Since they were rigid in their vows, they paid homage to all the elders of the Kuru lineage and embraced their equals. Even the children said farewell.

O bull among the Bhārata-s! There were some fearless Brāhmana-s there. Aggrieved over what had happened to Pāṇḍu's sons, they said,

"The evil King Dhṛtarāṣṭra is impartial and is immersed in darkness. Dhṛtarāṣṭra doesn't follow the path of dharma.
"दुष्ट राजा धृतराष्ट्र निष्पक्ष हैं और अंधकार में डूबे हुए हैं। धृतराष्ट्र धर्म के मार्ग पर नहीं चलते हैं।

भीमो वा बलिनां श्रेष्ठः कौन्तेयो वा धनंजयः
कुत एव महाप्राज्ञौ माद्रीपुत्रौ करिष्यतः
The Pāṇḍava who has no sin in his heart, Bhīmā, supreme among those who are strong, and Kuntī's son, Dhanañjayā, cannot commit a sin. Nor can the immensely wise sons of Mādrī.
जिस पांडव के हृदय में कोई पाप नहीं है, बलवानों में श्रेष्ठ भीम और कुंती पुत्र धनंजय पाप नहीं कर सकते। न ही माद्री के अत्यंत बुद्धिमान पुत्र ऐसा कर सकते हैं।
Dhṛtarāṣṭra cannot bear that they have inherited the kingdom from their father. How could Bhīṣma have allowed such a great act of adharma, so that Kuntī's sons, bulls of the Bhārata lineage, have been banished to another city without reason?
धृतराष्ट्र यह सहन नहीं कर सकते कि उन्हें राज्य अपने पिता से विरासत में मिला है। भीष्म इतने बड़े अधर्म कार्य की अनुमति कैसे दे सकते थे, जिससे कुंती के पुत्रों, भरत वंश के बैलों को बिना किसी कारण के दूसरे शहर में निर्वासित कर दिया गया?

"One who knows will act so as to avoid danger. There is a sharp weapon that can pierce the body, but is not made of iron. He who knows this is not killed and can turn it against the enemy.
"जो जानता है वह खतरे से बचने के लिए कार्य करेगा। एक तेज हथियार है जो शरीर को छेद सकता है, लेकिन लोहे से बना नहीं है। जो यह जानता है वह मारा नहीं जाता है और इसे दुश्मन के खिलाफ कर सकता है।

The burner of gras-s and the drier of dew do not kill animals in holes. He who protects himself through knowledge lives.
घास जलाने वाला और ओस सुखाने वाला यंत्र छेद में रहने वाले जानवरों को नहीं मारता। जो ज्ञान के द्वारा अपनी रक्षा करता है वह जीवित रहता है।
The blind man doesn't see the way, because the blind man has no sense of direction. He who doesn't have perseverance is never prosperous. Know this and be alert.
अंधे आदमी को रास्ता नहीं दिखता, क्योंकि अंधे आदमी को दिशा का ज्ञान नहीं होता। जिसमें दृढ़ता नहीं है वह कभी समृद्ध नहीं होता। ये जानें और सतर्क रहें.
Through travelling, a man gets to know the way and from the stars can deduce the directions. He who keeps the five under self-control is never oppressed by the enemy."
यात्रा से मनुष्य को रास्ते का ज्ञान हो जाता है तथा तारों से दिशा का पता चल जाता है। जो इन पांचों को अपने वश में रखता है, उस पर शत्रु कभी अत्याचार नहीं करता।''

Having thus addressed the Pāṇḍava-s, Vidūra circled them, and having said farewell, returned to his house.

"What did kshatta tell you among so many people? He spoke as if he said nothing and you replied similarly. We have not understood.
"इतने सारे लोगों के बीच क्षता ने तुमसे क्या कहा? वह ऐसे बोला जैसे उसने कुछ कहा ही न हो और तुमने भी वैसा ही जवाब दिया। हम समझ नहीं पाए।"

श्रोतुमिच्छामि तत्सर्वं संवादं तव तस्य च
If it is not inappropriate that we should know, I wish to know what you spoke to each other."

Yudhiṣṭhira replied: "Vidūra said that there is danger from poison and fire and that there should be no path that I do not know.

अष्टमेऽहनि रोहिण्यां प्रयाताः फल्गुनस्य ते
वारणावतमासाद्य ददृशुर्नागरं जनम्
Vaiśampāyana said: On the eighth day of the month of Phālguna, when Rohiṇī was in the ascendant, they left for Vāraṇāvata and saw the city and its people.
वैशम्पायन ने कहा: फाल्गुन महीने के आठवें दिन, जब रोहिणी लग्न में थी, वे वारणावत के लिए रवाना हुए और शहर और उसके लोगों को देखा।
