सनत्सुजात उवाच यत्तच्छुक्रं महज्ज्योतिर्दीप्यमानं महद्यशः तद्वै देवा उपासन्ते यस्मादर्को विराजते योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

Sānatsujāta said: "He is the seed and is a great and blazing light. He is the resplendent one whose fame is great. He is the one whom the gods worship. It is because of him that the sun shines. He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

सनत्सुजाता ने कहा: "वह बीज है और एक महान और चमकती हुई रोशनी है। वह देदीप्यमान है जिसकी प्रसिद्धि महान है। वह वही है जिसकी देवता पूजा करते हैं। उसके कारण ही सूर्य चमकता है। वह वही है जिसे योगी देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान है।"

शुक्राद्ब्रह्म प्रभवति ब्रह्म शुक्रेण वर्धते तच्छुक्रं ज्योतिषां मध्येऽतप्तं तपति तापनम् योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

Everything originates with the brāhman's seed. It is because of the brāhman's seed that everything flourishes. It is because of the seed that stars burn in the middle of the sky and the sun obtains its radiance. He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

हर चीज़ की उत्पत्ति ब्राह्मण के बीज से होती है। ब्रह्म के बीज के कारण ही सब कुछ फलता-फूलता है। बीज के कारण ही आकाश के मध्य में तारे जलते हैं और सूर्य को उसका तेज प्राप्त होता है। वह वही है जिसे योगी लोग देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान हैं.

आपोऽथ अद्भ्यः सलिलस्य मध्ये; उभौ देवौ शिश्रियातेऽन्तरिक्षे स सध्रीचीः स विषूचीर्वसाना; उभे बिभर्ति पृथिवीं दिवं च योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

It is because of him that there is water in the middle of the ocean. It is because of him that the two gods are in the firmament. They hold up what flows in and what flows out, in the earth and in heaven. He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

उन्हीं के कारण समुद्र के बीच में जल है। उन्हीं के कारण दोनों देवता आकाश में हैं। वे पृथ्वी और स्वर्ग में जो कुछ भी आता है और जो बाहर जाता है, उसे रोकते हैं। वह वही है जिसे योगी लोग देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान हैं.

उभौ च देवौ पृथिवीं दिवं च; दिशश्च शुक्रं भुवनं बिभर्ति तस्माद्दिशः सरितश्च स्रवन्ति; तस्मात्समुद्रा विहिता महान्तः योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

Both these gods carry earth and heaven. The seed bears the directions and the universe. The rivers flow from those directions and the great oceans are created from these. He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

ये दोनों देवता पृथ्वी और स्वर्ग को धारण करते हैं। बीज दिशाओं और ब्रह्मांड को धारण करता है। उन्हीं दिशाओं से नदियाँ बहती हैं और उन्हीं से बड़े-बड़े महासागरों का निर्माण होता है। वह वही है जिसे योगी लोग देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान हैं.

चक्रे रथस्य तिष्ठन्तं ध्रुवस्याव्ययकर्मणः केतुमन्तं वहन्त्यश्वास्तं दिव्यमजरं दिवि योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

Based on the wheels, the steady chariot ceaselessly works. He has a flaming crest and the celestial and ageless horses bear him in the sky.He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

पहियों के आधार पर स्थिर रथ निरंतर चलता रहता है। उसके पास एक ज्वलंत शिखा है और दिव्य और चिरस्थायी घोड़े उसे आकाश में ले जाते हैं। वह वही है जिसे योगी देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान हैं.

न सादृश्ये तिष्ठति रूपमस्य; न चक्षुषा पश्यति कश्चिदेनम् मनीषयाथो मनसा हृदा च; य एवं विदुरमृतास्ते भवन्ति योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

There is no form that is similar to his. He can never be seen with the eyes. Learned ones who get to know him through their minds and their hearts, become immortal. He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

उनके समान कोई रूप नहीं है। वह कभी आँखों से दिखाई नहीं देता। जो विद्वान उसे अपने मन और हृदय से जान लेते हैं, वे अमर हो जाते हैं। वह वही है जिसे योगी लोग देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान हैं.

द्वादशपूगां सरितं देवरक्षितम् मधु ईशन्तस्तदा संचरन्ति घोरम् योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

There is a terrible river with twelve flows protected by the gods and one drinks from it. He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

वहाँ देवताओं द्वारा संरक्षित बारह धाराओं वाली एक भयानक नदी है और एक व्यक्ति उसमें से पीता है। वह वही है जिसे योगी लोग देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान हैं.

तदर्धमासं पिबति संचित्य भ्रमरो मधु ईशानः सर्वभूतेषु हविर्भूतमकल्पयत् योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

Like a bee, there are those who drink the honey only for half a month. He is the lord who has ordained oblations for all beings. He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

मधुमक्खी की तरह कुछ लोग ऐसे भी होते हैं जो केवल आधे महीने तक ही शहद पीते हैं। वह भगवान है जिसने सभी प्राणियों के लिए यज्ञों का विधान किया है। वह वही है जिसे योगी लोग देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान हैं.

हिरण्यपर्णमश्वत्थमभिपत्य अपक्षकाः ते तत्र पक्षिणो भूत्वा प्रपतन्ति यथादिशम् योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

There is an aśvattha tree with golden foliage. They alight like featherless birds there. Having obtained feathers, they fly out in different directions. He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

वहाँ सुनहरे पत्तों वाला एक अश्वत्थ वृक्ष है। वे वहाँ पंखहीन पक्षियों की तरह उतरते हैं। पंख प्राप्त करने के बाद, वे अलग-अलग दिशाओं में उड़ जाते हैं। वह वही है जिसे योगी लोग देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान हैं.

पूर्णात्पूर्णान्युद्धरन्ति पूर्णात्पूर्णानि चक्रिरे हरन्ति पूर्णात्पूर्णानि पूर्णमेवावशिष्यते योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

The complete is taken out from the complete. It is from the complete that the complete universe is created. The complete is taken from the complete. But it is the complete that remains. He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

पूर्ण में से पूर्ण को निकाल लिया जाता है। पूर्ण से ही संपूर्ण ब्रह्मांड का निर्माण हुआ है। पूर्ण से पूर्ण लिया गया है। लेकिन वह पूर्ण ही शेष है। वह वही है जिसे योगी लोग देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान हैं.

तस्माद्वै वायुरायातस्तस्मिंश्च प्रयतः सदा तस्मादग्निश्च सोमश्च तस्मिंश्च प्राण आततः

The wind is created from him and it in him that it subsides. Agni and somā were created from him. All life depends on him.

वायु उसी से उत्पन्न होती है और उसी में उसका शमन होता है। उनसे अग्नि और सोम की उत्पत्ति हुई। सारा जीवन उसी पर निर्भर है।

सर्वमेव ततो विद्यात्तत्तद्वक्तुं न शक्नुमः योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

One knows everything through him. One is incapable of describing him. He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

उसके द्वारा ही मनुष्य सब कुछ जानता है। उसका वर्णन करने में कोई असमर्थ है। वह वही है जिसे योगी लोग देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान हैं.

अपानं गिरति प्राणः प्राणं गिरति चन्द्रमाः आदित्यो गिरते चन्द्रमादित्यं गिरते परः योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

Apāna dissolves into prāṇa, prāṇa dissolves into the moon. The moon dissolves into the sun. The sun dissolves into the supreme. He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

अपान प्राण में विलीन हो जाता है, प्राण चंद्रमा में विलीन हो जाता है। चंद्रमा सूर्य में विलीन हो जाता है. सूर्य परम में विलीन हो जाता है। वह वही है जिसे योगी लोग देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान हैं.

एकं पादं नोत्क्षिपति सलिलाद्धंस उच्चरन् तं चेत्सततमृत्विजं न मृत्युर्नामृतं भवेत् योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

When it ascends out of the water, the swan does not raise one foot. If it did raise it, there would be no death, nor immortality. He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

जब हंस पानी से बाहर निकलता है तो एक पैर भी नहीं उठाता। यदि उसने इसे उठाया, तो न तो मृत्यु होगी और न ही अमरता होगी। वह वही है जिसे योगी लोग देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान हैं.

एवं देवो महात्मा स पावकं पुरुषो गिरन् यो वै तं पुरुषं वेद तस्येहात्मा न रिष्यते योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

There is one great-souled god. He is the being who swallows the fire. If one knows this being, one's soul will never come to any harm. He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

एक महान आत्मा वाला भगवान है. वह वह प्राणी है जो आग को निगल जाता है। यदि कोई इस अस्तित्व को जानता है, तो उसकी आत्मा को कभी कोई हानि नहीं होगी। वह वही है जिसे योगी लोग देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान हैं.

यः सहस्रं सहस्राणां पक्षान्संतत्य संपतेत् मध्यमे मध्य आगच्छेदपि चेत्स्यान्मनोजवः योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

Even if the thousands and thousands of wings are spread out to fly, they must return to the centre and what is in the centre, with the speed of thought. He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

भले ही हजारों-हजारों पंख उड़ने के लिए फैले हों, उन्हें विचार की गति के साथ केंद्र और जो केंद्र में है, उसकी ओर लौटना होगा। वह वही है जिसे योगी लोग देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान हैं.

न दर्शने तिष्ठति रूपमस्य; पश्यन्ति चैनं सुविशुद्धसत्त्वाः हितो मनीषी मनसाभिपश्ये;द्ये तं श्रयेयुरमृतास्ते भवन्ति योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

His form is stationed beyond the range of sight. Only those who are extremely pure in soul can see him. A wise one desiring welfare sees him through the mind. Those who resort to him, become immortal. He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

उसका रूप दृष्टि की सीमा से परे स्थित है। केवल वे ही लोग उन्हें देख सकते हैं जिनकी आत्मा अत्यंत शुद्ध है। कल्याण चाहने वाला बुद्धिमान उसे मन से देखता है। जो लोग उसका सहारा लेते हैं, वे अमर हो जाते हैं। वह वही है जिसे योगी लोग देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान हैं.

गूहन्ति सर्पा इव गह्वराणि; स्वशिक्षया स्वेन वृत्तेन मर्त्याः तेषु प्रमुह्यन्ति जना विमूढा; यथाध्वानं मोहयन्ते भयाय योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

Because of their own learning and their own conduct, mortal ones hide him, like snakes in their holes. But only foolish ones are deluded by this and deceived and confounded, follow the dangerous road. He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

मनुष्य अपनी विद्या और अपने आचरण के कारण उसे सांपों की नाईं अपने बिलों में छिपाए रखते हैं। परन्तु केवल मूर्ख लोग ही इससे भ्रमित होते हैं और धोखा खाकर भ्रमित होकर खतरनाक मार्ग पर चलते हैं। वह वही है जिसे योगी लोग देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान हैं.

सदा सदासत्कृतः स्यान्न मृत्युरमृतं कुतः सत्यानृते सत्यसमानबन्धने; सतश्च योनिरसतश्चैक एव योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

There is neither existence, nor is there non-existence. Therefore, what source can give rise to death or immortality? Both truth and falsehood are based on the same truth. Truth and falsehood originate in the same womb. He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

न तो कोई अस्तित्व है, न ही कोई गैर-अस्तित्व है। इसलिए, कौन सा स्रोत मृत्यु या अमरता को जन्म दे सकता है? सत्य और असत्य दोनों एक ही सत्य पर आधारित हैं। सत्य और असत्य की उत्पत्ति एक ही गर्भ से होती है। वह वही है जिसे योगी लोग देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान हैं.

न साधुना नोत असाधुना वा; समानमेतद्दृश्यते मानुषेषु समानमेतदमृतस्य विद्या;देवंयुक्तो मधु तद्वै परीप्सेत् योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

Among men, whether they are righteous or wicked, these are not seen in an equal way. Having been united with the divine knowledge of immortality, one should taste that honey. He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

मनुष्यों में, चाहे वे धर्मी हों या दुष्ट, इन्हें समान दृष्टि से नहीं देखा जाता है। अमरत्व के दिव्य ज्ञान से युक्त होकर मनुष्य को उस शहद का स्वाद लेना चाहिए। वह वही है जिसे योगी लोग देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान हैं.

नास्यातिवादा हृदयं तापयन्ति; नानधीतं नाहुतमग्निहोत्रम् मनो ब्राह्मीं लघुतामादधीत; प्रज्ञानमस्य नाम धीरा लभन्ते योगिनस्तं प्रपश्यन्ति भगवन्तं सनातनम्

The heart is not tormented because of abuse. Nor do lack of studying and lack of agnihotra matter. The mind becomes as light as the brāhman. Those who are wise and persevering obtain him. He is the one whom the yogis see. He is the eternal and illustrious lord.

दुव्र्यवहार से हृदय को पीड़ा नहीं होती। न ही अध्ययन का अभाव और अग्निहोत्र का अभाव कोई मायने रखता है। मन ब्रह्म के समान हल्का हो जाता है। जो बुद्धिमान और धैर्यवान हैं वे उसे प्राप्त करते हैं। वह वही है जिसे योगी लोग देखते हैं। वह शाश्वत और शानदार भगवान हैं.

एवं यः सर्वभूतेषु आत्मानमनुपश्यति अन्यत्रान्यत्र युक्तेषु किं स शोचेत्ततः परम्

Thus, one sees one's own soul in all beings, all engaged in various tasks. After this, why should there be any sorrow?

इस प्रकार, व्यक्ति सभी प्राणियों में अपनी ही आत्मा को देखता है, जो सभी विभिन्न कार्यों में लगे हुए हैं। इसके बाद फिर दुःख क्यों हो?

यथोदपाने महति सर्वतः संप्लुतोदके एवं सर्वेषु वेदेषु ब्राह्मणस्य विजानतः

There is a great deal of water in a well that overflows in all the directions. Like that, brāhmana-s who wish to know can use all the Veda-s.

एक कुएं में बहुत सारा पानी है जो सभी दिशाओं में बहता है। इस प्रकार, जो ब्राह्मण जानना चाहते हैं वे सभी वेदों का उपयोग कर सकते हैं।

अङ्गुष्ठमात्रः पुरुषो महात्मा; न दृश्यतेऽसौ हृदये निविष्टः अजश्चरो दिवारात्रमतन्द्रितश्च; स तं मत्वा कविरास्ते प्रसन्नः

The great-souled being is the size of a thumb. Though he resides in the heart, he cannot be seen. He is unborn. He ceaselessly roams, throughout night and day. Knowing this, a wise one is full of bliss.

वह महान आत्मा अंगूठे के आकार का है। यद्यपि वह हृदय में रहता है, फिर भी उसे देखा नहीं जा सकता। वह अजन्मा है. वह रात-दिन लगातार घूमता रहता है। यह जानकर बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति आनंद से परिपूर्ण होता है।

अहमेवास्मि वो माता पिता पुत्रोऽस्म्यहं पुनः आत्माहमपि सर्वस्य यच्च नास्ति यदस्ति च

I am I. I am also the mother, the father and the son. I am the soul of everything, whether I exist or whether I do not exist.

मैं ही मैं हूं, माता भी मैं हूं, पिता भी मैं हूं और पुत्र भी मैं ही हूं। मैं हर चीज़ की आत्मा हूं, चाहे मेरा अस्तित्व हो या न हो।

पितामहोऽस्मि स्थविरः पिता पुत्रश्च भारत ममैव यूयमात्मस्था न मे यूयं न वोऽप्यहम्

O descendant of the Bhārata lineage! I am the ancient grandfather, the father and the son. You dwell in my soul. But you are not mine and I am not yours.

हे भरत वंश के वंशज! मैं प्राचीन दादा, पिता और पुत्र हूँ. तुम मेरी आत्मा में निवास करो. लेकिन तुम मेरे नहीं हो और मैं तुम्हारा नहीं हूं.

आत्मैव स्थानं मम जन्म चात्मा; वेदप्रोक्तोऽहमजरप्रतिष्ठः

The soul is the foundation. The soul is the birth. I am the foundation without decay that the Veda-s speak about.

आत्मा ही आधार है। आत्मा ही जन्म है. वेद जिस क्षय रहित आधार की बात करते हैं, वह मैं ही हूँ।

अणोरणीयान्सुमनाः सर्वभूतेषु जागृमि पितरं सर्वभूतानां पुष्करे निहितं विदुः

I am the smallest of the small, the most beloved in all beings. I am awake in all beings. Know him, the one who is hidden in the lotus, to be the father of all beings."

मैं सभी प्राणियों में सबसे छोटा, सबसे प्रिय हूँ। मैं सभी प्राणियों में जागृत हूं। जो कमल में छिपा हुआ है, उसे सभी प्राणियों का पिता जानो।"
