मार्कण्डेय उवाच तस्यां रात्र्यां व्यतीतायामुदिते सूर्यमण्डले कृतपूर्वाह्णिकाः सर्वे समेयुस्ते तपोधनाः

Mārkaṇḍeya said: The night ended. The sun's disc arose. Having performed their morning rites, all the ones rich in austerities reassembled.

मार्कण्डेय ने कहाः रात्रि समाप्त हो गयी। सूर्य का चक्र उठा. प्रातःकाल का अनुष्ठान करके सभी तपस्वी लोग पुनः एकत्रित हो गये।

तदेव सर्वं सावित्र्या महाभाग्यं महर्षयः द्युमत्सेनाय नातृप्यन्कथयन्तः पुनः पुनः

The maharṣi-s did not tire of recounting repeatedly to Dyumatsena everything about Savitṛ's great glory.

महर्षि द्युमत्सेन को सविता की महान महिमा के बारे में बार-बार बताते नहीं थकते थे।

ततः प्रकृतयः सर्वाः शाल्वेभ्योऽभ्यागता नृप आचख्युर्निहतं चैव स्वेनामात्येन तं नृपम्

O king! Then all the subjects arrived from the land of Śālva and told the king about how his enemy had been slain by his own adviser.

हे राजा! तब शाल्व देश से सारी प्रजा आ गई और राजा को बताया कि किस प्रकार उसका शत्रु उसके ही सलाहकार द्वारा मारा गया है।

तं मन्त्रिणा हतं श्रुत्वा ससहायं सबान्धवम् न्यवेदयन्यथातत्त्वं विद्रुतं च द्विषद्बलम्

On learning that he had been killed by his minister, with his aides and well-wishers, they came and recounted everything that had happened. The soldiers of the enemy had run away.

जब उन्हें पता चला कि उनके मंत्री ने उन्हें मार डाला है, तो वे अपने सहयोगियों और शुभचिंतकों के साथ आये और जो कुछ हुआ था, उसे बताया। शत्रु के सैनिक भाग गये थे।

ऐकमत्यं च सर्वस्य जनस्याथ नृपं प्रति सचक्षुर्वाप्यचक्षुर्वा स नो राजा भवत्विति

In unison, all the subjects had decided that he should be their king. Irrespective of whether he possessed sight or did not have eyesight, he should be the king.

सभी प्रजा ने एकमत होकर निर्णय लिया कि उसे ही उनका राजा बनना चाहिए। चाहे उसके पास दृष्टि हो या न हो, उसे राजा होना ही चाहिए।

अनेन निश्चयेनेह वयं प्रस्थापिता नृप प्राप्तानीमानि यानानि चतुरङ्गं च ते बलम्

They said that they had been dispatched to the king because of this decision. The vehicles had come and so had the four kinds of forces.

उन्होंने कहा कि इस निर्णय के कारण उन्हें राजा के पास भेज दिया गया है। गाड़ियाँ आ गई थीं और चार प्रकार की सेनाएँ भी आ गई थीं।

प्रयाहि राजन्भद्रं ते घुष्टस्ते नगरे जयः अध्यास्स्व चिररात्राय पितृपैतामहं पदम्

Therefore, now that his victory had been proclaimed in the city, they asked the fortunate king to leave, so that he might occupy the seat of his father and grandfathers for many nights.

इसलिए, अब जब शहर में उसकी जीत की घोषणा हो चुकी थी, तो उन्होंने भाग्यशाली राजा को चले जाने के लिए कहा, ताकि वह कई रातों तक अपने पिता और दादाओं की सीट पर कब्जा कर सके।

चक्षुष्मन्तं च तं दृष्ट्वा राजानं वपुषान्वितम् मूर्धभिः पतिताः सर्वे विस्मयोत्फुल्ललोचनाः

On seeing that the king now had sight and was healthy, all of them bowed their heads in subjugation, their eyes dilated with wonder.

यह देखकर कि राजा को अब दृष्टि आ गई है और वह स्वस्थ है, उन सभी ने वश में होकर अपना सिर झुका लिया, उनकी आँखें आश्चर्य से फैल गईं।

ततोऽभिवाद्य तान्वृद्धान्द्विजानाश्रमवासिनः तैश्चाभिपूजितः सर्वैः प्रययौ नगरं प्रति

The king then greeted all the aged brāhmana-s who lived in the hermitage. All of them honoured him and he left for the city.

तब राजा ने आश्रम में रहने वाले सभी वृद्ध ब्राह्मणों का अभिवादन किया। सबने उसका आदर-सत्कार किया और वह नगर को चला गया।

शैब्या च सह सावित्र्या स्वास्तीर्णेन सुवर्चसा नरयुक्तेन यानेन प्रययौ सेनया वृता

Śaibyā left, in Savitṛ's company. They were in a decorated and radiant palanquin that was pulled by men and was surrounded by soldiers.

शैब्या ने सवित्र की संगति छोड़ दी। वे एक सुसज्जित और दीप्तिमान पालकी में थे जिसे पुरुष खींच रहे थे और सैनिकों से घिरा हुआ था।

ततोऽभिषिषिचुः प्रीत्या द्युमत्सेनं पुरोहिताः पुत्रं चास्य महात्मानं यौवराज्येऽभ्यषेचयन्

The priests happily instated Dyumatsena and instated his great-souled son as the heir apparent.

पुजारियों ने खुशी-खुशी द्युमत्सेन को सिंहासन पर बिठाया और उसके महान पुत्र को उत्तराधिकारी के रूप में स्थापित किया।

ततः कालेन महता सावित्र्याः कीर्तिवर्धनम् तद्वै पुत्रशतं जज्ञे शूराणामनिवर्तिनाम्

Over a long period of time, Savitṛ gave birth to a hundred sons. They were brave, never retreated from battle and extended her fame.

दीर्घकाल में सविता ने सौ पुत्रों को जन्म दिया। वे बहादुर थे, युद्ध से कभी पीछे नहीं हटे और उसकी प्रसिद्धि बढ़ाई।

भ्रातॄणां सोदराणां च तथैवास्याभवच्छतम् मद्राधिपस्याश्वपतेर्मालव्यां सुमहाबलम्

She also had one hundred extremely powerful brothers. They were begotten by Aśvapati, king of the Madra-s, on Mālavī.

उसके एक सौ अत्यंत शक्तिशाली भाई भी थे। इनका जन्म मद्र वंश के राजा अश्वपति द्वारा मालवी से हुआ था।

एवमात्मा पिता माता श्वश्रूः श्वशुर एव च भर्तुः कुलं च सावित्र्या सर्वं कृच्छ्रात्समुद्धृतम्

Thus Savitṛ saved all of them from the misfortune that had arisen—herself, her father, her mother, her mother-in-law, her father-in-law, her husband and the entire lineage.

इस प्रकार सविता ने उन सभी को उस दुर्भाग्य से बचाया - खुद को, अपने पिता, अपनी माँ, अपनी सास, अपने ससुर, अपने पति और पूरे वंश को।

तथैवैषापि कल्याणी द्रौपदी शीलसंमता तारयिष्यति वः सर्वान्सावित्रीव कुलाङ्गना

In that fashion, the fortunate Draupadī, honoured because of her good conduct, will deliver all of you, like Savitṛ, born from a noble lineage.

उस प्रकार, अपने अच्छे आचरण के कारण सम्मानित, भाग्यशाली द्रौपदी, एक महान वंश में जन्मी सविता की तरह, आप सभी का उद्धार करेगी।

वैशंपायन उवाच एवं स पाण्डवस्तेन अनुनीतो महात्मना विशोको विज्वरो राजन्काम्यके न्यवसत्तदा

Vaiśampāyana said: O king! Thus instructed by that great-souled one, the Pāṇḍava-s lost their sorrow and their fever and continued to live in Kāmyaka.

वैशम्पायन ने कहा: हे राजा! इस प्रकार उस महान आत्मा के निर्देश से, पांडवों ने अपना दुःख और बुखार खो दिया और काम्यक में रहना जारी रखा।
