वैशंपायन उवाच ततः स पाण्डवो भूयो मार्कण्डेयमुवाच ह कथयस्वेह चरितं मनोर्वैवस्वतस्य मे

Vaiśampāyana said: Then the Pāṇḍava again spoke to Mārkaṇḍeya. "Tell me about the account of Vaivasvata Manu."

वैशम्पायन ने कहा: तब पांडव ने फिर मार्कण्डेय से बात की। "मुझे वैवस्वत मनु के वृत्तांत के बारे में बताओ।"

मार्कण्डेय उवाच विवस्वतः सुतो राजन्परमर्षिः प्रतापवान् बभूव नरशार्दूल प्रजापतिसमद्युतिः

Mārkaṇḍeya replied: "O king! O tiger among men! Vivasvat had a son. He was a maharṣi and was extremely powerful. He had radiance equal to that of Prajāpati.

मार्कण्डेय ने उत्तर दिया: "हे राजा! हे नरश्रेष्ठ बाघ! विवस्वत का एक पुत्र था। वह एक महर्षि था और अत्यंत शक्तिशाली था। उसका तेज प्रजापति के समान था।"

ओजसा तेजसा लक्ष्म्या तपसा च विशेषतः अतिचक्राम पितरं मनुः स्वं च पितामहम्

Manu surpassed his father and grandfather in vigour, energy, success and specifically, austerities.

मनु ने जोश, ऊर्जा, सफलता और विशेष रूप से तपस्या में अपने पिता और दादा को पीछे छोड़ दिया।

ऊर्ध्वबाहुर्विशालायां बदर्यां स नराधिपः एकपादस्थितस्तीव्रं चचार सुमहत्तपः

This lord of men practised terrible and great austerities, with his arms raised and standing on one foot, in Viśālā Badarī.

मनुष्यों के इस स्वामी ने विशाला बदरी में अपनी भुजाएँ ऊपर उठाकर और एक पैर पर खड़े होकर भयानक और महान तपस्या की।

अवाक्शिरास्तथा चापि नेत्रैरनिमिषैर्दृढम् सोऽतप्यत तपो घोरं वर्षाणामयुतं तदा

His head faced down and he did not blink. Firmly, he tormented himself with these terrible austerities for ten thousand years.

उसका सिर नीचे की ओर था और उसने पलकें नहीं झपकाईं। उन्होंने दृढ़तापूर्वक दस हजार वर्षों तक स्वयं को इन भयानक तपस्याओं से कष्ट दिया।

तं कदाचित्तपस्यन्तमार्द्रचीरजटाधरम् वीरिणीतीरमागम्य मत्स्यो वचनमब्रवीत्

Once, he was engaged in these austerities, clad in wet bark and with matted hair. A fish came up to him on the banks of the Vīriṇī and spoke to him.

एक बार, वह गीली छाल पहने और उलझे हुए बालों के साथ इन तपस्या में लगे हुए थे। वीरिणी के तट पर एक मछली उसके पास आई और उससे बोली।

भगवन्क्षुद्रमत्स्योऽस्मि बलवद्भ्यो भयं मम मत्स्येभ्यो हि ततो मां त्वं त्रातुमर्हसि सुव्रत

"O illustrious one! I am a small fish and am frightened of the larger ones. You are good in your vows. Therefore, save me from those fish,

"हे महान! मैं एक छोटी मछली हूं और बड़ी मछलियों से डरती हूं। आप अपनी प्रतिज्ञा में अच्छे हैं। इसलिए, मुझे उन मछलियों से बचाएं।"

दुर्बलं बलवन्तो हि मत्स्यं मत्स्या विशेषतः भक्षयन्ति यथा वृत्तिर्विहिता नः सनातनी

especially because it is the rule among fish that large fish prey on smaller ones. This has always been decreed to be our conduct from time immemorial.

विशेषकर इसलिए क्योंकि मछलियों के बीच यह नियम है कि बड़ी मछलियाँ छोटी मछलियों का शिकार करती हैं। अनादिकाल से यही हमारा आचरण माना गया है।

तस्माद्भयौघान्महतो मज्जन्तं मां विशेषतः त्रातुमर्हसि कर्तास्मि कृते प्रतिकृतं तव

Therefore, save me from this great sea of terror in which I am immersed. If you save me, I will return the deed.

अत: आप मुझे इस महान् भय के समुद्र से बचाइये जिसमें मैं डूबा हुआ हूँ। यदि आप मुझे बचा लें तो मैं बैनामा वापस कर दूंगा।

स मत्स्यवचनं श्रुत्वा कृपयाभिपरिप्लुतः मनुर्वैवस्वतोऽगृह्णात्तं मत्स्यं पाणिना स्वयम्

On hearing these words of the fish, Manu was overcome with compassion. He grasped the fish in his hands.

मछली की यह बात सुनकर मनु करुणा से भर गये। उसने मछली को अपने हाथों में पकड़ लिया।

उदकान्तमुपानीय मत्स्यं वैवस्वतो मनुः अलिञ्जरे प्राक्षिपत्स चन्द्रांशुसदृशप्रभम्

The fish had a body that shone like the moon's rays. Vaivasvata Manu took it out of the river and placed it in a small water pot.

मछली का शरीर चंद्रमा की किरणों के समान चमकने वाला था। वैवस्वत मनु ने इसे नदी से निकालकर एक छोटे से पानी के बर्तन में रख दिया।

स तत्र ववृधे राजन्मत्स्यः परमसत्कृतः पुत्रवच्चाकरोत्तस्मिन्मनुर्भावं विशेषतः

O king! Thus tended to well, the fish grew up and Manu specifically looked after it like a son.

हे राजा! इस प्रकार अच्छी तरह से देखभाल की गई, मछली बड़ी हो गई और मनु ने विशेष रूप से एक बेटे की तरह उसकी देखभाल की।

अथ कालेन महता स मत्स्यः सुमहानभूत् अलिञ्जरे जले चैव नासौ समभवत्किल

After a long period of time, the fish became so large that there was no longer any room for it in the water pot.

काफी समय के बाद मछली इतनी बड़ी हो गई कि पानी के बर्तन में उसके लिए जगह नहीं बची।

अथ मत्स्यो मनुं दृष्ट्वा पुनरेवाभ्यभाषत भगवन्साधु मेऽद्यान्यत्स्थानं संप्रतिपादय

When the fish saw Manu, it again told him, "O illustrious one! Find a different place for me to live in."

जब मछली ने मनु को देखा, तो उसने फिर उससे कहा, "हे महामहिम! मेरे रहने के लिए एक अलग जगह ढूंढो।"

उद्धृत्यालिञ्जरात्तस्मात्ततः स भगवान्मुनिः तं मत्स्यमनयद्वापीं महतीं स मनुस्तदा

Then the illustrious Manu took it out of the water pot. Manu took the fish to a large pond and threw it in.

तब तेजस्वी मनु ने उसे जल पात्र से बाहर निकाला। मनु ने मछली को एक बड़े तालाब में ले जाकर डाल दिया।

तत्र तं प्राक्षिपच्चापि मनुः परपुरंजय अथावर्धत मत्स्यः स पुनर्वर्षगणान्बहून्

O destroyer of enemy cities! Thus thrown by Manu, the fish began to grow, for many years.

हे शत्रु नगरों को नष्ट करने वाले! मनु द्वारा इस प्रकार फेंके जाने पर मछली कई वर्षों तक बड़ी होने लगी।

द्वियोजनायता वापी विस्तृता चापि योजनम् तस्यां नासौ समभवन्मत्स्यो राजीवलोचन विचेष्टितुं वा कौन्तेय मत्स्यो वाप्यां विशां पते

The pond was two yojanā-s long and one yojanā wide. O lotus-eyed one! O lord of the earth! O Kaunteya! The fish could no longer move in that pond.

तालाब दो योजन लम्बा और एक योजन चौड़ा था। हे कमलनयन! हे पृथ्वी के स्वामी! हे कौन्तेय! मछलियाँ अब उस तालाब में चल-फिर नहीं सकती थीं।

मनुं मत्स्यस्ततो दृष्ट्वा पुनरेवाभ्यभाषत नय मां भगवन्साधो समुद्रमहिषीं प्रभो गङ्गां तत्र निवत्स्यामि यथा वा तात मन्यसे

On seeing Manu, the fish again said, "O illustrious one! O righteous one! O father! Please take me to the Gāṅga, the wife of the ocean. I will live there, or wherever else you desire."

मनु को देखकर मछली ने फिर कहा, "हे महामहिम! हे धर्मात्मा! हे पिता! कृपया मुझे समुद्र की पत्नी गंगा के पास ले चलो। मैं वहीं रहूंगी, या जहां भी तुम चाहो।"

एवमुक्तो मनुर्मत्स्यमनयद्भगवान्वशी नदीं गङ्गां तत्र चैनं स्वयं प्राक्षिपदच्युतः

On hearing these words of the fish, Manu, the self-controlled lord, took it to the river Gāṅga and placed it there with his own hands.

मछली की ये बातें सुनकर संयमी स्वामी मनु उसे गंगा नदी पर ले गये और अपने हाथों से वहाँ रख दिया।

स तत्र ववृधे मत्स्यः किंचित्कालमरिंदम ततः पुनर्मनुं दृष्ट्वा मत्स्यो वचनमब्रवीत्

O chastiser of enemies! The fish began to grow there for some time. On seeing Manu again, the fish spoke these words.

हे शत्रुओं को ताड़ना देने वाले! कुछ समय तक मछलियाँ वहाँ बढ़ने लगीं। मनु को दोबारा देखकर मछली ने ये शब्द बोले.

गङ्गायां हि न शक्नोमि बृहत्त्वाच्चेष्टितुं प्रभो समुद्रं नय मामाशु प्रसीद भगवन्निति

"O lord! Because of my large size, I cannot move around in the Gāṅga. O illustrious one! Therefore, show me your favours and quickly take me to the ocean."

"हे भगवान! अपने बड़े आकार के कारण, मैं गंगा में नहीं घूम सकता। हे महामहिम! इसलिए, मुझ पर अपनी कृपा करें और मुझे शीघ्र ही सागर के पास ले चलें।"

उद्धृत्य गङ्गासलिलात्ततो मत्स्यं मनुः स्वयम् समुद्रमनयत्पार्थ तत्र चैनमवासृजत्

O Pārtha! Manu then himself took the fish out of the waters of the Gāṅga. He took it to the ocean and placed it there.

हे पार्थ! तब मनु ने स्वयं मछली को गंगा के जल से बाहर निकाला। वह उसे समुद्र में ले गया और वहाँ रख दिया।

सुमहानपि मत्स्यः सन्स मनोर्मनसस्तदा आसीद्यथेष्टहार्यश्च स्पर्शगन्धसुखश्च वै

Despite the fish's great size, Manu could carry it easily. Its touch and smell were also pleasant.

मछली के बड़े आकार के बावजूद, मनु इसे आसानी से ले जा सकता था। उसका स्पर्श और गंध भी सुखद थी.

यदा समुद्रे प्रक्षिप्तः स मत्स्यो मनुना तदा तत एनमिदं वाक्यं स्मयमान इवाब्रवीत्

When the fish was thrown into the ocean by Manu, it seemed to smile and uttered these words.

जब मनु ने मछली को समुद्र में फेंका तो वह मुस्कुराती हुई ये शब्द बोलने लगी।

भगवन्कृता हि मे रक्षा त्वया सर्वा विशेषतः प्राप्तकालं तु यत्कार्यं त्वया तच्छ्रूयतां मम

"O lord! You have always protected me with great care. Now hear from me about the task you should perform when the time is right.

"हे प्रभु! आपने हमेशा बड़ी सावधानी से मेरी रक्षा की है। अब सही समय आने पर आपको जो कार्य करना चाहिए, उसके बारे में मुझसे सुनें।

अचिराद्भगवन्भौममिदं स्थावरजङ्गमम् सर्वमेव महाभाग प्रलयं वै गमिष्यति

O illustrious one! O immensely fortunate one! The destruction of everything on this earth, mobile and immobile, is near.

हे महामहिम! हे परम भाग्यशाली! इस धरती पर हर चीज़, जंगम और जंगम, का विनाश निकट है।

संप्रक्षालनकालोऽयं लोकानां समुपस्थितः तस्मात्त्वां बोधयाम्यद्य यत्ते हितमनुत्तमम्

The time for purging this world has arrived. Therefore, listen to what will bring your greatest welfare.

इस संसार को शुद्ध करने का समय आ गया है। अत: जिस बात से तुम्हारा सबसे अधिक कल्याण होगा, उसे सुनो।

त्रसानां स्थावराणां च यच्चेङ्गं यच्च नेङ्गति तस्य सर्वस्य संप्राप्तः कालः परमदारुणः

The fear of destruction is nigh for everything that moves, stands, stirs and does not stir. That terrible time of destruction has arrived.

विनाश का डर हर उस चीज़ के लिए निकट है जो चलती है, खड़ी है, हिलती है और नहीं हिलती है। विनाश का वह भयानक समय आ पहुँचा है।

नौश्च कारयितव्या ते दृढा युक्तवटाकरा तत्र सप्तर्षिभिः सार्धमारुहेथा महामुने

You must therefore build a strong and sturdy boat and tether a rope to it. O great sage! You must then ascend it with the saptarṣi-s.

इसलिए तुम्हें एक मजबूत और मजबूत नाव बनानी चाहिए और उसमें एक रस्सी बांधनी चाहिए। हे महामुनि! फिर तुम्हें सप्तर्षियों के साथ उस पर चढ़ना होगा।

बीजानि चैव सर्वाणि यथोक्तानि मया पुरा तस्यामारोहयेर्नावि सुसंगुप्तानि भागशः

Take with you all the seeds that I have mentioned to you earlier. Ascend on the boat and preserve them separately.

उन सभी बीजों को अपने साथ ले जाओ जिनके बारे में मैंने आपको पहले बताया है। नाव पर चढ़ो और उन्हें अलग-अलग सुरक्षित रखो।

नौस्थश्च मां प्रतीक्षेथास्तदा मुनिजनप्रिय आगमिष्याम्यहं शृङ्गी विज्ञेयस्तेन तापस

O one who is beloved of the sages! Wait for me on the boat. O ascetic! I will come to you and you will know me from my horn.

हे ऋषियों के प्रिय! नाव पर मेरी प्रतीक्षा करो. हे तपस्वी! मैं तुम्हारे पास आऊंगा और तुम मुझे मेरे सींग से पहचान लोगे।

एवमेतत्त्वया कार्यमापृष्टोऽसि व्रजाम्यहम् नातिशङ्क्यमिदं चापि वचनं ते ममाभिभो

I will now depart. Act according to my instructions. O lord! Do not be anxious."

अब मैं प्रस्थान करूंगा. मेरे निर्देशों के अनुसार कार्य करें. हे भगवान! चिंतित मत होइए।”

एवं करिष्य इति तं स मत्स्यं प्रत्यभाषत जग्मतुश्च यथाकाममनुज्ञाप्य परस्परम्

He replied to the fish in these words, "O lord! I will act accordingly." Then they took leave of each other and went where they wished.

उसने मछली को इन शब्दों में उत्तर दिया, "हे प्रभु! मैं तदनुसार कार्य करूंगा।" फिर उन्होंने एक-दूसरे से विदा ली और जहां जाना चाहते थे चले गए।

ततो मनुर्महाराज यथोक्तं मत्स्यकेन ह बीजान्यादाय सर्वाणि सागरं पुप्लुवे तदा नावा तु शुभया वीर महोर्मिणमरिंदम

O great king! O brave one! O destroyer of enemies! As he had been instructed by the fish, Manu collected all the seeds. He built an excellent boat and sailed on the waves of the ocean.

हे महान राजा! हे वीर! हे शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाले! जैसा कि मछली ने उसे निर्देश दिया था, मनु ने सभी बीज एकत्र कर लिये। उसने एक उत्कृष्ट नाव बनाई और समुद्र की लहरों पर तैरने लगा।

चिन्तयामास च मनुस्तं मत्स्यं पृथिवीपते स च तच्चिन्तितं ज्ञात्वा मत्स्यः परपुरंजय शृङ्गी तत्राजगामाशु तदा भरतसत्तम

O lord of the earth! O destroyer of enemy cities! Manu thought about the fish. Knowing about his thoughts, the fish arrived. O supreme among the Bhārata lineage! It had a horn.

हे पृथ्वी के स्वामी! हे शत्रु नगरों को नष्ट करने वाले! मनु ने मछली के बारे में सोचा। उसके मन की बात जानकर मछली आ पहुँची। हे भरतवंशियों में श्रेष्ठ! उसके पास एक सींग था.

तं दृष्ट्वा मनुजेन्द्रेन्द्र मनुर्मत्स्यं जलार्णवे शृङ्गिणं तं यथोक्तेन रूपेणाद्रिमिवोच्छ्रितम्

O Indra of Indra-s among men! When Manu saw the fish in the waters of the ocean, with the form of a large mountain,

हे मनुष्यों में इन्द्रों के इन्द्र! जब मनु ने समुद्र के जल में एक विशाल पर्वत के रूप वाली मछली को देखा।

वटाकरमयं पाशमथ मत्स्यस्य मूर्धनि मनुर्मनुजशार्दूल तस्मिञ्शृङ्गे न्यवेशयत्

with a horn as it had said, he tied a noose around the rope and fastened it to the fish's head.

जैसा कि कहा गया था, उसने एक सींग से रस्सी के चारों ओर एक फंदा बाँधा और उसे मछली के सिर पर बाँध दिया।

संयतस्तेन पाशेन मत्स्यः परपुरंजय वेगेन महता नावं प्राकर्षल्लवणाम्भसि

O tiger among men! O destroyer of enemy cities! Tethered to the noose in the rope, with great speed, the fish tugged the boat into the waters of the ocean.

हे मनुष्यों में बाघ! हे शत्रु नगरों को नष्ट करने वाले! रस्सी के फंदे में बंधी मछली ने बड़े वेग से नाव को समुद्र के पानी में खींच लिया।

स ततार तया नावा समुद्रं मनुजेश्वर नृत्यमानमिवोर्मीभिर्गर्जमानमिवाम्भसा

O lord of men! The boat was tossed around in the ocean. It danced around on the roaring waves, like a drunken woman.

हे मनुष्यों के स्वामी! नाव समुद्र में इधर-उधर उलट गई। वह किसी मतवाली स्त्री की भाँति गरजती हुई लहरों पर नाच रही थी।

क्षोभ्यमाणा महावातैः सा नौस्तस्मिन्महोदधौ घूर्णते चपलेव स्त्री मत्ता परपुरंजय

On that great ocean, the boat was battered around by great waves. O destroyer of enemy cities! It was whirled around.

उस विशाल महासागर में, नाव चारों ओर से बड़ी-बड़ी लहरों से टकरा रही थी। हे शत्रु नगरों को नष्ट करने वाले! इसे चारों ओर घुमाया गया।

नैव भूमिर्न च दिशः प्रदिशो वा चकाशिरे सर्वमाम्भसमेवासीत्खं द्यौश्च नरपुंगव

The earth could not be seen, nor the directions. Everything was enveloped. O bull among men! There was water everywhere, including the sky and heaven.

न पृथ्वी दिखाई देती थी, न दिशाएँ। सब कुछ ढका हुआ था. हे मनुष्यों में बैल! आकाश और स्वर्ग सहित सर्वत्र जल ही जल था।

एवंभूते तदा लोके संकुले भरतर्षभ अदृश्यन्त सप्तर्षयो मनुर्मत्स्यः सहैव ह

O bull among the Bhārata lineage! The world was covered by this turbulence. Everything was invisible, except for the seven riṣi-s, Manu and the fish.

हे भरत वंश में बैल! विश्व इस अशांति से आच्छादित था। सात ऋषियों, मनु और मछली को छोड़कर सब कुछ अदृश्य था।

एवं बहून्वर्षगणांस्तां नावं सोऽथ मत्स्यकः चकर्षातन्द्रितो राजंस्तस्मिन्सलिलसंचये

O king! In this way, for a large number of years, the fish unceasingly pulled the boat on that flood of water.

हे राजा! इस प्रकार कई वर्षों तक मछली पानी की उस बाढ़ में नाव को निरंतर खींचती रही।

ततो हिमवतः शृङ्गं यत्परं पुरुषर्षभ तत्राकर्षत्ततो नावं स मत्स्यः कुरुनन्दन

O bull among men! O descendant of the Kuru lineage! The fish then pulled the boat to the highest peak of the Himālaya-s.

हे मनुष्यों में बैल! हे कुरु वंश के वंशज! फिर मछली नाव को हिमालय की सबसे ऊंची चोटी तक खींच ले गई।

ततोऽब्रवीत्तदा मत्स्यस्तानृषीन्प्रहसञ्शनैः अस्मिन्हिमवतः शृङ्गे नावं बध्नीत माचिरम्

In a smiling and soft tone, it told the riṣi-s, "Immediately tie the boat to this peak of the Himālaya-s."

इसने मुस्कुराते हुए और नरम स्वर में ऋषियों से कहा, "तुरंत नाव को हिमालय के इस शिखर पर बांधो।"

सा बद्धा तत्र तैस्तूर्णमृषिभिर्भरतर्षभ नौर्मत्स्यस्य वचः श्रुत्वा शृङ्गे हिमवतस्तदा

O bull among the Bhārata lineage! On hearing the words of the fish, they quickly moored the boat there, to the peak of the Himālaya-s.

हे भरत वंश में बैल! मछली की बातें सुनकर, उन्होंने तुरंत नाव को हिमालय के शिखर पर बाँध दिया।

तच्च नौबन्धनं नाम शृङ्गं हिमवतः परम् ख्यातमद्यापि कौन्तेय तद्विद्धि भरतर्षभ

O Kaunteya! O bull among the Bhārata lineage! Know that since that day, the highest peak of the Himālaya-s has been known as 'Nau-bandhana'.

हे कौन्तेय! हे भरत वंश में बैल! जान लें कि उस दिन से हिमालय की सबसे ऊंची चोटी को 'नौ-बंधन' के नाम से जाना जाता है।

अथाब्रवीदनिमिषस्तानृषीन्सहितांस्तदा अहं प्रजापतिर्ब्रह्मा मत्परं नाधिगम्यते मत्स्यरूपेण यूयं च मयास्मान्मोक्षिता भयात्

Then, without any hesitation, it spoke to the riṣi-s who were assembled there. "I am Prajāpati Brahmā. There is no one superior to me. I have saved you from this fear in the form of a fish.

फिर, बिना किसी हिचकिचाहट के, इसने वहां एकत्रित ऋषियों से बात की। "मैं प्रजापति ब्रह्मा हूं। मुझसे श्रेष्ठ कोई नहीं है। मैंने तुम्हें मछली रूपी भय से बचाया है।"

मनुना च प्रजाः सर्वाः सदेवासुरमानवाः स्रष्टव्याः सर्वलोकाश्च यच्चेङ्गं यच्च नेङ्गति

Manu will create all beings—gods, āsura-s and men, all the worlds, everything that moves and everything that does not move.

मनु सभी प्राणियों-देवताओं, असुरों और मनुष्यों, सभी संसारों, हर उस चीज़ का निर्माण करेंगे जो गतिमान है और हर उस चीज़ की जो गतिमान नहीं है।

तपसा चातितीव्रेण प्रतिभास्य भविष्यति मत्प्रसादात्प्रजासर्गे न च मोहं गमिष्यति

Through terrible austerities and my favours, he will possess these powers of creating classes of beings and will not suffer from delusion."

घोर तपस्या और मेरी कृपा से, उसके पास प्राणियों के वर्ग बनाने की शक्तियाँ होंगी और वह भ्रम से पीड़ित नहीं होगा।

इत्युक्त्वा वचनं मत्स्यः क्षणेनादर्शनं गतः स्रष्टुकामः प्रजाश्चापि मनुर्वैवस्वतः स्वयम् प्रमूढोऽभूत्प्रजासर्गे तपस्तेपे महत्ततः

Having spoken these words, the fish instantly disappeared. Vaivasvata Manu himself desired to create all beings. In the process of creating classes of beings, he was overtaken by delusion and performed great austerities.

ये शब्द कहकर मछली तुरंत गायब हो गई। वैवस्वत मनु स्वयं सभी प्राणियों की रचना करना चाहते थे। प्राणियों की श्रेणियाँ बनाने की प्रक्रिया में, वह मोह से ग्रस्त हो गया और उसने बड़ी तपस्या की।

तपसा महता युक्तः सोऽथ स्रष्टुं प्रचक्रमे सर्वाः प्रजा मनुः साक्षाद्यथावद्भरतर्षभ

O bull among the Bhārata lineage! Through these great austerities, Manu was himself able to create all beings, exactly.

हे भरत वंश में बैल! इन महान तपस्याओं के माध्यम से, मनु स्वयं सभी प्राणियों का निर्माण करने में सक्षम थे।

इत्येतन्मात्स्यकं नाम पुराणं परिकीर्तितम् आख्यानमिदमाख्यातं सर्वपापहरं मया

य इदं शृणुयान्नित्यं मनोश्चरितमादितः स सुखी सर्वसिद्धार्थः स्वर्गलोकमियान्नरः
