युधिष्ठिर उवाच पितामहेन विधिवद्यज्ञाः प्रोक्ता महात्मना गुणाश्चैषां यथातत्त्वं प्रेत्य चेह च सर्वशः

Yudhisthira said: The great-souled grandfather has duly described the sacrifices, And their qualities, as they truly are, both in this world and the next.

युधिष्ठिर ने कहा: महात्मा पितामह ने इस लोक और परलोक दोनों में यज्ञों और उनके गुणों का यथावत् यथावत् वर्णन किया है।

न ते शक्या दरिद्रेण यज्ञाः प्राप्तुं पितामह बहूपकरणा यज्ञा नानासंभारविस्तराः

O Grandfather, it is not possible for a poor person to perform sacrifices. Sacrifices require many implements and are spread out over many resources.

हे दादा, किसी गरीब व्यक्ति के लिए यज्ञ करना संभव नहीं है। बलिदानों के लिए कई उपकरणों की आवश्यकता होती है और ये कई संसाधनों में फैले होते हैं।

पार्थिवै राजपुत्रैर्वा शक्याः प्राप्तुं पितामह नार्थन्यूनैरवगुणैरेकात्मभिरसंहतैः

O Grandfather, they can be attained by kings and princes, not by those who are poor in wealth, lacking in good qualities, of one mind, or not united.

हे पितामह, वे राजाओं और राजकुमारों द्वारा प्राप्त किए जा सकते हैं, न कि उन लोगों द्वारा जो धन में गरीब हैं, अच्छे गुणों से रहित हैं, एक मन वाले हैं, या एकजुट नहीं हैं।

यो दरिद्रैरपि विधिः शक्यः प्राप्तुं सदा भवेत् तुल्यो यज्ञफलैरेतैस्तन्मे ब्रूहि पितामह

O Grandfather, tell me about that which can always be attained by even the poor, and which is equal to the fruits of sacrifices.

हे दादा, मुझे उस चीज़ के बारे में बताएं जो हमेशा गरीबों को भी प्राप्त हो सकती है, और जो बलिदान के फल के बराबर है।

भीष्म उवाच इदमङ्गिरसा प्रोक्तमुपवासफलात्मकम् विधिं यज्ञफलैस्तुल्यं तन्निबोध युधिष्ठिर

Bhishma said: This is what was spoken by Angiras, consisting of the fruits of fasting, The procedure equal to the fruits of sacrifice. Know that, O Yudhishth

भीष्म ने कहा- यह व्रत के फल से युक्त, यज्ञ के फल के समान विधि, अंगिरस ने कहा है। हे युधिष्ठिर, यह जान लो

यस्तु कल्यं तथा सायं भुञ्जानो नान्तरा पिबेत् अहिंसानिरतो नित्यं जुह्वानो जातवेदसम्

One who eats in the morning and evening, not drinking in between, Always devoted to non-violence, offering oblations to the knower of all.

जो सुबह और शाम को खाता है, बीच में शराब नहीं पीता, हमेशा अहिंसा में समर्पित रहता है, सभी के ज्ञाता को हवि देता है।

षड्भिरेव तु वर्षैः स सिध्यते नात्र संशयः तप्तकाञ्चनवर्णं च विमानं लभते नरः

In just six years, there is no doubt about this, one attains success. The man obtains a chariot that is the color of heated gold.

मात्र छह वर्ष में ही व्यक्ति को सफलता मिल जाती है, इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं है। मनुष्य को एक ऐसा रथ प्राप्त होता है जो तपाए हुए सोने के रंग का होता है।

देवस्त्रीणामधीवासे नृत्यगीतनिनादिते प्राजापत्ये वसेत्पद्मं वर्षाणामग्निसंनिभे

In the abode of the celestial women, resounding with dancing and singing, One should dwell in the Prajapati abode, resembling fire, in the lotus of the rainy season.

नृत्य और गायन से गूंजने वाली दिव्य स्त्रियों के निवास में, वर्षा ऋतु के कमल में, अग्नि के समान, प्रजापति के निवास में निवास करना चाहिए।

त्रीणि वर्षाणि यः प्राशेत्सततं त्वेकभोजनम् धर्मपत्नीरतो नित्यमग्निष्टोमफलं लभेत्

One who eats only one meal a day for three years, and is always devoted to his lawful wife, attains the fruit of the Agniṣṭoma sacrifice.

जो व्यक्ति तीन वर्ष तक प्रतिदिन केवल एक बार भोजन करता है और सदैव अपनी वैध पत्नी के प्रति समर्पित रहता है, उसे अग्निष्टोम यज्ञ का फल प्राप्त होता है।

द्वितीये दिवसे यस्तु प्राश्नीयादेकभोजनम् सदा द्वादशमासांस्तु जुह्वानो जातवेदसम् यज्ञं बहुसुवर्णं वा वासवप्रियमाहरेत्

One who eats only one meal a day for two days and always offers oblations to the fire for twelve months can bring about a sacrifice with much gold, or one dear to Vasava.

जो व्यक्ति दो दिनों तक केवल एक बार भोजन करता है और बारह महीनों तक हमेशा अग्नि में आहुति देता है, वह बहुत सारे सोने के साथ या वासव के प्रिय बलिदान को ला सकता है।

सत्यवाग्दानशीलश्च ब्रह्मण्यश्चानसूयकः क्षान्तो दान्तो जितक्रोधः स गच्छति परां गतिम्

One who is truthful in speech, generous, disciplined, devoted to Brahman, and free from envy, Patient, self-controlled, and having conquered anger, attains the highest state.

जो वाणी में सच्चा, उदार, अनुशासित, ब्रह्म के प्रति समर्पित और ईर्ष्या से मुक्त, धैर्यवान, आत्मसंयमी और क्रोध पर विजय प्राप्त करने वाला होता है, वह सर्वोच्च गति प्राप्त करता है।

पाण्डुराभ्रप्रतीकाशे विमाने हंसलक्षणे द्वे समाप्ते ततः पद्मे सोऽप्सरोभिर्वसेत्सह

In a chariot resembling a white cloud, marked with a swan, And with two lotuses fully blossomed, he would dwell with the celestial nymphs.

वह सफेद बादल के समान दिखने वाले, हंस अंकित रथ पर और पूर्ण रूप से खिले हुए दो कमलों के साथ दिव्य अप्सराओं के साथ निवास करेगा।

तृतीये दिवसे यस्तु प्राश्नीयादेकभोजनम् सदा द्वादशमासांस्तु जुह्वानो जातवेदसम्

One who eats only one meal a day for three days, and always offers oblations to the knower of all for twelve months,

जो तीन दिन तक केवल एक ही बार भोजन करता है और बारह महीनों तक सर्वज्ञ को सदैव तर्पण देता है,

अतिरात्रस्य यज्ञस्य फलं प्राप्नोत्यनुत्तमम् मयूरहंससंयुक्तं विमानं लभते नरः

He attains the supreme fruit of the Atiratra sacrifice. The man obtains a chariot adorned with peacocks and swans.

उसे अतिरात्र यज्ञ का परम फल प्राप्त होता है। मनुष्य को मोर और हंसों से सुसज्जित रथ प्राप्त होता है।

सप्तर्षीणां सदा लोके सोऽप्सरोभिर्वसेत्सह निवर्तनं च तत्रास्य त्रीणि पद्मानि वै विदुः

He would always dwell in the world of the seven sages together with the celestial nymphs. And there, they know, are three lotuses for his return.

वह सदैव दिव्य अप्सराओं सहित सप्तर्षियों के लोक में निवास करता था। और वहाँ, वे जानते हैं, उसकी वापसी के लिए तीन कमल हैं।

दिवसे यश्चतुर्थे तु प्राश्नीयादेकभोजनम् सदा द्वादशमासान्वै जुह्वानो जातवेदसम्

One who eats once a day on the fourth day of the month, and always for twelve months, offering to the knower of the past, present and future,

जो व्यक्ति भूत, वर्तमान और भविष्य के जानने वाले को प्रसाद देकर महीने के चौथे दिन और हमेशा बारह महीने तक दिन में एक बार भोजन करता है,

वाजपेयस्य यज्ञस्य फलं प्राप्नोत्यनुत्तमम् इन्द्रकन्याभिरूढं च विमानं लभते नरः

He attains the supreme fruit of the Vājapeya sacrifice. The man obtains a chariot borne by Indra's daughters.

उसे वाजपेय यज्ञ का सर्वोच्च फल प्राप्त होता है। आदमी को इंद्र की बेटियों द्वारा वहन किया जाने वाला एक रथ प्राप्त होता है।

सागरस्य च पर्यन्ते वासवं लोकमावसेत् देवराजस्य च क्रीडां नित्यकालमवेक्षते

And at the edge of the ocean, he would dwell in the world of Vasava, And would always behold the play of the king of the gods.

और समुद्र के किनारे, वह वासव की दुनिया में निवास करेगा, और हमेशा देवताओं के राजा के खेल को देखेगा।

दिवसे पञ्चमे यस्तु प्राश्नीयादेकभोजनम् सदा द्वादशमासांस्तु जुह्वानो जातवेदसम्

One who eats only one meal a day for five days, and always offers oblations to the knower of all, for twelve months,

जो व्यक्ति पांच दिनों तक केवल एक बार भोजन करता है और बारह महीनों तक सर्वज्ञ को सदैव तर्पण देता है,

अलुब्धः सत्यवादी च ब्रह्मण्यश्चाविहिंसकः अनसूयुरपापस्थो द्वादशाहफलं लभेत्

One who is not greedy, truthful, devoted to Brahman, non-violent, not envious, not in a sinful state, obtains the fruit of the twelve-day vow.

जो लोभी नहीं है, सच्चा है, ब्रह्मभक्त है, अहिंसक है, ईर्ष्यालु नहीं है, पापी नहीं है, उसे बारह दिन के व्रत का फल मिलता है।

जाम्बूनदमयं दिव्यं विमानं हंसलक्षणम् सूर्यमालासमाभासमारोहेत्पाण्डुरं गृहम्

He should ascend to a white house that is a divine celestial chariot made of gold, marked with a swan, and shining like a garland of suns.

उसे एक सफेद घर पर चढ़ना चाहिए जो सोने से बना एक दिव्य दिव्य रथ है, जो हंस से चिह्नित है, और सूर्य की माला की तरह चमक रहा है।

आवर्तनानि चत्वारि तथा पद्मानि द्वादश शराग्निपरिमाणं च तत्रासौ वसते सुखम्

चार भँवर और बारह कमल तथा बाण की अग्नि के माप के बराबर वह वहाँ सुखपूर्वक निवास करता है।

दिवसे यस्तु षष्ठे वै मुनिः प्राशेत भोजनम् सदा द्वादशमासान्वै जुह्वानो जातवेदसम्

One who eats once a day on the sixth day of the month, and always for twelve months, offering to the knower of the past, present and future,

जो व्यक्ति महीने के छठे दिन एक बार और बारह महीने तक हमेशा भूत, वर्तमान और भविष्य के ज्ञाता को प्रसाद चढ़ाकर भोजन करता है,

सदा त्रिषवणस्नायी ब्रह्मचार्यनसूयकः गवामयस्य यज्ञस्य फलं प्राप्नोत्यनुत्तमम्

One who always bathes three times a day, is celibate, and is not envious, attains the supreme fruit of the sacrifice of the cows.

जो सदैव दिन में तीन बार स्नान करता है, ब्रह्मचारी है और ईर्ष्यालु नहीं है, वह गौ-यज्ञ का परम फल पाता है।

अग्निज्वालासमाभासं हंसबर्हिणसेवितम् शातकुम्भमयं युक्तं साधयेद्यानमुत्तमम्

Resembling the flames of fire, frequented by swans and peacocks, Made of gold, yoked, one should accomplish the excellent vehicle.

आग की लपटों के समान, हंसों और मोरों द्वारा विचरण करने वाला, सोने का बना हुआ, जुए से जुड़ा हुआ, उत्तम वाहन को सिद्ध करना चाहिए।

तथैवाप्सरसामङ्के प्रसुप्तः प्रतिबुध्यते नूपुराणां निनादेन मेखलानां च निस्वनैः

And he wakes up in the lap of the apsarases. By the sound of anklets and the jingling of girdles,

और वह अप्सराओं की गोद में जाग उठता है। पायल की आवाज़ और करधनी की झनकार से,

कोटीसहस्रं वर्षाणां त्रीणि कोटिशतानि च पद्मान्यष्टादश तथा पताके द्वे तथैव च

For three thousand two hundred million years, eighteen lotuses, and two banners.

तीन हजार दो सौ करोड़ वर्षों तक, अठारह कमल और दो ध्वजाएँ।

अयुतानि च पञ्चाशदृक्षचर्मशतस्य च लोम्नां प्रमाणेन समं ब्रह्मलोके महीयते

And fifty thousand, and a hundred of the skin of the Rk, By the measure of the hair, he is exalted in the world of Brahma.

और पचास हजार, और र्क की त्वचा के एक सौ, बालों के माप से, वह ब्रह्मा की दुनिया में ऊंचा हो गया है।

दिवसे सप्तमे यस्तु प्राश्नीयादेकभोजनम् सदा द्वादशमासान्वै जुह्वानो जातवेदसम्

One who eats only one meal a day for seven days, and always offers oblations to the knower of all, for twelve months,

जो सात दिनों तक केवल एक ही बार भोजन करता है और बारह महीनों तक सर्वज्ञ को सदैव तर्पण देता है,

सरस्वतीं गोपयानो ब्रह्मचर्यं समाचरन् सुमनोवर्णकं चैव मधुमांसं च वर्जयेत्

While protecting Sarasvati, one should practice celibacy. One should avoid flowers, colors, honey, and meat.

सरस्वती की रक्षा करते हुए ब्रह्मचर्य का पालन करना चाहिए। फूल, रंग, शहद और मांस से परहेज करना चाहिए।

पुरुषो मरुतां लोकमिन्द्रलोकं च गच्छति तत्र तत्र च सिद्धार्थो देवकन्याभिरुह्यते

He goes to the world of the Maruts and to the world of Indra, and there, having accomplished his purpose, he is borne by celestial maidens.

वह मरुतों की दुनिया और इंद्र की दुनिया में जाता है, और वहां, अपना उद्देश्य पूरा करने के बाद, वह दिव्य युवतियों द्वारा पैदा किया जाता है।

फलं बहुसुवर्णस्य यज्ञस्य लभते नरः संख्यामतिगुणां चापि तेषु लोकेषु मोदते

The man obtains the fruit of a sacrifice with many gold coins. He rejoices in those worlds with a number of qualities.

यज्ञ का फल मनुष्य को बहुत सी स्वर्ण मुद्राओं से प्राप्त होता है। वह अनेक गुणों के साथ उन लोकों में आनन्द मनाता है।

यस्तु संवत्सरं क्षान्तो भुङ्क्तेऽहन्यष्टमे नरः देवकार्यपरो नित्यं जुह्वानो जातवेदसम्

One who is patient for a year and eats on the eighth day of every month, Always engaged in divine activities and offering oblations to the fire.

जो एक वर्ष तक धैर्यवान रहता है और हर माह की अष्टमी को भोजन करता है, सदैव दैवीय कार्यों में लगा रहता है और अग्नि में आहुतियां देता है।

पौण्डरीकस्य यज्ञस्य फलं प्राप्नोत्यनुत्तमम् पद्मवर्णनिभं चैव विमानमधिरोहति

He attains the supreme fruit of the sacrifice of Pundarika. He ascends a celestial chariot that is the color of a lotus.

उसे पुण्डरीक के यज्ञ का परम फल प्राप्त होता है। वह कमल के रंग के दिव्य रथ पर चढ़ते हैं।

कृष्णाः कनकगौर्यश्च नार्यः श्यामास्तथापराः वयोरूपविलासिन्यो लभते नात्र संशयः

The dark ones, the golden ones, the fair ones, and the dark ones, the young ones, the beautiful ones, the playful ones - there is no doubt that they will attain.

काले वाले, सुनहरे वाले, गोरे वाले, और काले वाले, युवा, सुंदर, चंचल - इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं है कि वे प्राप्त करेंगे।

यस्तु संवत्सरं भुङ्क्ते नवमे नवमेऽहनि सदा द्वादशमासान्वै जुह्वानो जातवेदसम्

One who eats every ninth day for a year, always offering to the knower of the born, for twelve months,

अश्वमेधस्य यज्ञस्य फलं प्राप्नोति मानवः पुण्डरीकप्रकाशं च विमानं लभते नरः

The man obtains the fruit of the horse sacrifice. The man obtains a celestial chariot shining like a lotus.

मनुष्य को अश्वयज्ञ का फल प्राप्त होता है। मनुष्य को कमल के समान चमकने वाला दिव्य रथ प्राप्त होता है।

दीप्तसूर्याग्नितेजोभिर्दिव्यमालाभिरेव च नीयते रुद्रकन्याभिः सोऽन्तरिक्षं सनातनम्

By the rays of the shining sun and fire, and by divine garlands, He is led through the sky by the daughters of Rudra, that eternal one.

चमकते सूरज और आग की किरणों और दिव्य मालाओं द्वारा, वह शाश्वत रुद्र की बेटियों द्वारा आकाश के माध्यम से ले जाया जाता है।

One who eats for a year, after ten days have passed, Always for twelve months, offering to the knower of the born,

जो दस दिन बीत जाने पर एक वर्ष तक भोजन करता है, और बारह महीने तक सदैव जन्म के ज्ञाता को भेंट चढ़ाता है,

ब्रह्मकन्यानिवेशे च सर्वभूतमनोहरे अश्वमेधसहस्रस्य फलं प्राप्नोत्यनुत्तमम्

In the abode of Brahma's daughter, enchanting to all beings, One attains the supreme fruit of a thousand horse sacrifices.

ब्रह्मा की पुत्री के निवास में, सभी प्राणियों को मोहित करने वाली, एक हजार अश्व यज्ञों का सर्वोच्च फल प्राप्त करती है।

रूपवत्यश्च तं कन्या रमयन्ति सदा नरम् नीलोत्पलनिभैर्वर्णै रक्तोत्पलनिभैस्तथा

And the women of form, always delighting the man, With colors like blue lotuses and also like red lotuses,

और रूप वाली स्त्रियाँ, जो सदैव पुरुष को प्रसन्न करती हैं, नीले कमल के समान और लाल कमल के समान रंग वाली,

विमानं मण्डलावर्तमावर्तगहनावृतम् सागरोर्मिप्रतीकाशं साधयेद्यानमुत्तमम्

The vehicle that is like the ocean waves, is covered by the whirling of the circle, is like the ocean waves, one should accomplish the supreme vehicle.

जो वाहन समुद्र की लहरों के समान है, चक्र के चक्कर से ढका हुआ है, समुद्र की लहरों के समान है, उसे सर्वोच्च वाहन को पूरा करना चाहिए।

विचित्रमणिमालाभिर्नादितं शङ्खपुष्करैः स्फाटिकैर्वज्रसारैश्च स्तम्भैः सुकृतवेदिकम् आरोहति महद्यानं हंससारसवाहनम्

Resounding with various garlands of gems and conch shells, With pillars of crystal and diamond, well-constructed and paved, He ascends the great garden, with swans and cranes as vehicles.

रत्नों और शंखों की विभिन्न मालाओं से गूंजते हुए, क्रिस्टल और हीरे के खंभों के साथ, अच्छी तरह से निर्मित और प्रशस्त, वह हंस और सारस को वाहन के रूप में लेकर महान उद्यान में चढ़ता है।

एकादशे तु दिवसे यः प्राप्ते प्राशते हविः सदा द्वादशमासान्वै जुह्वानो जातवेदसम्

One who eats the oblation on the eleventh day, and one who offers oblations to the knower of all, for twelve months,

जो ग्यारहवें दिन हव्य खाता है, और जो सर्वज्ञ को बारह महीने तक हव्य देता है,

परस्त्रियो नाभिलषेद्वाचाथ मनसापि वा अनृतं च न भाषेत मातापित्रोः कृतेऽपि वा

He should not desire another's wife even in speech or mind, And should not speak untruth even for the sake of mother and father.

उसे वाणी और मन से भी दूसरे की पत्नी की इच्छा नहीं करनी चाहिए और माता और पिता के लिए भी असत्य नहीं बोलना चाहिए।

अभिगच्छेन्महादेवं विमानस्थं महाबलम् स्वयंभुवं च पश्येत विमानं समुपस्थितम्

He should approach the greatly powerful Mahadeva, dwelling in a celestial vehicle, And should see the self-existent one, who has come in a celestial vehicle.

उसे दिव्य वाहन पर सवार अत्यंत शक्तिशाली महादेव के पास जाना चाहिए, और स्वयंभू महादेव का दर्शन करना चाहिए, जो दिव्य वाहन पर सवार होकर आए हैं।

कुमार्यः काञ्चनाभासा रूपवत्यो नयन्ति तम् रुद्राणां तमधीवासं दिवि दिव्यं मनोहरम्

The maidens, golden-hued and beautiful, lead him to the abode of the Rudras in heaven, divine and enchanting.

सुनहरे रंग वाली और सुंदर युवतियां उन्हें दिव्य और मनमोहक स्वर्ग में रुद्रों के निवास तक ले जाती हैं।

वर्षाण्यपरिमेयानि युगान्तमपि चावसेत् कोटीशतसहस्रं च दश कोटिशतानि च

He would live for countless years, even until the end of the eon, and for a hundred thousand million times ten million.

वह अनगिनत वर्षों तक जीवित रहेगा, यहाँ तक कि युग के अंत तक, और एक सौ हज़ार मिलियन गुना दस मिलियन तक।

रुद्रं नित्यं प्रणमते देवदानवसंमतम् स तस्मै दर्शनं प्राप्तो दिवसे दिवसे भवेत्

He always bows to Rudra, who is respected by gods and demons. He would attain his vision every day.

दिवसे द्वादशे यस्तु प्राप्ते वै प्राशते हविः सदा द्वादशमासान्वै सर्वमेधफलं लभेत्

One who eats the oblation on the twelfth day of the month Obtains the fruit of the Sarvamedha sacrifice for twelve months.

जो व्यक्ति महीने के बारहवें दिन हव्य खाता है, उसे बारह महीनों तक सर्वमेध यज्ञ का फल मिलता है।

आदित्यैर्द्वादशैस्तस्य विमानं संविधीयते मणिमुक्ताप्रवालैश्च महार्हैरुपशोभितम्

The chariot is made with twelve suns, adorned with precious gems, pearls, coral, and other precious things.

रथ बारह सूर्यों से बना है, जो बहुमूल्य रत्नों, मोतियों, मूंगा और अन्य बहुमूल्य वस्तुओं से सुसज्जित है।

हंसमालापरिक्षिप्तं नागवीथीसमाकुलम् मयूरैश्चक्रवाकैश्च कूजद्भिरुपशोभितम्

Surrounded by a garland of swans, crowded with rows of elephants, Adorned with peacocks and ruddy geese that cry out,

हंसों की माला से घिरे हुए, हाथियों की कतारों से घिरे हुए, चिल्लाते हुए मोरों और सुर्ख हंसों से सुशोभित,

अट्टैर्महद्भिः संयुक्तं ब्रह्मलोके प्रतिष्ठितम् नित्यमावसते राजन्नरनारीसमावृतम् ऋषिरेवं महाभागस्त्वङ्गिराः प्राह धर्मवित्

It is connected with great temples and is established in the world of Brahma. It is always inhabited by kings and women. Thus spoke the sage Angiras, the very fortunate one, who knew

यह महान मंदिरों से जुड़ा हुआ है और ब्रह्मा के लोक में स्थापित है। इसमें सदैव राजा और स्त्रियाँ निवास करती हैं। इस प्रकार परम भाग्यशाली महर्षि अंगिरस ने कहा, जो यह जानते थे

अठारहवें दिन केवल एक बार ही भोजन करना चाहिए। बारह महीनों तक सातों लोकों का दर्शन होता रहता है।

रथैः सनन्दिघोषैश्च पृष्ठतः सोऽनुगम्यते देवकन्याधिरूढैस्तु भ्राजमानैः स्वलंकृतैः

एकोनविंशे दिवसे यो भुङ्क्ते एकभोजनम् सदा द्वादश मासान्वै सप्त लोकान्स पश्यति

जो उन्नीसवें दिन तथा सदैव बारह महीने तक एक बार भोजन करता है, वह सातों लोकों को देखता है।

उत्तमं लभते स्थानमप्सरोगणसेवितम् गन्धर्वैरुपगीतं च विमानं सूर्यवर्चसम्

He attains the supreme place, attended by groups of celestial nymphs, sung by gandharvas, a celestial chariot shining like the sun.

देवर्षिचरितं राजन्राजर्षिभिरधिष्ठितम् अध्यावसति दिव्यात्मा विमानवरमास्थितः

The abode of the divine sage, presided over by the royal sages, Resides in a divine body, seated in an excellent celestial chariot.

दिव्य ऋषि का निवास, शाही संतों की अध्यक्षता में, एक दिव्य शरीर में रहता है, एक उत्कृष्ट दिव्य रथ में बैठा है।

स्त्रीभिर्मनोभिरामाभी रममाणो मदोत्कटः युगकल्पसहस्राणि त्रीण्यावसति वै सुखम्

Dwelling with women who delight the mind, intoxicated with passion, He dwells happily for three thousand yugas and kalpas.

वे मन को प्रसन्न करने वाली, काम के नशे में धुत्त स्त्रियों के साथ तीन हजार युगों और कल्पों तक सुखपूर्वक निवास करते हैं।

योऽष्टाविंशे तु दिवसे प्राश्नीयादेकभोजनम् सदा द्वादश मासांस्तु जितात्मा विजितेन्द्रियः

One who eats only one meal a day on the twenty-eighth day, and always for twelve months, with a controlled mind and senses,

जो मनुष्य अट्ठाईसवें दिन तथा सदैव बारह महीने तक केवल एक बार भोजन करता है, मन और इंद्रियों को नियंत्रित करके।

फलं देवर्षिचरितं विपुलं समुपाश्नुते भोगवांस्तेजसा भाति सहस्रांशुरिवामलः

उसे दिव्य ऋषियों के आचरण का विशाल फल प्राप्त होता है। वह धन-संपदा से संपन्न है और निष्कलंक सहस्र किरणों वाले सूर्य के समान तेज से चमकता है।

सुकुमार्यश्च नार्यस्तं रममाणाः सुवर्चसः पीनस्तनोरुजघना दिव्याभरणभूषिताः

तत्र चैनं शुभा नार्यो दिव्याभरणभूषिताः मनोभिरामा मधुरा रमयन्ति मदोत्कटाः

भोगवांस्तेजसा युक्तो वैश्वानरसमप्रभः दिव्यो दिव्येन वपुषा भ्राजमान इवामरः

वसूनां मरुतां चैव साध्यानामश्विनोस्तथा रुद्राणां च तथा लोकान्ब्रह्मलोकं च गच्छति

With various beautiful forms, with various passions, With various sweet languages, with various pleasures,

विमाने नगराकारे सूर्यवत्सूर्यसंनिभे पृष्ठतः सोमसंकाशे उदक्चैवाभ्रसंनिभे

जम्बू महाद्वीप में जितने हजार वर्षों तक वर्षा होती है, उतने ही वर्षों तक ब्रह्मा लोक में बुद्धिमानों की आयु होती है।

विप्रुषश्चैव यावन्त्यो निपतन्ति नभस्तलात् वर्षासु वर्षतस्तावन्निवसत्यमरप्रभः

As many drops of rain fall from the sky, For that many years the one with the splendor of the gods dwells.

जितनी वर्षा की बूँदें आकाश से गिरती हैं, उतने ही वर्षों तक देवताओं के तेज वाला मनुष्य निवास करता है।

मासोपवासी वर्षैस्तु दशभिः स्वर्गमुत्तमम् महर्षित्वमथासाद्य सशरीरगतिर्भवेत्

One who fasts for a month attains the supreme heaven for ten years. Then attaining the state of a great sage, one attains the state of having a body.

मुनिर्दान्तो जितक्रोधो जितशिश्नोदरः सदा जुह्वन्नग्नींश्च नियतः संध्योपासनसेविता

The sage, self-controlled, having conquered anger, having conquered the penis and belly, always Offering oblations to the fires, restrained, devoted to the worship of the twilight.
