वैशंपायन उवाच धृतराष्ट्रवचः श्रुत्वा भीष्मद्रोणौ समर्थ्य तौ दुर्योधनमिदं वाक्यमूचतुः शासनातिगम्

Vaiśampāyana said: On hearing Dhṛtarāṣṭra's words, Bhīṣma and Droṇa again spoke in his support to Duryodhana, who was not acting according to the instructions.

वैशम्पायन ने कहा: धृतराष्ट्र के शब्दों को सुनकर, भीष्म और द्रोण ने फिर से दुर्योधन के समर्थन में बात की, जो निर्देशों के अनुसार कार्य नहीं कर रहा था।

यावत्कृष्णावसंनद्धौ यावत्तिष्ठति गाण्डिवम् यावद्धौम्यो न सेनाग्नौ जुहोतीह द्विषद्बलम्

"As long as the two Kṛṣṇās are not armoured, as long as the Gāṇḍīva is resting, as long as Dhaumya does not offer the foremost forces of the enemy into the fire of war,

"जब तक दोनों कृष्ण कवचधारी नहीं हैं, जब तक गाण्डीव विश्राम कर रहे हैं, जब तक धौम्य शत्रु की अग्रणी सेनाओं को युद्ध की आग में नहीं झोंक देता,

यावन्न प्रेक्षते क्रुद्धः सेनां तव युधिष्ठिरः ह्रीनिषेधो महेष्वासस्तावच्छाम्यतु वैशसम्

as long as the modest and great archer Yudhiṣṭhira does not angrily glance at your soldiers, till then, we may find peace.

जब तक विनम्र और महान धनुर्धर युधिष्ठिर आपके सैनिकों की ओर क्रोध भरी दृष्टि से नहीं देखेंगे, तब तक हमें शांति मिल सकती है।

यावन्न दृश्यते पार्थः स्वेष्वनीकेष्ववस्थितः भीमसेनो महेष्वासस्तावच्छाम्यतु वैशसम्

As long as we do not see the mighty archer Pārtha Bhīmasena take his position among the divisions of his own army, till then, we may find peace.

जब तक हम शक्तिशाली धनुर्धर पार्थ भीमसेन को अपनी ही सेना की टुकड़ियों के बीच अपना स्थान लेते नहीं देख लेते, तब तक हमें शांति मिल सकती है।

यावन्न चरते मार्गान्पृतनामभिहर्षयन् यावन्न शातयत्याजौ शिरांसि गजयोधिनाम्

As long as he does not roam around and increase the delight of the soldiers, as long as he does not shatter the heads of those who are fighting on elephants in the war,

जब तक वह घूम-घूम कर सैनिकों का आनंद नहीं बढ़ाता, जब तक वह युद्ध में हाथियों पर सवार होकर लड़ने वालों के सिरों को टुकड़े-टुकड़े नहीं कर देता।

गदया वीरघातिन्या फलानीव वनस्पतेः कालेन परिपक्वानि तावच्छाम्यतु वैशसम्

as long as the destroyer of enemies does not use his club, as if against fruits on trees that have been ripened with time, till then, we may find peace.

जब तक शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाला अपनी लाठी का प्रयोग नहीं करता, जैसे कि समय के साथ पके हुए पेड़ों के फलों के विरुद्ध, तब तक हमें शांति मिल सकती है।

नकुलः सहदेवश्च धृष्टद्युम्नश्च पार्षतः विराटश्च शिखण्डी च शैशुपालिश्च दंशिताः

As long as Nākula, Sahadeva, Pārṣata Dhṛṣṭadyumna, Virāṭa, Śikhaṇḍī and Śiśupāla's son, all skilled in the use of weapons,

जब तक नकुल, सहदेव, पार्श्वत धृष्टद्युम्न, विराट, शिखंडी और शिशुपाल के पुत्र, सभी हथियार चलाने में कुशल थे,

यावन्न प्रविशन्त्येते नक्रा इव महार्णवम् कृतास्त्राः क्षिप्रमस्यन्तस्तावच्छाम्यतु वैशसम्

do not armour themselves and swiftly penetrate, like crocodiles in the great ocean, till then, we may find peace.

अपने आप को कवच न दें और बड़े समुद्र में मगरमच्छों की तरह तेजी से प्रवेश न करें, तब तक हमें शांति मिल सकती है।

यावन्न सुकुमारेषु शरीरेषु महीक्षिताम् गार्ध्रपत्राः पतन्त्युग्रास्तावच्छाम्यतु वैशसम्

As long as arrows tufted with the feathers of vultures do not descend on the delicate bodies of kings, till then, we may find peace.

जब तक गिद्ध के पंखों से युक्त बाण राजाओं के कोमल शरीरों पर नहीं उतरते, तब तक हमें शांति मिल सकती है।

चन्दनागरुदिग्धेषु हारनिष्कधरेषु च नोरःसु यावद्योधानां महेष्वासैर्महेषवः

On the chests of the warriors, anointed with sandalwood and aloe and are adorned with gold plates and necklaces,

योद्धाओं की छाती पर चंदन और घृत से अभिषिक्त तथा सोने के थालों और हारों से सुशोभित हैं।

कृतास्त्रैः क्षिप्रमस्यद्भिर्दूरपातिभिरायसाः अभिलक्ष्यैर्निपात्यन्ते तावच्छाम्यतु वैशसम्

till the great archers have not shot their great iron arrows that travel swiftly, till then, we may find peace.

जब तक महान धनुर्धर अपने बड़े-बड़े लोहे के तीर नहीं चला लेते जो तेजी से चलते हैं, तब तक हमें शांति मिल सकती है।

अभिवादयमानं त्वां शिरसा राजकुञ्जरः पाणिभ्यां प्रतिगृह्णातु धर्मराजो युधिष्ठिरः

Let Dharmarāja Yudhiṣṭhira, elephant among kings, hold you by the hands, while you bow your head down.

राजाओं में हाथी, धर्मराज युधिष्ठिर तुम्हें अपना सिर झुकाए हुए हाथ से पकड़ लें।

ध्वजाङ्कुशपताकाङ्कं दक्षिणं ते सुदक्षिणः स्कन्धे निक्षिपतां बाहुं शान्तये भरतर्षभ

O bull among the Bhārata lineage! Let that extremely generous one place his right hand, marked with the signs of a pennant, goad, elephant and flag, on your shoulder as a mark of peace.

हे भरत वंश में बैल! उस अत्यंत उदार व्यक्ति को शांति के प्रतीक के रूप में अपना दाहिना हाथ, जिस पर पताका, अंकुश, हाथी और ध्वज के चिह्न अंकित हैं, आपके कंधे पर रखना चाहिए।

रत्नौषधिसमेतेन रत्नाङ्गुलितलेन च उपविष्टस्य पृष्ठं ते पाणिना परिमार्जतु

When you are seated, let him place his hands, adorned with gems and with jewels on the fingers, on your back.

जब आप बैठे हों, तो वह रत्नों से सुसज्जित और अंगुलियों पर रत्न जड़े हुए अपने हाथ आपकी पीठ पर रखे।

शालस्कन्धो महाबाहुस्त्वां स्वजानो वृकोदरः साम्नाभिवदतां चापि शान्तये भरतर्षभ

O bull among the Bhārata lineage! Let the mighty-armed Vṛkodara, whose shoulders are like a śala tree, embrace you and speak to you in conciliatory tones, for the sake of peace.

हे भरत वंश में बैल! शाल वृक्ष के समान कंधे वाले महाबाहु वृकोदर आपको गले लगा लें और शांति के लिए आपसे सौहार्दपूर्ण स्वर में बात करें।

अर्जुनेन यमाभ्यां च त्रिभिस्तैरभिवादितः मूर्ध्नि तान्समुपाघ्राय प्रेम्णाभिवद पार्थिव

O king! Honoured by the three, Arjuna and the twins, you will affectionately inhale the fragrance of their heads.

हे राजा! अर्जुन और जुड़वाँ तीनों द्वारा सम्मानित होकर, आप स्नेहपूर्वक उनके सिर की सुगंध को ग्रहण करेंगे।

दृष्ट्वा त्वां पाण्डवैर्वीरैर्भ्रातृभिः सह संगतम् यावदानन्दजाश्रूणि प्रमुञ्चन्तु नराधिपाः

On seeing you united with the brave Pāṇḍava brothers, let these lords of men release tears of joy.

आपको वीर पाण्डव भाइयों के साथ संयुक्त देखकर ये नरश्रेष्ठ प्रसन्नता के आँसू छोड़ें।

घुष्यतां राजधानीषु सर्वसंपन्महीक्षिताम् पृथिवी भ्रातृभावेन भुज्यतां विज्वरो भव

In a spirit of fraternity, let this be proclaimed in all the capital cities of the kings of the earth. Enjoy this and be bereft of fever."

भाईचारे की भावना से, पृथ्वी के राजाओं की सभी राजधानियों में इसकी घोषणा की जाए। इसका आनंद उठायें और बुखार से दूर रहें।”
