सूत उवाच ततः कामगमः पक्षी महावीर्यो महाबलः मातुरन्तिकमागच्छत्परं तीरं महोदधेः

Sauti said: Then that bird, capable of travelling everywhere at will and capable of summoning energy at will, went to his mother's house, on the other side of the ocean.

सौती ने कहा: तब वह पक्षी, जो इच्छानुसार हर जगह यात्रा करने में सक्षम था और इच्छानुसार ऊर्जा बुलाने में सक्षम था, समुद्र के दूसरी ओर, अपनी माँ के घर चला गया।

यत्र सा विनता तस्मिन्पणितेन पराजिता अतीव दुःखसंतप्ता दासीभावमुपागता

Vinatā lived there, tormented by grief, having lost the wager and having become a slave.

विनता दाँव हार जाने और दासी बन जाने के कारण दु:ख से पीड़ित होकर वहाँ रहती थी।

ततः कदाचिद्विनतां प्रवणां पुत्रसंनिधौ काल आहूय वचनं कद्रूरिदमभाषत

Some days later, when her son was present, Vinatā was summoned by Kadrū and when Vinatā bowed before her, Kadrū said,

कुछ दिनों बाद, जब उसका पुत्र उपस्थित था, कद्रू ने विनता को बुलाया और जब विनता उसके सामने झुकी, तो कद्रू ने कहा,

नागानामालयं भद्रे सुरम्यं रमणीयकम् समुद्रकुक्षावेकान्ते तत्र मां विनते वह

"Dear Vinatā, take me to the beautiful and lovely abode of the nāga-s situated in the heart of the ocean."

"प्रिय विनता, मुझे समुद्र के मध्य में स्थित नागों के सुंदर और मनमोहक निवास स्थान पर ले चलो।"

ततः सुपर्णमाता तामवहत्सर्पमातरम् पन्नगान्गरुडश्चापि मातुर्वचनचोदितः

Then Suparṇa's mother took up the mother of the snakes. On his mother's request, Gāruḍa took the snakes on his back.

तब सुपर्णा की माँ ने साँपों की माँ को पाला। अपनी माँ के अनुरोध पर, गरुड़ ने साँपों को अपनी पीठ पर ले लिया।

स सूर्यस्याभितो याति वैनतेयो विहंगमः सूर्यरश्मिपरीताश्च मूर्च्छिताः पन्नगाभवन् तदवस्थान्सुतान्दृष्ट्वा कद्रूः शक्रमथास्तुवत्

Vinatā's son, the bird, began to rise up towards the sun and scorched by the rays of the sun, the snakes became unconscious. Seeing the state of her sons, Kadrū began to praise Śākra in these words.

विनता का पुत्र पक्षी सूर्य की ओर बढ़ने लगा और सूर्य की किरणों से झुलसकर सर्प मूर्छित हो गये। अपने पुत्रों की ऐसी स्थिति देखकर कद्रू इन शब्दों में शक्र की स्तुति करने लगी।

नमस्ते देवदेवेश नमस्ते बलसूदन नमुचिघ्न नमस्तेऽस्तु सहस्राक्ष शचीपते

"O lord of the gods! I bow before you. O slayer of Bāla! I bow before you. O slayer of Namuci! I bow before you. O thousand-eyed husband of Śacī!

"हे देवताओं के स्वामी! मैं आपके सामने झुकता हूं। हे बाला के हत्यारे! मैं आपके सामने झुकता हूं। हे नमुसी के हत्यारे! मैं आपके सामने झुकता हूं। हे हजार आंखों वाले शची के पति!

सर्पाणां सूर्यतप्तानां वारिणा त्वं प्लवो भव त्वमेव परमं त्राणमस्माकममरोत्तम

The snakes are being burnt by the rays of the sun. Save them with your showers. You are our supreme protector. O best of the gods!

सूर्य की किरणों से सर्प जल रहे हैं। उन्हें अपने शॉवर से बचाएं। आप हमारे सर्वोच्च रक्षक हैं. हे देवश्रेष्ठ!

ईशो ह्यसि पयः स्रष्टुं त्वमनल्पं पुरंदर त्वमेव मेघस्त्वं वायुस्त्वमग्निर्वैद्युतोऽम्बरे

O Purandara! You can pour forth water in torrents. You are Vāyu, you are the clouds. You are Agni. You are the lightning in the sky.

हे पुरंदर! आप मूसलधार बारिश में पानी बहा सकते हैं। तुम वायु हो, तुम बादल हो। तुम अग्नि हो. तुम आकाश की बिजली हो.

त्वमभ्रघनविक्षेप्ता त्वामेवाहुः पुनर्घनम् त्वं वज्रमतुलं घोरं घोषवांस्त्वं बलाहकः

You drive the masses of clouds and therefore you are known as the dense cloud. You are the unparalleled thunder, you are the roaring clouds.

आप बादलों के समूह को चलाते हैं और इसलिए आपको घने बादल के रूप में जाना जाता है। तुम अद्वितीय गर्जन हो, तुम गरजते बादल हो।

स्रष्टा त्वमेव लोकानां संहर्ता चापराजितः त्वं ज्योतिः सर्वभूतानां त्वमादित्यो विभावसुः

You are the creator and the destroyer of all the worlds. You are invincible. You are the light of all beings. You are the sun and the fire.

आप समस्त लोकों के रचयिता और संहारक हैं। आप अजेय हैं. आप सभी प्राणियों के प्रकाश हैं। आप सूर्य और अग्नि हैं।

त्वं महद्भूतमाश्चर्यं त्वं राजा त्वं सुरोत्तमः त्वं विष्णुस्त्वं सहस्राक्षस्त्वं देवस्त्वं परायणम्

You are supreme knowledge, you are wonderful. You are the king. You are the best of the gods. You are Viṣṇu, you have one thousand eyes.

आप परम ज्ञानी हैं, अद्भुत हैं। आप राजा हैं. आप देवताओं में सर्वश्रेष्ठ हैं। आप विष्णु हैं, आपकी एक हजार आंखें हैं।

त्वं सर्वममृतं देव त्वं सोमः परमार्चितः त्वं मुहूर्तस्तिथिश्च त्वं लवस्त्वं वै पुनः क्षणः

You are the God and the last refuge. You are the somā that is the most worshipped. You are the instants. You are the tithī-s. You are lāva and you are again kṣaṇa.

आप ही ईश्वर और अन्तिम आश्रय हैं। आप ही वह सोम हैं जिसकी सबसे अधिक पूजा की जाती है। आप क्षण हैं. आप तिथि-स हैं. तुम लव हो और तुम पुनः कृष्ण हो ।

शुक्लस्त्वं बहुलश्चैव कला काष्ठा त्रुटिस्तथा संवत्सरर्तवो मासा रजन्यश्च दिनानि च

You are śuklapakṣa, you are kṛṣṇapakṣa, you are kalā, you are kāṣṭha and you are also truṭi. You are the year, the seasons, the months, the nights and the days.

आप शुक्लपक्ष हैं, आप कृष्णपक्ष हैं, आप काल हैं, आप काष्ठ हैं और आप सत्य भी हैं। आप वर्ष, ऋतुएँ, महीने, रातें और दिन हैं।

त्वमुत्तमा सगिरिवना वसुंधरा; सभास्करं वितिमिरमम्बरं तथा महोदधिः सतिमितिमिंगिलस्तथा; महोर्मिमान्बहुमकरो झषालयः

You are the beautiful earth with its mountains and forests. You are the bright sky with the sun. You are the great ocean and its waves, with whales, creatures that swallow whales, crocodiles and diverse other fish. You are immensely famous.

आप पर्वतों और वनों वाली सुन्दर पृथ्वी हैं। आप सूर्य के साथ उज्ज्वल आकाश हैं। आप विशाल महासागर और उसकी लहरें हैं, जिसमें व्हेल, जीव हैं जो व्हेल, मगरमच्छ और विविध अन्य मछलियों को निगल जाते हैं। आप अत्यंत प्रसिद्ध हैं.

महद्यशस्त्वमिति सदाभिपूज्यसे; मनीषिभिर्मुदितमना महर्षिभिः अभिष्टुतः पिबसि च सोममध्वरे; वषट्कृतान्यपि च हवींषि भूतये

You are always worshipped by the wise, whose intelligence has been awakened, and the maharṣi-s. You are the drinker of the somā juice that is offered at sacrifices with sacred incantations and other offerings.

आप सदैव बुद्धिमानों, जिनकी बुद्धि जागृत हो चुकी है, तथा महर्षियों द्वारा पूजित होती हैं। आप सोम रस के पीने वाले हैं जो पवित्र मंत्रों और अन्य भेंटों के साथ यज्ञ में चढ़ाया जाता है।

त्वं विप्रैः सततमिहेज्यसे फलार्थं; वेदाङ्गेष्वतुलबलौघ गीयसे च त्वद्धेतोर्यजनपरायणा द्विजेन्द्रा; वेदाङ्गान्यभिगमयन्ति सर्ववेदैः

You are always worshipped in sacrifices by Brāhmana-s who desire the fruits. Your incomparable strength is praised in the Veda-s. It is for this reason that the best of the Brāhmana-s, who are engaged in sacrifices, study the Vedāṅga-s with great diligence."

फल की इच्छा रखने वाले ब्राह्मण यज्ञों में सदैव आपकी पूजा करते हैं। वेदों में आपकी अतुलनीय शक्ति की प्रशंसा की गई है। यही कारण है कि श्रेष्ठ ब्राह्मण, जो यज्ञों में लगे रहते हैं, बड़े परिश्रम से वेदांगों का अध्ययन करते हैं।"
