वैशंपायन उवाच ततस्तानि महार्हाणि दिव्यानि भरतर्षभ बहूनि बहुरूपाणि विरजांसि समाददे

Vaiśampāyana said: Then the bull among the Bhārata lineage started to gather large numbers of those precious, divine, unblemished and colourful flowers.

वैशम्पायन ने कहा: तब भरत वंश के बैल ने बड़ी संख्या में उन बहुमूल्य, दिव्य, बेदाग और रंगीन फूलों को इकट्ठा करना शुरू कर दिया।

ततो वायुर्महाञ्शीघ्रो नीचैः शर्करकर्षणः प्रादुरासीत्खरस्पर्शः संग्राममभिचोदयन्

Suddenly, a large storm arose. It swiftly threw up the stones from below. It was harsh to the touch and carried with it the portents of battle.

अचानक एक बड़ा तूफ़ान उठा. उसने तेजी से नीचे से पत्थर फेंके। यह छूने में कठोर था और अपने साथ युद्ध के लक्षण भी लिए हुए था।

पपात महती चोल्का सनिर्घाता महाप्रभा निष्प्रभश्चाभवत्सूर्यश्छन्नरश्मिस्तमोवृतः

A giant meteor descended, immensely fiery in the storm. Covered in the darkness, the sun's rays were dimmed and it lost its radiance.

तूफ़ान में अत्यंत उग्र, एक विशाल उल्का उतरा। अँधेरे में घिर जाने के कारण सूर्य की किरणें मंद पड़ गईं और उसकी चमक खो गई।

निर्घातश्चाभवद्भीमो भीमे विक्रममास्थिते चचाल पृथिवी चापि पांसुवर्षं पपात च

While Bhīmā resorted to his terrible valour, a terrible whirlwind gathered. The earth began to tremble and a storm of dust descended.

जब भीम ने अपने भयानक पराक्रम का सहारा लिया, तो एक भयानक बवंडर आ गया। धरती कांपने लगी और धूल का तूफ़ान आने लगा।

सलोहिता दिशश्चासन्खरवाचो मृगद्विजाः तमोवृतमभूत्सर्वं न प्रज्ञायत किंचन

The directions turned red. Animals and birds screamed in harsh voices. Everything was covered in darkness and nothing could be seen.

दिशाएँ लाल हो गईं। पशु-पक्षी कठोर स्वर में चिल्लाने लगे। सब कुछ अंधेरे में ढका हुआ था और कुछ भी दिखाई नहीं दे रहा था।

तदद्भुतमभिप्रेक्ष्य धर्मपुत्रो युधिष्ठिरः उवाच वदतां श्रेष्ठः कोऽस्मानभिभविष्यति

On seeing these extraordinary happenings, Yudhiṣṭhira, Dharma's son and the foremost among speakers, spoke these words.

इन असाधारण घटनाओं को देखकर, धर्म के पुत्र और वक्ताओं में अग्रणी युधिष्ठिर ने ये शब्द बोले।

सज्जीभवत भद्रं वः पाण्डवा युद्धदुर्मदाः यथारूपाणि पश्यामि स्वभ्यग्रो नः पराक्रमः

"Who is attempting to overcome us? O Pāṇḍava-s! You are always powerful in battle. Be fortunate and prepared. From what I can see, the time for displaying our valour has come."

"कौन हम पर विजय पाने का प्रयास कर रहा है? हे पांडवों! आप युद्ध में हमेशा शक्तिशाली होते हैं। भाग्यशाली और तैयार रहें। जहां तक ​​मैं देख सकता हूं, हमारी वीरता प्रदर्शित करने का समय आ गया है।"

एवमुक्त्वा ततो राजा वीक्षां चक्रे समन्ततः अपश्यमानो भीमं च धर्मराजो युधिष्ठिरः

Having spoken these words, the king looked around. But Yudhiṣṭhira, Dharma's son, could not see Bhīmā.

ये शब्द कहकर राजा ने चारों ओर देखा। लेकिन धर्मपुत्र युधिष्ठिर भीम को नहीं देख सके।

तत्र कृष्णां यमौ चैव समीपस्थानरिंदमः पप्रच्छ भ्रातरं भीमं भीमकर्माणमाहवे

Then the destroyer of enemies asked Kṛṣṇā and the twins, who were close by, about his brother Bhīmā, the performer of terrible deeds in battle.

तब शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाले ने कृष्ण और जुड़वा बच्चों से, जो पास में थे, युद्ध में भयानक कर्म करने वाले अपने भाई भीम के बारे में पूछा।

कच्चिन्न भीमः पाञ्चालि किंचित्कृत्यं चिकीर्षति कृतवानपि वा वीरः साहसं साहसप्रियः

"O Pāñcālī! Did Bhīmā desire to perform some deed? Or has the brave one, who is addicted to valour, already performed some courageous deed?

"हे पांचाली! क्या भीम को कोई कार्य करने की इच्छा थी? अथवा वीरता के आदी उस वीर ने पहले ही कोई साहसी कार्य कर दिखाया है?

इमे ह्यकस्मादुत्पाता महासमरदर्शिनः दर्शयन्तो भयं तीव्रं प्रादुर्भूताः समन्ततः

Portents can suddenly be seen in all the directions. They indicate a great battle and foretell great dangers."

अंश अचानक सभी दिशाओं में देखे जा सकते हैं। वे एक महान युद्ध का संकेत देते हैं और बड़े खतरों की भविष्यवाणी करते हैं।"

तं तथा वादिनं कृष्णा प्रत्युवाच मनस्विनी प्रिया प्रियं चिकीर्षन्ती महिषी चारुहासिनी

The intelligent Kṛṣṇā, his sweet-smiling and beloved queen, who always wished to bring him pleasure, replied to his words,

बुद्धिमान कृष्ण, उनकी मधुर मुस्कान वाली और प्रिय रानी, ​​जो हमेशा उन्हें प्रसन्न करना चाहती थीं, ने उनके शब्दों का उत्तर दिया,

"O king! A saugandhika was brought here by the wind today. I showed it to Bhīmasena

अपि चोक्तो मया वीरो यदि पश्येद्बहून्यपि तानि सर्वाण्युपादाय शीघ्रमागम्यतामिति

and lovingly told the brave one to bring many more back to me, if he should see them, and return quickly.

और उस वीर से प्रेमपूर्वक कहा कि यदि वह उन्हें देखे, तो और भी बहुतों को मेरे पास ले आए, और शीघ्र लौट आए।

स तु नूनं महाबाहुः प्रियार्थं मम पाण्डवः प्रागुदीचीं दिशं राजंस्तान्याहर्तुमितो गतः

O king! To bring me pleasure, the mighty-armed Pāṇḍava must have gone to the north-eastern direction."

हे राजा! मुझे प्रसन्न करने के लिए, महाबाहु पांडव उत्तर-पूर्वी दिशा में गए होंगे।"

उक्तस्त्वेवं तया राजा यमाविदमथाब्रवीत् गच्छाम सहितास्तूर्णं येन यातो वृकोदरः

Having heard these words, the king told the twins, "In that case, let us immediately go where Vṛkodara has gone.

ये बातें सुनकर राजा ने जुड़वाँ बच्चों से कहा, "उस स्थिति में, हमें तुरंत वहाँ जाना चाहिए जहाँ वृकोदर गया है।

वहन्तु राक्षसा विप्रान्यथाश्रान्तान्यथाकृशान् त्वमप्यमरसंकाश वह कृष्णां घटोत्कच

Let the rākṣasa-s bear the brāhmana-s who are exhausted and tired, as the case may be. O Ghaṭotkaca! You are the equal of the immortals. You carry Kṛṣṇā.

राक्षसों को उन ब्राह्मणों को सहन करने दो जो थके हुए हैं, जैसी भी स्थिति हो। हे घटोत्कच! आप अमरों के समान हैं। तुम कृष्ण को ले जाओ ।

व्यक्तं दूरमितो भीमः प्रविष्ट इति मे मतिः चिरं च तस्य कालोऽयं स च वायुसमो जवे

It is my certain view that Bhīmā has gone a long distance away. He has been away for a long time and he is like the wind in his speed.

मेरा निश्चित मत है कि भीम बहुत दूर चला गया है। वह लंबे समय से दूर है और उसकी गति हवा की तरह है।'

तरस्वी वैनतेयस्य सदृशो भुवि लङ्घने उत्पतेदपि चाकाशं निपतेच्च यथेच्छकम्

In swiftly leaping over the ground, he is like Vinatā's son. He will leap up into the sky and descend, as he pleases.

तेजी से जमीन पर छलाँग लगाने में वह विनता के पुत्र के समान है। वह अपनी इच्छानुसार आकाश में छलाँग लगाएगा और उतरेगा।

तमन्वियाम भवतां प्रभावाद्रजनीचराः पुरा स नापराध्नोति सिद्धानां ब्रह्मवादिनाम्

O those who roam in the night! With the aid of your powers, we will follow him, before he causes any offence to the siddha-s and those who are learned in the brāhman."

हे रात में घूमने वालों! आपकी शक्तियों की सहायता से, हम उसका अनुसरण करेंगे, इससे पहले कि वह सिद्धों और ब्राह्मणों के बारे में कोई अपराध करे।"

तथेत्युक्त्वा तु ते सर्वे हैडिम्बप्रमुखास्तदा उद्देशज्ञाः कुबेरस्य नलिन्या भरतर्षभ

They agreed to these words. O bull among the Bhārata lineage! They were all led by Hiḍimbā's son, who was foremost among them and knew the region around Kubera's pond.

वे इन बातों पर सहमत हो गये। हे भरत वंश में बैल! उन सभी का नेतृत्व हिडिंबा के बेटे ने किया था, जो उनमें सबसे अग्रणी था और कुबेर के तालाब के आसपास के क्षेत्र को जानता था।

आदाय पाण्डवांश्चैव तांश्च विप्राननेकशः लोमशेनैव सहिताः प्रययुः प्रीतमानसाः

In a delighted frame of mind, they grasped the Pāṇḍava-s and many other brāhmana-s, together with Lomaśa.

प्रसन्नतापूर्वक मन की स्थिति में, उन्होंने लोमश सहित पांडवों और कई अन्य ब्राह्मणों को पकड़ लिया।

ते गत्वा सहिताः सर्वे ददृशुस्तत्र कानने प्रफुल्लपङ्कजवतीं नलिनीं सुमनोहराम्

All of them travelled together until they saw the grove and the extremely beautiful pond with saugandhika lotuses.

उन सभी ने एक साथ यात्रा की जब तक कि उन्होंने उपवन और सौगंधिका कमलों वाला अत्यंत सुंदर तालाब नहीं देखा।

तं च भीमं महात्मानं तस्यास्तीरे व्यवस्थितम् ददृशुर्निहतांश्चैव यक्षान्सुविपुलेक्षणान्

They saw the intelligent and great-souled Bhīmā along its banks and the bodies of the large-eyed yakṣa-s that he had slain.

He was standing on the banks of the river, his club raised in his two arms, like Yāma with a staff in his hand at the time of the destruction of beings.

वह नदी के तट पर अपनी दोनों भुजाओं में गदा उठाए खड़ा था, जैसे प्राणियों के विनाश के समय यम हाथ में लाठी लिए हुए हों।

तं दृष्ट्वा धर्मराजस्तु परिष्वज्य पुनः पुनः उवाच श्लक्ष्णया वाचा कौन्तेय किमिदं कृतम्

On seeing him, Dharmarāja embraced him again and again. He spoke to him in gentle words. "O Kaunteya! What have you done?

उन्हें देखते ही धर्मराज ने उन्हें बार-बार गले लगाया। उन्होंने उससे सौम्य शब्दों में बात की. "हे कौन्तेय! तुमने क्या किया है?"

साहसं बत भद्रं ते देवानामपि चाप्रियम् पुनरेवं न कर्तव्यं मम चेदिच्छसि प्रियम्

O fortunate one! Because of your courage, you have brought displeasure to the gods. If you wish to bring me pleasure, never commit such deeds again."

हे भाग्यवान! तूने अपने साहस के कारण देवताओं को अप्रसन्न कर दिया है। अगर तुम मुझे ख़ुशी देना चाहते हो तो फिर कभी ऐसे काम मत करना।”

अनुशास्य च कौन्तेयं पद्मानि प्रतिगृह्य च तस्यामेव नलिन्यां ते विजह्रुरमरोपमाः

After having thus instructed Kaunteya, they collected lotuses and amused themselves in that lotus pond, like the immortals.

कौन्तेय को इस प्रकार निर्देश देने के बाद, उन्होंने कमल एकत्र किए और अमरों की तरह उस कमल तालाब में अपना मनोरंजन किया।

एतस्मिन्नेव काले तु प्रगृहीतशिलायुधाः प्रादुरासन्महाकायास्तस्योद्यानस्य रक्षिणः

At that time, the guards appeared. Their bodies were gigantic and they were armed with rocks.

उसी समय गार्ड आ गये। उनके शरीर विशाल थे और वे चट्टानों से सुसज्जित थे।

ते दृष्ट्वा धर्मराजानं देवर्षिं चापि लोमशम् नकुलं सहदेवं च तथान्यान्ब्राह्मणर्षभान् विनयेनानताः सर्वे प्रणिपेतुश्च भारत

O descendant of the Bhārata lineage! When they saw Dharmarāja, maharṣi Lomaśa, Nākula, Sahadeva and all the other bulls among brāhmana-s, they prostrated themselves in humility.

हे भरत वंश के वंशज! जब उन्होंने ब्राह्मणों के बीच धर्मराज, महर्षि लोमश, नकुल, सहदेव और अन्य सभी बैलों को देखा, तो उन्होंने विनम्रता से प्रणाम किया।

सान्त्विता धर्मराजेन प्रसेदुः क्षणदाचराः विदिताश्च कुबेरस्य ततस्ते नरपुंगवाः ऊषुर्नातिचिरं कालं रममाणाः कुरूद्वहाः

Dharmarāja pacified those roamers of the night and they became calm. With Kubera's permission, the bulls among the Kuru-s lived there for some time and sported themselves.

धर्मराज ने रात्रि भ्रमण करने वालों को शांत किया और वे शांत हो गये। कुबेर की अनुमति से, कुरु-बैल कुछ समय के लिए वहां रहे और खेल-कूद किया।
