legs, covered with the skins of tigers was made.

बाघ की खाल से ढका हुआ, मजबूत पैरों वाला मुलायम सर्वतोभद्र आसन बनाया गया।

उपवेश्य महात्मानं कृष्णां च द्रुपदात्मजाम् जुहाव पावकं धीमान्विधिमन्त्रपुरस्कृतम्

The great-souled one and Kṛṣṇā, Drupada's daughter sat on it. It was as radiant as the fire.

महात्मा और द्रुपद की पुत्री कृष्णा उस पर बैठीं। वह अग्नि के समान तेजस्वी था।

अभ्यषिञ्चत्पतिं पृथ्व्याः कुन्तीपुत्रं युधिष्ठिरम् धृतराष्ट्रश्च राजर्षिः सर्वाः प्रकृतयस्तथा

The intelligent one poured oblations into the fire. Pronouncing mantra-s, he sprinkled water on Yudhiṣṭhira, Kuntī's son, instating him as the lord of the earth. So did rājarṣi Dhṛtarāṣṭra and all the ordinary people.

बुद्धिमान ने अग्नि में आहुतियाँ डालीं। उन्होंने मंत्रों का उच्चारण करते हुए कुंती पुत्र युधिष्ठिर पर जल छिड़का और उन्हें पृथ्वी का स्वामी घोषित किया। राजर्षि धृतराष्ट्र और सभी सामान्य लोगों ने भी ऐसा ही किया।

ततोऽनुवादयामासुः पणवानकदुन्दुभीः धर्मराजोऽपि तत्सर्वं प्रतिजग्राह धर्मतः

Cymbals, small drums and kettledrums were sounded. Following dharma, Dharmarāja received all this.

झांझ, छोटे ढोल और नगाड़े बजाए गए। धर्म का पालन करते हुए धर्मराज को यह सब प्राप्त हुआ।

पूजयामास तांश्चापि विधिवद्भूरिदक्षिणः ततो निष्कसहस्रेण ब्राह्मणान्स्वस्ति वाचयत् वेदाध्ययनसंपन्नाञ्शीलवृत्तसमन्वितान्

He then honoured the brāhmana-s, who pronounced benedictions on him, in the proper way and gave away large quantities of donations and one thousand golden coins. These brāhmana-s were accomplished in studying the Veda-s and of good conduct.

फिर उन्होंने उन ब्राह्मणों का उचित तरीके से सम्मान किया, जिन्होंने उन्हें आशीर्वाद दिया और बड़ी मात्रा में दान और एक हजार स्वर्ण मुद्राएँ दीं। ये ब्राह्मण वेदों के अध्ययन और अच्छे आचरण में निपुण थे।

ते प्रीता ब्राह्मणा राजन्स्वस्त्यूचुर्जयमेव च हंसा इव च नर्दन्तः प्रशशंसुर्युधिष्ठिरम्

The Brahmin-s were delighted and wished the king well. Making sounds like those of swans, they praised Yudhiṣṭhira.

ब्राह्मण प्रसन्न हुए और राजा के कल्याण की कामना की। उन्होंने हंसों के समान ध्वनि निकालते हुए युधिष्ठिर की स्तुति की।

युधिष्ठिर महाबाहो दिष्ट्या जयसि पाण्डव दिष्ट्या स्वधर्मं प्राप्तोऽसि विक्रमेण महाद्युते

"O Yudhiṣṭhira! O mighty-armed one! O Pāṇḍava! It is through good fortune that you have been victorious. O immensely radiant one! It is good fortune that you have obtained this through your own dharma and valour.

"हे युधिष्ठिर! हे महाबाहु! हे पांडव! सौभाग्य से ही तुम विजयी हुए हो। हे अत्यंत तेजस्वी! यह सौभाग्य है कि तुमने इसे अपने धर्म और पराक्रम से प्राप्त किया है।

दिष्ट्या गाण्डीवधन्वा च भीमसेनश्च पाण्डवः त्वं चापि कुशली राजन्माद्रीपुत्रौ च पाण्डवौ

O king! It is through good fortune that the wielder of Gāṇḍīva, Pāṇḍava Bhīmasena, you and the Pāṇḍavas who are Mādrī's sons are well.

हे राजा! यह सौभाग्य ही है कि गांडीवधारी पांडव भीमसेन, आप और माद्री के पुत्र पांडव ठीक हैं।

मुक्ता वीरक्षयादस्मात्संग्रामान्निहतद्विषः क्षिप्रमुत्तरकालानि कुरु कार्याणि पाण्डव

You have slain the enemy and have escaped from a battle that has been destructive of heroes. O Pāṇḍava! Swiftly do the tasks that must be undertaken next."

आपने शत्रु को मार डाला है और उस युद्ध से बच निकले हैं जो नायकों का विनाश करने वाला था। हे पाण्डव! आगे जो कार्य करने हैं उन्हें तेजी से करें।"

ततः प्रत्यर्चितः सद्भिर्धर्मराजो युधिष्ठिरः प्रतिपेदे महद्राज्यं सुहृद्भिः सह भारत

Dharmarāja Yudhiṣṭhira was thus honoured by those virtuous ones. O descendant of the Bhārata lineage! With his well-wishers, he received that large kingdom.

इस प्रकार धर्मराज युधिष्ठिर का उन पुण्यात्माओं द्वारा सम्मान किया गया। हे भरत वंश के वंशज! अपने शुभचिंतकों से उसे वह बड़ा राज्य प्राप्त हुआ।
