संजय उवाच आत्मापराधात्संभूतं व्यसनं भरतर्षभ प्राप्य प्राकृतवद्वीर न त्वं शोचितुमर्हसि

Sañjaya said: O bull among the Bhārata lineage! This hardship is the result of your own transgressions. O brave one! You should not grieve like an ordinary person.

संजय ने कहा: हे भरत वंश के बैल! यह कठिनाई तुम्हारे ही अपराधों का परिणाम है। हे वीर! तुम्हें साधारण मनुष्य की भाँति शोक नहीं करना चाहिये।

तव निर्गुणतां ज्ञात्वा पक्षपातं सुतेषु च द्वैधीभावं तथा धर्मे पाण्डवेषु च मत्सरम् आर्तप्रलापांश्च बहून्मनुजाधिपसत्तम

O supreme among kings! Knowing your absence of qualities, your partiality towards your sons, your duplicity about dharma, your malice towards the Pāṇḍava-s and your many piteous lamentations,

हे राजाओं में श्रेष्ठ! तुम्हारे गुणों का अभाव, अपने पुत्रों के प्रति तुम्हारा पक्षपात, धर्म के विषय में तुम्हारा द्वंद्व, पांडवों के प्रति तुम्हारा द्वेष तथा तुम्हारे अनेक करुण विलाप को जानकर,

सर्वलोकस्य तत्त्वज्ञः सर्वलोकगुरुः प्रभुः वासुदेवस्ततो युद्धं कुरूणामकरोन्महत्

Vāsudeva, the one who knows about all the worlds and the lord and preceptor of all the worlds, caused the great war to arise among the Kuru-s.

वासुदेव, जो सभी लोकों के बारे में जानते हैं और सभी लोकों के स्वामी और गुरु हैं, ने कुरु-स के बीच महान युद्ध उत्पन्न किया।

आत्मापराधात्सुमहान्प्राप्तस्ते विपुलः क्षयः न हि ते सुकृतं किंचिदादौ मध्ये च भारत दृश्यते पृष्ठतश्चैव त्वन्मूलो हि पराजयः

This great and pervasive destruction has arisen because of your own crimes. O descendant of the Bhārata lineage! No good deeds by you can be seen at the beginning, in the middle, or at the end. That is the root of this defeat.

यह महान एवं व्यापक विनाश आपके ही अपराधों के कारण उत्पन्न हुआ है। हे भरत वंश के वंशज! आपका कोई भी अच्छा कर्म न तो प्रारंभ में, न मध्य में और न ही अंत में देखा जा सकता है। यही इस हार की जड़ है.

तस्मादद्य स्थिरो भूत्वा ज्ञात्वा लोकस्य निर्णयम् शृणु युद्धं यथा वृत्तं घोरं देवासुरोपमम्

Therefore, knowing the fate of this world, be patient and listen to how the battle raged, like the terrible one between the gods and the āsura-s.

इसलिए, इस संसार के भाग्य को जानकर, धैर्य रखें और सुनें कि देवताओं और असुरों के बीच कैसे भयानक युद्ध हुआ।

प्रविष्टे तव सैन्यं तु शैनेये सत्यविक्रमे भीमसेनमुखाः पार्थाः प्रतीयुर्वाहिनीं तव

Śini's descendant, with truth as his valour, penetrated amidst your soldiers. The Pārtha-s, with Bhīmasena at the forefront, advanced against your army.

शिनि का वंशज, सत्य को अपनी वीरता के साथ, आपके सैनिकों के बीच घुस गया। भीमसेन को आगे लेकर पार्थ आपकी सेना के विरुद्ध आगे बढ़े।

आगच्छतस्तान्सहसा क्रुद्धरूपान्सहानुगान् दधारैको रणे पाण्डून्कृतवर्मा महारथः

Mahāratha Kritavarma alone resisted the Pāṇḍu-s in that battle, as they arrived in violence and anger, together with their followers.

उस युद्ध में महारथ कृतवर्मा ने अकेले ही पांडु-वंश का विरोध किया, क्योंकि वे अपने अनुयायियों के साथ हिंसा और क्रोध में आ गए थे।

यथोद्वृत्तं धारयते वेला वै सलिलार्णवम् पाण्डुसैन्यं तथा संख्ये हार्दिक्यः समवारयत्

Just as the shoreline holds back the salty ocean, Hārdikya repulsed the Pāṇḍu soldiers in that battle.

जिस प्रकार तटरेखा खारे सागर को रोक लेती है, उसी प्रकार हार्दिक्य ने उस युद्ध में पाण्डु सैनिकों को खदेड़ दिया।

तत्राद्भुतममन्यन्त हार्दिक्यस्य पराक्रमम् यदेनं सहिताः पार्था नातिचक्रमुराहवे

Hārdikya's valour was regarded as extraordinary. The united Pārtha-s could not crush him in that battle.

हार्दिक्य की वीरता असाधारण मानी जाती थी। संयुक्त पार्थ-एस उस युद्ध में उसे कुचल नहीं सका।

ततो भीमस्त्रिभिर्विद्ध्वा कृतवर्माणमायसैः शङ्खं दध्मौ महाबाहुर्हर्षयन्सर्वपाण्डवान्

The mighty-armed Bhīmā pierced Kritavarma with three iron arrows and blew on his conch shell, delighting all the Pāṇḍava-s.

महाबाहु भीम ने तीन लोहे के बाणों से कृतवर्मा को घायल कर दिया और उसके शंख को बजाकर सभी पांडवों को प्रसन्न कर दिया।

सहदेवस्तु विंशत्या धर्मराजश्च पञ्चभिः शतेन नकुलश्चापि हार्दिक्यं समविध्यत

Sahadeva pierced Hārdikya with twenty arrows, Dharmarāja with five and Nākula with one hundred.

सहदेव ने हार्दिक्य को बीस, धर्मराज को पाँच और नकुल को एक सौ बाणों से घायल कर दिया।

द्रौपदेयास्त्रिसप्तत्या सप्तभिश्च घटोत्कचः धृष्टद्युम्नस्त्रिभिश्चापि कृतवर्माणमार्दयत् विराटो द्रुपदश्चैव याज्ञसेनिश्च पञ्चभिः

Draupadī's sons pierced him with seventy-three, Ghaṭotkaca with seven and Dhṛṣṭadyumna struck Kritavarma with three. Virāṭa, Drupada and Yajñasena's son pierced him with five each.

द्रौपदी के पुत्रों ने तिहत्तर से, घटोत्कच ने सात से और धृष्टद्युम्न ने तीन से कृतवर्मा को घायल कर दिया। विराट, द्रुपद तथा यज्ञसेन के पुत्र ने उसे पाँच-पाँच प्रहारों से घायल कर दिया।

शिखण्डी चापि हार्दिक्यं विद्ध्वा पञ्चभिराशुगैः पुनर्विव्याध विंशत्या सायकानां हसन्निव

Śikhaṇḍī pierced Hārdikya with five swift arrows and laughing, again pierced him with twenty arrows.

शिखण्डी ने पाँच तीव्र बाणों से हार्दिक्य को घायल कर दिया और हँसते हुए पुनः बीस बाणों से घायल कर दिया।

कृतवर्मा ततो राजन्सर्वतस्तान्महारथान् एकैकं पञ्चभिर्विद्ध्वा भीमं विव्याध सप्तभिः धनुर्ध्वजं च संयत्तो रथाद्भूमावपातयत्

O king! Kritavarma pierced each of those mahāratha-s with five arrows and piercing Bhīmā with seven, brought down his bow and his standard from his chariot.

हे राजा! कृतवर्मा ने उन महारथियों में से प्रत्येक को पाँच बाणों से घायल कर दिया और भीम को सात बाणों से घायल कर दिया, उनके धनुष और उनके रथ से उनके ध्वज को नीचे गिरा दिया।

अथैनं छिन्नधन्वानं त्वरमाणो महारथः आजघानोरसि क्रुद्धः सप्तत्या निशितैः शरैः

Once the bow was severed, the spirited mahāratha angrily struck him in the chest with seventy arrows.

एक बार धनुष टूट जाने पर, उत्साही महारथ ने क्रोधपूर्वक उसकी छाती में सत्तर बाणों से प्रहार किया।

स गाढविद्धो बलवान्हार्दिक्यस्य शरोत्तमैः चचाल रथमध्यस्थः क्षितिकम्पे यथाचलः

Having been severely and powerfully struck by Hārdikya's supreme arrows, he trembled on his chariot, like a mountain during an earthquake.

हार्दिक्य के परम बाणों से गंभीर और शक्तिशाली रूप से घायल होने के बाद, वह अपने रथ पर ऐसे कांपने लगा, जैसे भूकंप के दौरान पहाड़ कांपता है।

भीमसेनं तथा दृष्ट्वा धर्मराजपुरोगमाः विसृजन्तः शरान्घोरान्कृतवर्माणमार्दयन्

On seeing Bhīmasena in that state, they, with Dharmarāja at the forefront, afflicted Kritavarma with the release of terrible arrows.

भीमसेन को उस अवस्था में देखकर, धर्मराज को सबसे आगे रखते हुए, उन्होंने भयानक बाण छोड़ कर कृतवर्मा को घायल कर दिया।

तं तथा कोष्ठकीकृत्य रथवंशेन मारिष विव्यधुः सायकैर्हृष्टा रक्षार्थं मारुतेर्मृधे

O venerable one! They hemmed him in with a large number of chariots. To protect the son of the wind god in the battle, they cheerfully pierced him with arrows.

हे आदरणीय! उन्होंने बड़ी संख्या में रथों से उसे घेर लिया। युद्ध में पवन देव के पुत्र की रक्षा के लिए उन्होंने प्रसन्नतापूर्वक उसे बाणों से घायल कर दिया।

प्रतिलभ्य ततः संज्ञां भीमसेनो महाबलः शक्तिं जग्राह समरे हेमदण्डामयस्मयीम् चिक्षेप च रथात्तूर्णं कृतवर्मरथं प्रति

The immensely strong Bhīmasena recovered his senses. In that encounter, he grasped an iron javelin with a golden handle. From his chariot, he swiftly hurled it towards Kritavarma's chariot.

अत्यंत बलवान भीमसेन को होश आ गया। उस मुठभेड़ में, उसने सुनहरे हैंडल वाला एक लोहे का भाला पकड़ लिया। उसने अपने रथ को तेजी से कृतवर्मा के रथ की ओर फेंक दिया।

सा भीमभुजनिर्मुक्ता निर्मुक्तोरगसंनिभा कृतवर्माणमभितः प्रजज्वाल सुदारुणा

Released from Bhīmā's arms, it was like a snake that has cast off its skin. Flaming extremely fiercely, it headed towards Kritavarma.

भीम की बाँहों से छूटकर वह ऐसे साँप के समान था जिसने अपनी केंचुली उतार दी हो। वह अत्यन्त भयंकर रूप से जलती हुई कृतवर्मा की ओर बढ़ी।

तामापतन्तीं सहसा युगान्ताग्निसमप्रभाम् द्वाभ्यां शराभ्यां हार्दिक्यो निचकर्त द्विधा तदा

On seeing it suddenly descend towards him, with a hue like that of the fire at the time of the destruction of a yuga, Hārdikya used two arrows to slice it into two.

युग के विनाश के समय आग के समान रंग वाली उसे अचानक अपनी ओर आते देख हार्दिक्य ने दो बाणों का उपयोग करके उसे दो भागों में काट दिया।

सा छिन्ना पतिता भूमौ शक्तिः कनकभूषणा द्योतयन्ती दिशो राजन्महोल्केव दिवश्च्युता शक्तिं विनिहतां दृष्ट्वा भीमश्चुक्रोध वै भृशम्

That javelin, decorated with gold, was severed and fell down on the ground. O king! It illuminated the directions, like a giant meteor that has been dislodged from the sky. On seeing that the javelin had been destroyed, Bhīmā was extremely enraged.

सोने से सजा हुआ वह भाला टूटकर भूमि पर गिर पड़ा। हे राजा! आकाश से टूटे हुए विशाल उल्का के समान इसने दिशाओं को प्रकाशित कर दिया। यह देखकर कि भाला नष्ट हो गया, भीम अत्यंत क्रोधित हुए।

ततोऽन्यद्धनुरादाय वेगवत्सुमहास्वनम् भीमसेनो रणे क्रुद्धो हार्दिक्यं समवारयत्

He picked up another bow that was forceful and made a great sound. In that battle, Bhīmasena angrily attacked Hārdikya

उसने दूसरा धनुष उठाया जो बहुत शक्तिशाली था और महान ध्वनि करता था। उस युद्ध में भीमसेन ने क्रोधपूर्वक हार्दिक्य पर आक्रमण कर दिया

अथैनं पञ्चभिर्बाणैराजघान स्तनान्तरे भीमो भीमबलो राजंस्तव दुर्मन्त्रितेन ह

and struck him between the breasts with five arrows. O king! Bhīmā was terrible in his strength and all this was because of your evil policy.

और पाँच बाणों से उसकी छाती के बीच में प्रहार किया। हे राजा! भीम अपनी ताकत में भयानक था और यह सब आपकी बुरी नीति के कारण था।

भोजस्तु क्षतसर्वाङ्गो भीमसेनेन मारिष रक्ताशोक इवोत्फुल्लो व्यभ्राजत रणाजिरे

O venerable one! Bhīmasena mangled Bhojā in all his limbs. In that field of battle, he was as beautiful as a red aśoka tree that was blooming.

हे आदरणीय! भीमसेन ने भोज को उसके सभी अंगों से क्षत-विक्षत कर दिया। युद्ध के उस मैदान में वह खिले हुए लाल अशोक वृक्ष के समान सुन्दर था।

ततः क्रुद्धस्त्रिभिर्बाणैर्भीमसेनं हसन्निव अभिहत्य दृढं युद्धे तान्सर्वान्प्रत्यविध्यत

However, that great archer only laughed. In that battle, he angrily struck Bhīmasena with three arrows.

हालाँकि, वह महान धनुर्धर केवल हँसा। उस युद्ध में उसने क्रोधपूर्वक भीमसेन पर तीन बाणों से प्रहार किया।

त्रिभिस्त्रिभिर्महेष्वासो यतमानान्महारथान् तेऽपि तं प्रत्यविध्यन्त सप्तभिः सप्तभिः शरैः

Then firmly and carefully, he pierced those mahāratha-s back with three arrows each. They also pierced him back with seven arrows each.

फिर दृढ़ता और सावधानी से उन्होंने उन महारथियों की पीठ को तीन-तीन बाणों से बींध डाला। उन्होंने भी उसे सात-सात बाणों से घायल कर दिया।

शिखण्डिनस्ततः क्रुद्धः क्षुरप्रेण महारथः धनुश्चिच्छेद समरे प्रहसन्निव भारत

O descendant of the Bhārata lineage! In that encounter, the mahāratha laughed and wrathfully used a kṣurapra arrow to sever Śikhaṇḍī's bow.

हे भरत वंश के वंशज! उस मुठभेड़ में, महारथी हँसे और क्रोधपूर्वक शिखंडी के धनुष को तोड़ने के लिए कुशुरप्र बाण का इस्तेमाल किया।

शिखण्डी तु ततः क्रुद्धश्छिन्ने धनुषि सत्वरम् असिं जग्राह समरे शतचन्द्रं च भास्वरम्

On seeing that his bow had been severed, Śikhaṇḍī became angry. In that encounter, he grasped a sword and a brilliant shield that was marked with one hundred moons.

यह देखकर कि उसका धनुष टूट गया है, शिखंडी क्रोधित हो गया। उस मुठभेड़ में, उसके पास एक तलवार और एक शानदार ढाल थी जिस पर सौ चंद्रमाओं का निशान था।

भ्रामयित्वा महाचर्म चामीकरविभूषितम् तमसिं प्रेषयामास कृतवर्मरथं प्रति

He whirled that giant shield, which was decorated with gold and dispatched the sword towards Kritavarma's chariot.

उसने उस विशाल ढाल को घुमाया, जो सोने से सजी थी और तलवार को कृतवर्मा के रथ की ओर भेज दिया।

स तस्य सशरं चापं छित्त्वा संख्ये महानसिः अभ्यगाद्धरणीं राजंश्च्युतं ज्योतिरिवाम्बरात्

O king! In that encounter, the giant sword severed his bow and arrow and fell down on the ground, like a stellar body dislodged from the firmament.

हे राजा! उस मुठभेड़ में, विशाल तलवार ने उनके धनुष और तीर को तोड़ दिया और जमीन पर गिर गई, जैसे कोई तारकीय पिंड आकाश से उखड़ गया हो।

एतस्मिन्नेव काले तु त्वरमाणा महारथाः विव्यधुः सायकैर्गाढं कृतवर्माणमाहवे

At the same time, in the battle, those mahāratha-s quickly and severely pierced Kritavarma with arrows.

उसी समय युद्ध में उन महारथियों ने बाणों से कृतवर्मा को शीघ्रतापूर्वक और गंभीर रूप से घायल कर दिया।

अथान्यद्धनुरादाय त्यक्त्वा तच्च महद्धनुः विशीर्णं भरतश्रेष्ठ हार्दिक्यः परवीरहा

O foremost among the Bhārata lineage! Hārdikya, the destroyer of enemy heroes, discarded the giant bow, which had been shattered.

हे भरत वंश में अग्रणी! शत्रु वीरों का संहार करने वाले हार्दिक्य ने विशाल धनुष को त्याग दिया, जो टूट गया था।

विव्याध पाण्डवान्युद्धे त्रिभिस्त्रिभिरजिह्मगैः शिखण्डिनं च विव्याध त्रिभिः पञ्चभिरेव च

In that encounter, he picked up another bow and pierced each of the Pāṇḍava-s with three arrows. He pierced Śikhaṇḍī with three arrows, and then yet again with another five.

उस मुठभेड़ में, उसने एक और धनुष उठाया और प्रत्येक पांडव को तीन बाणों से घायल कर दिया। उसने शिखंडी को तीन बाणों से और फिर पांच बाणों से घायल कर दिया।

धनुरन्यत्समादाय शिखण्डी तु महायशाः अवारयत्कूर्मनखैराशुगैर्हृदिकात्मजम्

The immensely illustrious Śikhaṇḍī picked up another bow and countered Hṛdika's son with arrows that had heads made out of the nails of tortoises.

अत्यंत तेजस्वी शिखंडी ने दूसरा धनुष उठाया और कछुओं के नाखूनों से बने सिर वाले बाणों से हृदिका के पुत्र का मुकाबला किया।

ततः क्रुद्धो रणे राजन्हृदिकस्यात्मसंभवः अभिदुद्राव वेगेन याज्ञसेनिं महारथम्

O king! In that battle, Hṛdika's son became angry and powerfully attacked Yajñasena's mahāratha son,

हे राजा! उस युद्ध में हृदिक का पुत्र क्रोधित हो गया और उसने यज्ञसेन के महारथ पुत्र पर शक्तिशाली आक्रमण किया।

भीष्मस्य समरे राजन्मृत्योर्हेतुं महात्मनः विदर्शयन्बलं शूरः शार्दूल इव कुञ्जरम्

the one who was responsible for the death of the great-souled Bhīṣma in the battle. O king! The brave and powerful one attacked him, like a tiger against an elephant.

जो युद्ध में महाबली भीष्म की मृत्यु का उत्तरदायी था। हे राजा! बहादुर और शक्तिशाली व्यक्ति ने उस पर हमला किया, जैसे एक हाथी के खिलाफ एक बाघ।

तौ दिशागजसंकाशौ ज्वलिताविव पावकौ समासेदतुरन्योन्यं शरसंघैररिंदमौ

Those two were like flaming fires, or two elephants in charge of the directions. Those destroyers of enemies clashed against each other with a torrent of arrows and released showers of arrows at each other.

वे दोनों धधकती हुई आग, या दिशाओं के प्रभारी दो हाथियों के समान थे। शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाले वे लोग बाणों की धारा लेकर एक-दूसरे पर टूट पड़े और एक-दूसरे पर बाणों की वर्षा करने लगे।

विधुन्वानौ धनुःश्रेष्ठे संदधानौ च सायकान् विसृजन्तौ च शतशो गभस्तीनिव भास्करौ

They had the best of bows and they released hundreds of arrows, like the rays of two suns in the sky.

उनके पास सर्वोत्तम धनुष थे और उन्होंने आकाश में दो सूर्यों की किरणों के समान सैकड़ों बाण छोड़े।

तापयन्तौ शरैस्तीक्ष्णैरन्योन्यं तौ महारथौ युगान्तप्रतिमौ वीरौ रेजतुर्भास्कराविव

Those two mahāratha-s tormented each other with their sharp arrows. Those two brave ones were as resplendent as suns at the end of a yuga.

उन दोनों महारथियों ने अपने तीखे बाणों से एक-दूसरे को पीड़ा पहुँचायी। वे दोनों वीर युग के अन्त में सूर्य के समान देदीप्यमान थे।

कृतवर्मा तु रभसं याज्ञसेनिं महारथम् विद्ध्वेषूणां त्रिसप्तत्या पुनर्विव्याध सप्तभिः

Kritavarma fiercely struck Yajñasena's mahāratha son with seventy-three arrows and pierced him again with another seven.

कृतवर्मा ने यज्ञसेन के महारथ पुत्र को तिहत्तर बाणों से भयंकर आघात पहुँचाया और पुनः सात बाणों से उसे घायल कर दिया।

स गाढविद्धो व्यथितो रथोपस्थ उपाविशत् विसृजन्सशरं चापं मूर्छयाभिपरिप्लुतः

Severely pierced and wounded, he sat down on the floor of his chariot, letting go of his bow and arrows and becoming unconscious.

गंभीर रूप से घायल और घायल होकर, वह अपने रथ के फर्श पर बैठ गया, जिससे उसका धनुष और बाण छूट गया और वह बेहोश हो गया।

O bull among the Bhārata lineage! On seeing him thus distressed in the battle, those on your side honoured Hārdikya and waved their garments around in the air.

हे भरत वंश में बैल! युद्ध में उन्हें इस प्रकार व्यथित देखकर आपके पक्ष के लोगों ने हार्दिक्य का सम्मान किया और अपने वस्त्र हवा में इधर-उधर लहराये।

शिखण्डिनं तथा ज्ञात्वा हार्दिक्यशरपीडितम् अपोवाह रणाद्यन्ता त्वरमाणो महारथम्

On discerning that Śikhaṇḍī was thus afflicted by Hārdikya's arrows, his charioteer swifly bore the mahāratha away from the field of battle.

यह जानने पर कि शिखंडी हार्दिक्य के बाणों से पीड़ित है, उसके सारथी ने तेजी से महारथ को युद्ध के मैदान से दूर खींच लिया।

सादितं तु रथोपस्थे दृष्ट्वा पार्थाः शिखण्डिनम् परिवव्रू रथैस्तूर्णं कृतवर्माणमाहवे

On seeing Śikhaṇḍī on the floor of the chariot in the battle, the Pārtha-s quickly surrounded Kritavarma with chariots.

युद्ध में शिखंडी को रथ के फर्श पर देखकर पार्थियों ने शीघ्र ही रथों सहित कृतवर्मा को घेर लिया।

तत्राद्भुतं परं चक्रे कृतवर्मा महारथः यदेकः समरे पार्थान्वारयामास सानुगान्

Mahāratha Kritavarma accomplished a supreme wonder there. In that battle, he single-handedly repulsed the Pārtha-s and their followers.

महारथ कृतवर्मा ने वहाँ एक परम आश्चर्य किया। उस युद्ध में उन्होंने अकेले ही पार्थों और उनके अनुयायियों को खदेड़ दिया।

पार्थाञ्जित्वाजयच्चेदीन्पाञ्चालान्सृञ्जयानपि केकयांश्च महावीर्यान्कृतवर्मा महारथः

Having defeated the Pārtha-s, mahāratha Kritavarma vanquished the Cedi-s, the Pāñcāla-s, the Sṛñjaya-s and the Kekaya-s, all of whom were immensely valorous.

पार्थों को पराजित करने के बाद, महारथ कृतवर्मा ने चेदि, पंचाल, सृंजय और केकय को परास्त किया, जो सभी अत्यंत वीर थे।

ते वध्यमानाः समरे हार्दिक्येन स्म पाण्डवाः इतश्चेतश्च धावन्तो नैव चक्रुर्धृतिं रणे

In the battle, the Pāṇḍava-s were slaughtered by Hārdikya. In that encounter, they were unable to retain their spirits and fled in all directions, bereft of their senses.

युद्ध में हार्दिक्य द्वारा पांडवों का वध कर दिया गया। उस मुठभेड़ में, वे अपना उत्साह बनाए रखने में असमर्थ रहे और अपनी इंद्रियों से वंचित होकर सभी दिशाओं में भाग गए।

जित्वा पाण्डुसुतान्युद्धे भीमसेनपुरोगमान् हार्दिक्यः समरेऽतिष्ठद्विधूम इव पावकः

In the battle, Hārdikya defeated the sons of Pāṇḍu, with Bhīmasena at the forefront. He was stationed there, like a fire without smoke.

युद्ध में, हार्दिक्य ने पांडु के पुत्रों को हराया, जिसमें भीमसेन सबसे आगे थे। वह बिना धुंए की आग की तरह वहां तैनात था।

ते द्राव्यमाणाः समरे हार्दिक्येन महारथाः विमुखाः समपद्यन्त शरवृष्टिभिरर्दिताः

Those mahāratha-s were driven away by Hārdikya in the battle. They were afflicted by his shower of arrows and were forced to retreat.

युद्ध में हार्दिक्य ने उन महारथियों को खदेड़ दिया था। उसके बाणों की वर्षा से वे त्रस्त हो गये और पीछे हटने को विवश हो गये।
