कर्ण उवाच भगवन्तमहं भक्तो यथा मां वेत्थ गोपते तथा परमतिग्मांशो नान्यं देवं कथंचन

Karṇa said: "O illustrious one! O lord of the cows! O one with the extremely fierce rays! You know that there is no other god to whom I am as devoted as to you.

कर्ण ने कहा: "हे महामहिम! हे गायों के स्वामी! हे अत्यंत उग्र किरणों वाले! आप जानते हैं कि कोई अन्य देवता नहीं है जिसके प्रति मैं आपके समान समर्पित हूं।

न मे दारा न मे पुत्रा न चात्मा सुहृदो न च तथेष्टा वै सदा भक्त्या यथा त्वं गोपते मम

O lord of the cows! My affection towards you has always been greater than that towards my wife, my sons, my own self and my well-wishers.

हे गौओं के स्वामी! आपके प्रति मेरा स्नेह सदैव मेरी पत्नी, मेरे पुत्रों, स्वयं और मेरे शुभचिंतकों से अधिक रहा है।

इष्टानां च महात्मानो भक्तानां च न संशयः कुर्वन्ति भक्तिमिष्टां च जानीषे त्वं च भास्कर

O one who spreads light! You know that there is no doubt that great-souled ones desire to return the love and devotion of their devotees and worshippers.

हे प्रकाश फैलाने वाले! आप जानते हैं कि इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं है कि महात्मा लोग अपने भक्तों और उपासकों के प्रेम और भक्ति को लौटाने की इच्छा रखते हैं।

इष्टो भक्तश्च मे कर्णो न चान्यद्दैवतं दिवि जानीत इति वै कृत्वा भगवानाह मद्धितम्

Since your illustrious self knows that Karṇa loves you like no other god in heaven, you have spoken about my welfare.

चूँकि आपकी महिमा जानती है कि कर्ण आपसे उतना प्रेम करता है जितना स्वर्ग में कोई अन्य देवता नहीं, इसलिए आपने मेरे कल्याण के बारे में बात की है।

भूयश्च शिरसा याचे प्रसाद्य च पुनः पुनः इति ब्रवीमि तिग्मांशो त्वं तु मे क्षन्तुमर्हसि

I repeatedly bow my head before you and seek your favours again and again. O one with the sharp rays! I am telling you this. Please pardon me.

मैं बार-बार आपके सामने सिर झुकाता हूं और बार-बार आपका अनुग्रह चाहता हूं। हे तीव्र किरणों वाले! यह मैं आपको बता रहा हूं. कृपया मुझे क्षमा करें.

बिभेमि न तथा मृत्योर्यथा बिभ्येऽनृतादहम् विशेषेण द्विजातीनां सर्वेषां सर्वदा सताम् प्रदाने जीवितस्यापि न मेऽत्रास्ति विचारणा

I am not frightened of death as muc as I am of falsehood. Especially for all the brāhmana-s and all the righteous ones, I am ready to give up my life, without any hesitation.

मैं मौत से उतना नहीं डरता जितना झूठ से। विशेषकर सभी ब्राह्मणों और सभी धर्मात्माओं के लिए, मैं बिना किसी हिचकिचाहट के अपना जीवन त्यागने को तैयार हूं।

यच्च मामात्थ देव त्वं पाण्डवं फल्गुनं प्रति व्येतु संतापजं दुःखं तव भास्कर मानसम् अर्जुनं प्रति मां चैव विजेष्यामि रणेऽर्जुनम्

O god! O one who spreads light! In so far as the words about Pāṇḍava Phālguna are concerned, remove all torment and misery from your mind. Concerning Arjuna and me, I will vanquish Arjuna in battle.

रब्बा बे! हे प्रकाश फैलाने वाले! जहां तक ​​पांडव फाल्गुन के बारे में शब्दों का सवाल है, अपने मन से सभी पीड़ा और दुख को हटा दें। अर्जुन और मेरे संबंध में, मैं युद्ध में अर्जुन को परास्त करूंगा।

तवापि विदितं देव ममाप्यस्त्रबलं महत् जामदग्न्यादुपात्तं यत्तथा द्रोणान्महात्मनः

O god! You know about the great strength of weapons I have obtained from Jāmadagni's son and from the great-souled Droṇa.

रब्बा बे! आप जानते हैं कि मैंने जमदग्नि के पुत्र तथा महाबली द्रोण से हथियारों की महान शक्ति प्राप्त की है।

इदं त्वमनुजानीहि सुरश्रेष्ठ व्रतं मम भिक्षते वज्रिणे दद्यामपि जीवितमात्मनः

O foremost among the gods! Grant me permission to observe my vow. If the wielder of the vajra comes and begs for my own life, I will give it to him."

हे देवताओं में श्रेष्ठ! मुझे अपना व्रत पालन करने की अनुमति दीजिये। यदि वज्रधारी आकर मेरे प्राणों की भीख माँगेगा तो मैं उसे दे दूँगा।”

सूर्य उवाच यदि तात ददास्येते वज्रिणे कुण्डले शुभे त्वमप्येनमथो ब्रूया विजयार्थं महाबल

Sūrya replied: "O son! O immensely strong one! If you wish to give your beautiful earrings to the wielder of the vajra, you should speak to him so that your victory is ensured.

सूर्य ने उत्तर दिया: "हे पुत्र! हे अत्यंत बलशाली! यदि आप वज्रधारी को अपनी सुंदर बालियां देना चाहते हैं, तो आपको उससे बात करनी चाहिए ताकि आपकी जीत सुनिश्चित हो सके।

नियमेन प्रदद्यास्त्वं कुण्डले वै शतक्रतोः अवध्यो ह्यसि भूतानां कुण्डलाभ्यां समन्वितः

Because of your rule, you will have to give your earrings to Śatakratu. But as long as the earrings adorn you, you cannot be slain by any beings.

आपके नियम के कारण आपको अपनी बालियाँ शतक्रतु को देनी होंगी। लेकिन जब तक बालियां आपकी शोभा बढ़ाती हैं, तब तक आप किसी भी प्राणी द्वारा मारे नहीं जा सकते।

अर्जुनेन विनाशं हि तव दानवसूदनः प्रार्थयानो रणे वत्स कुण्डले ते जिहीर्षति

O son! Therefore, the slayer of the dānava-s wishes to ensure your destruction at the hands of Arjuna in battle and seeks to rob your earrings.

हे वत्स इसलिए, दानवों का हत्यारा युद्ध में अर्जुन के हाथों आपका विनाश सुनिश्चित करना चाहता है और आपकी बालियां लूटना चाहता है।

स त्वमप्येनमाराध्य सूनृताभिः पुनः पुनः अभ्यर्थयेथा देवेशममोघार्थं पुरंदरम्

With good and true words, you should propitiate Purandara, lord of the gods, who never deviates from his objective, again and again and tell him,

आपको बार-बार अच्छे और सच्चे शब्दों से देवताओं के स्वामी पुरंदर को प्रसन्न करना चाहिए, जो अपने उद्देश्य से कभी विचलित नहीं होते हैं और उनसे कहना चाहिए,

अमोघां देहि मे शक्तिममित्रविनिबर्हिणीम् दास्यामि ते सहस्राक्ष कुण्डले वर्म चोत्तमम्

"O one with the thousand eyes! I will give you my earrings and my excellent armour if you give me an invincible spear that will destroy all my enemies."

"हे हजार आंखों वाले! यदि आप मुझे एक अजेय भाला देंगे जो मेरे सभी शत्रुओं को नष्ट कर देगा तो मैं आपको अपनी बालियां और अपना उत्कृष्ट कवच दे दूंगा।"

इत्येवं नियमेन त्वं दद्याः शक्राय कुण्डले तया त्वं कर्ण संग्रामे हनिष्यसि रणे रिपून्

O Karṇa! It is only under this rule that you should give Śākra your earrings. With the spear, you will be able to kill your enemies in battle.

हे कर्ण! इस नियम के तहत ही आपको शक्र को अपनी बालियां देनी चाहिए। भाले से तुम युद्ध में अपने शत्रुओं को मार सकोगे।

नाहत्वा हि महाबाहो शत्रूनेति करं पुनः सा शक्तिर्देवराजस्य शतशोऽथ सहस्रशः

O mighty-armed one! The spear of the king of the gods is such that, without killing hundreds and thousands of enemies, it does not return to the hand."

हे महाबाहु! देवताओं के राजा का भाला ऐसा है, जो सैकड़ों-हजारों शत्रुओं को मारे बिना हाथ में नहीं लौटता।”

वैशंपायन उवाच एवमुक्त्वा सहस्रांशुः सहसान्तरधीयत ततः सूर्याय जप्यान्ते कर्णः स्वप्नं न्यवेदयत्

Vaiśampāyana said: Saying this, the one with the thousand rays suddenly disappeared. After he had meditated, Karṇa told Sūrya about his dream.

वैशम्पायन ने कहा: यह कहकर वह सहस्र किरणों वाला अचानक गायब हो गया। ध्यान करने के बाद, कर्ण ने सूर्य को अपने सपने के बारे में बताया।

यथादृष्टं यथातत्त्वं यथोक्तमुभयोर्निशि तत्सर्वमानुपूर्व्येण शशंसास्मै वृषस्तदा

Vṛṣa then recounted to him everything in detail, all that he had witnessed and the conversation that had taken place between them in the night.

तब वृष ने उन्हें सब कुछ विस्तार से बताया, जो कुछ उन्होंने देखा था और रात में उनके बीच जो बातचीत हुई थी।

तच्छ्रुत्वा भगवान्देवो भानुः स्वर्भानुसूदनः उवाच तं तथेत्येव कर्णं सूर्यः स्मयन्निव

On hearing this, the illustrious god Sūrya Bhānu, the destroyer of Svarbhānu, smiled and told Karṇa that this was all true.

यह सुनकर स्वर्भानु के संहारक भगवान सूर्यभानु मुस्कुराए और कर्ण से कहा कि यह सब सच है।

ततस्तत्त्वमिति ज्ञात्वा राधेयः परवीरहा शक्तिमेवाभिकाङ्क्षन्वै वासवं प्रत्यपालयत्

On knowing this to be true, Rādheya, the destroyer of enemy warriors, waited for Vāsava's arrival, hoping to obtain the spear.

यह सत्य जानकर, शत्रु योद्धाओं का संहारक, राधेय, भाला प्राप्त करने की आशा से, वासव के आगमन की प्रतीक्षा करने लगा।
