धृतराष्ट्र उवाच भयं मे सुमहज्जातं विस्मयश्चैव संजय श्रुत्वा पाण्डुकुमाराणां कर्म देवैः सुदुष्करम्

Dhṛtarāṣṭra said: O Sañjaya! I am struck by great fear and wonder on hearing of the deeds of the sons of Pāṇḍu. Even the gods will find it extremely difficult to accomplish these.

धृतराष्ट्र ने कहा: हे संजय! पाण्डु पुत्रों के कृत्यों को सुनकर मुझे बड़ा भय और आश्चर्य हो रहा है। यहां तक ​​कि देवताओं को भी इन्हें पूरा करना बेहद कठिन लगेगा।

पुत्राणां च पराभवं श्रुत्वा संजय सर्वशः चिन्ता मे महती सूत भविष्यति कथं त्विति

O Sañjaya! O sūta! On hearing about the defeat of my sons in every way, I am overcome with grave thoughts about what will happen.

हे संजय! हे सुता! अपने पुत्रों की हर तरह से पराजय का समाचार सुनकर मैं गंभीर विचारों में डूब गया कि क्या होगा।

ध्रुवं विदुरवाक्यानि धक्ष्यन्ति हृदयं मम यथा हि दृश्यते सर्वं दैवयोगेन संजय

Vidūra's certain words are oppressing my heart. O Sañjaya! Because of destiny, it is seen that everything is occurring as he said it would.

विदुर के कुछ वचन मेरे हृदय पर आघात कर रहे हैं। हे संजय! नियति के कारण ही सब कुछ वैसा ही घटित होता हुआ दिखाई देता है जैसा उसने कहा था।

यत्र भीष्ममुखाञ्शूरानस्त्रज्ञान्योधसत्तमान् पाण्डवानामनीकानि योधयन्ति प्रहारिणः

Bhīṣma is the foremost among brave ones and is supreme among those who possess the knowledge of weapons. That warrior is fighting with the army of the Pāṇḍava-s.

भीष्म शूरवीरों में अग्रणी हैं और शस्त्र विद्या रखने वालों में भी श्रेष्ठ हैं। वह योद्धा पाण्डवों की सेना से युद्ध कर रहा है।

केनावध्या महात्मानः पाण्डुपुत्रा महाबलाः केन दत्तवरास्तात किं वा ज्ञानं विदन्ति ते येन क्षयं न गच्छन्ति दिवि तारागणा इव

What do the great-souled and immensely strong sons of Pāṇḍu possess? O son! What supreme boons have they obtained? What knowledge have they accumulated? They do not suffer any decay, like masses of stars in the firmament.

पाण्डु के महाबली और अत्यंत बलशाली पुत्रों के पास क्या है? हे वत्स उन्हें कौन-सा परम वरदान प्राप्त हुआ है? उन्होंने कौन सा ज्ञान संचित किया है? आकाश में तारों के समूह की तरह, उनमें कोई क्षय नहीं होता।

पुनः पुनर्न मृष्यामि हतं सैन्यं स्म पाण्डवैः मय्येव दण्डः पतति दैवात्परमदारुणः

I cannot endure the repeated slaughter of my soldiers at the hands of the Pāṇḍava-s. Because of destiny, this extremely terrible punishment is descending on me.

मैं पांडवों के हाथों अपने सैनिकों का बार-बार वध सहन नहीं कर सकता। प्रारब्ध के कारण मुझे यह अत्यंत भयंकर दण्ड मिल रहा है।

यथावध्याः पाण्डुसुता यथा वध्याश्च मे सुताः एतन्मे सर्वमाचक्ष्व यथातत्त्वेन संजय

The sons of Pāṇḍu cannot be killed and my sons are being slaughtered. O Sañjaya! I cannot detect any reason as to why this should be the case.

पाण्डु के पुत्रों को नहीं मारा जा सकता और मेरे पुत्रों का वध किया जा रहा है। हे संजय! मैं इसका कोई कारण नहीं समझ पा रहा हूं कि ऐसा क्यों होना चाहिए।

न हि पारं प्रपश्यामि दुःखस्यास्य कथंचन समुद्रस्येव महतो भुजाभ्यां प्रतरन्नरः

Nor do I see any means of overcoming this misery. I am like a man who is trying to cross the mighty ocean with his arms.

न ही मुझे इस दुख से उबरने का कोई उपाय नजर आता है. मैं उस आदमी की तरह हूं जो अपनी बाहों के बल विशाल महासागर को पार करने की कोशिश कर रहा है।

पुत्राणां व्यसनं मन्ये ध्रुवं प्राप्तं सुदारुणम् घातयिष्यति मे पुत्रान्सर्वान्भीमो न संशयः

There is no doubt that all my sons will meet a terrible death. I do not see a brave one who can protect those on my side in battle.

इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं कि मेरे सभी पुत्रों की भयानक मृत्यु होगी। मुझे ऐसा कोई वीर दिखाई नहीं देता जो युद्ध में मेरे पक्ष के लोगों की रक्षा कर सके।

न हि पश्यामि तं वीरं यो मे रक्षेत्सुतान्रणे ध्रुवं विनाशः समरे पुत्राणां मम संजय

O Sañjaya! In this battle, the destruction of my sons is certain. O sūta! Tell me the specific reason for this.

हे संजय! इस युद्ध में मेरे पुत्रों का विनाश निश्चित है। हे सुता! इसका विशेष कारण बताओ?

तस्मान्मे कारणं सूत युक्तिं चैव विशेषतः पृच्छतोऽद्य यथातत्त्वं सर्वमाख्यातुमर्हसि

I am now asking you about the true reason and you should tell me everything.

अब मैं तुमसे सच्चा कारण पूछ रहा हूँ और तुम मुझे सब कुछ बताना।

दुर्योधनोऽपि यच्चक्रे दृष्ट्वा स्वान्विमुखान्रणे भीष्मद्रोणौ कृपश्चैव सौबलेयो जयद्रथः द्रौणिर्वापि महेष्वासो विकर्णो वा महाबलः

What did Duryodhana do, on seeing that his troops were running away in battle? What about Bhīṣma, Droṇa, Kṛpa, Saubala, Jayadratha, the mighty archer who is Droṇa's son and the immensely strong Vikarṇa?

युद्ध में अपनी सेना को भागते देख दुर्योधन ने क्या किया? भीष्म, द्रोण, कृप, सौबल, जयद्रथ, द्रोण के पुत्र शक्तिशाली धनुर्धर और अत्यंत शक्तिशाली विकर्ण के बारे में क्या?

निश्चयो वापि कस्तेषां तदा ह्यासीन्महात्मनाम् विमुखेषु महाप्राज्ञ मम पुत्रेषु संजय

What did those great-souled ones determine to do then? O immensely wise one! O Sañjaya! Did my sons retreat?

तब उन महात्माओं ने क्या करने का निश्चय किया? हे अत्यंत बुद्धिमान! हे संजय! क्या मेरे बेटे पीछे हट गये?

संजय उवाच शृणु राजन्नवहितः श्रुत्वा चैवावधारय नैव मन्त्रकृतं किंचिन्नैव मायां तथाविधाम् न वै विभीषिकां कांचिद्राजन्कुर्वन्ति पाण्डवाः

Sañjaya replied: O king! Listen attentively to what you wish to hear. Nothing was accomplished because of mantra-s and nothing was caused by māyā. O king! Nor did the Pāṇḍava-s create a fresh calamity.

संजय ने उत्तर दिया: हे राजा! आप जो सुनना चाहते हैं उसे ध्यान से सुनें। मंत्रों के कारण कुछ भी सिद्ध नहीं हुआ और माया के कारण कुछ भी नहीं हुआ। हे राजा! न ही पांडवों ने कोई नई विपत्ति पैदा की।

युध्यन्ति ते यथान्यायं शक्तिमन्तश्च संयुगे धर्मेण सर्वकार्याणि कीर्तितानीति भारत आरभन्ते सदा पार्थाः प्रार्थयाना महद्यशः

They are fighting in a just cause and they are fighting according to their powers. O descendant of the Bhārata lineage! They have performed all their deeds and tasks in accordance with dharma. The Pārtha-s have always acted so as to obtain great fame.

वे उचित उद्देश्य के लिए लड़ रहे हैं और वे अपनी शक्तियों के अनुसार लड़ रहे हैं। हे भरत वंश के वंशज! उन्होंने अपने सभी कर्म और कार्य धर्म के अनुसार किये हैं। पार्थों ने हमेशा महान प्रसिद्धि प्राप्त करने के लिए कार्य किया है।

न ते युद्धान्निवर्तन्ते धर्मोपेता महाबलाः श्रिया परमया युक्ता यतो धर्मस्ततो जयः तेनावध्या रणे पार्था जययुक्ताश्च पार्थिव

Resorting to dharma, those immensely strong ones have never retreated from a fight.

धर्म का आश्रय लेकर वे अत्यंत बलवान कभी भी युद्ध से पीछे नहीं हटे।

तव पुत्रा दुरात्मानः पापेष्वभिरताः सदा निष्ठुरा हीनकर्माणस्तेन हीयन्ति संयुगे

Where there is dharma, victory exists there. O king! That is the reason the Pārtha-s cannot be killed in battle and that is the reason they are victorious.

जहां धर्म है, वहां विजय है। हे राजा! यही कारण है कि पार्थों को युद्ध में नहीं मारा जा सकता और यही कारण है कि वे विजयी होते हैं।

सुबहूनि नृशंसानि पुत्रैस्तव जनेश्वर निकृतानीह पाण्डूनां नीचैरिव यथा नरैः

Your evil-souled son has always acted according to evil. He is cruel and has performed inferior deeds. That is the reason he is decaying in this battle.

तेरे दुष्टात्मा पुत्र ने सदैव दुष्टता के अनुसार काम किया है। वह क्रूर है और उसने घटिया कर्म किये हैं। यही कारण है कि इस युद्ध में उसका क्षय हो रहा है।

सर्वं च तदनादृत्य पुत्राणां तव किल्बिषम् सापह्नवाः सदैवासन्पाण्डवाः पाण्डुपूर्वज न चैनान्बहु मन्यन्ते पुत्रास्तव विशां पते

O lord of men! Your son has performed many violent deeds. He has deceived the sons of Pāṇḍu, acting like inferior men. They disregarded all the offences committed by your son. O Pāṇḍu's elder brother! The Pāṇḍava-s have always ignored them.

हे मनुष्यों के स्वामी! आपके पुत्र ने अनेक हिंसक कार्य किये हैं। उसने हीन मनुष्यों की भाँति आचरण करके पाण्डु के पुत्रों को धोखा दिया है। उन्होंने आपके पुत्र द्वारा किये गये सभी अपराधों की उपेक्षा की। हे पाण्डु के बड़े भाई! पांडवों ने सदैव उनकी उपेक्षा की है।

तस्य पापस्य सततं क्रियमाणस्य कर्मणः संप्राप्तं सुमहद्घोरं फलं किंपाकसंनिभम् स तद्भुङ्क्ष्व महाराज सपुत्रः ससुहृज्जनः

O lord of the earth! Your son has not shown them appropriate honour. This is the outcome of those evil deeds. These are the extremely terrible fruits of that, like that of kimpāka. O great king! With your sons and wellwishers, you are tasting that.

हे पृथ्वी के स्वामी! आपके पुत्र ने उन्हें उचित सम्मान नहीं दिया। यह उन्हीं बुरे कर्मों का फल है। ये उसके किम्पक के समान अत्यंत भयानक फल हैं। हे महान राजा! अपने बेटों और शुभचिंतकों के साथ आप इसका स्वाद चख रहे हैं.

नावबुध्यसि यद्राजन्वार्यमाणः सुहृज्जनैः विदुरेणाथ भीष्मेण द्रोणेन च महात्मना

O king! Though you were restrained by your well-wishers, Vidūra, Bhīṣma and the great-souled Droṇa, you did not realize this. I also tried to restrain you, but you did not accept those words.

हे राजा! यद्यपि आपके शुभचिंतकों, विदुर, भीष्म और महात्मा द्रोण ने आपको रोका था, फिर भी आपको इसका एहसास नहीं हुआ। मैंने तुम्हें रोकना भी चाहा, परन्तु तुमने मेरी बात न मानी।

तथा मया चाप्यसकृद्वार्यमाणो न गृह्णसि वाक्यं हितं च पथ्यं च मर्त्यः पथ्यमिवौषधम् पुत्राणां मतमास्थाय जितान्मन्यसि पाण्डवान्

Those were beneficial words. They were like medicine. But you rejected them, like a dying man who does not accept medicines. You accepted the views of your sons and hoped to defeat the Pāṇḍava-s.

वे लाभकारी शब्द थे. वे औषधि के समान थे। परन्तु तुमने उन्हें अस्वीकार कर दिया, उस मरते हुए आदमी की तरह जो दवाएँ स्वीकार नहीं करता। आपने अपने पुत्रों के विचारों को स्वीकार कर लिया और पांडवों को हराने की आशा की।

शृणु भूयो यथातत्त्वं यन्मां त्वं परिपृच्छसि कारणं भरतश्रेष्ठ पाण्डवानां जयं प्रति तत्तेऽहं कथयिष्यामि यथाश्रुतमरिंदम

Listen to my words about the true reasons. You have asked me about them. O foremost among the Bhārata lineage! I will tell you about the reasons behind the victory of the Pāṇḍava-s. O scorcher of enemies! I will tell you exactly as I have heard it.

सच्चे कारणों के बारे में मेरी बातें सुनें। आपने मुझसे उनके बारे में पूछा है. हे भरत वंश में अग्रणी! मैं तुम्हें पांडवों की विजय के कारणों के बारे में बताऊंगा। हे शत्रुओं को भस्म करने वाले! जैसा मैंने सुना है, वैसा ही तुम्हें बताऊंगा।

दुर्योधनेन संपृष्ट एतमर्थं पितामहः दृष्ट्वा भ्रातॄन्रणे सर्वान्निर्जितान्सुमहारथान्

Duryodhana himself asked the grandfather about this, when he saw that all his mahāratha brothers were vanquished in the battle.

जब दुर्योधन ने देखा कि उसके सभी महारथी भाई युद्ध में पराजित हो गये हैं, तो उसने स्वयं अपने पितामह से इस बारे में पूछा।

शोकसंमूढहृदयो निशाकाले स्म कौरवः पितामहं महाप्राज्ञं विनयेनोपगम्य ह यदब्रवीत्सुतस्तेऽसौ तन्मे शृणु जनेश्वर

When night fell, Kaurava was overwhelmed with sorrow in his heart. In humility, he went to the immensely wise grandfather. O lord of men! Hear from me what your son said at that time.

जब रात हुई तो कौरव मन में दुःख से व्याकुल हो गये। वह नम्रतापूर्वक परम बुद्धिमान पितामह के पास गया। हे मनुष्यों के स्वामी! उस समय आपके पुत्र ने क्या कहा, वह मुझसे सुनो।

दुर्योधन उवाच त्वं च द्रोणश्च शल्यश्च कृपो द्रौणिस्तथैव च कृतवर्मा च हार्दिक्यः काम्बोजश्च सुदक्षिणः

Duryodhana said: "You, Droṇa, Śalya, Kṛpa, Droṇa's son, Hārdikya Kritavarma, Sudakṣiṇa from Kāmboja,

दुर्योधन ने कहा: "आप, द्रोण, शल्य, कृप, द्रोण के पुत्र, हार्दिक्य कृतवर्मा, कंबोज के सुदक्षिण,

भूरिश्रवा विकर्णश्च भगदत्तश्च वीर्यवान् महारथाः समाख्याताः कुलपुत्रास्तनुत्यजः

Bhurishrava, Vikarṇa and the valiant Bhagadatta—all of these are renowned as mahāratha-s and all of them have been born in noble lineages.

भूरिश्रवा, विकर्ण और वीर भगदत्त - ये सभी महारथ के रूप में प्रसिद्ध हैं और ये सभी कुलीन वंश में पैदा हुए हैं।

त्रयाणामपि लोकानां पर्याप्ता इति मे मतिः पाण्डवानां समस्ताश्च न तिष्ठन्ति पराक्रमे

It is my view that they are sufficient for all the three worlds. All the assembled Pāṇḍava-s cannot stand before them in valour.

मेरा विचार है कि वे तीनों लोकों के लिये पर्याप्त हैं। सभी इकट्ठे हुए पांडव वीरता में उनके सामने टिक नहीं सकते।

तत्र मे संशयो जातस्तन्ममाचक्ष्व पृच्छतः यं समाश्रित्य कौन्तेया जयन्त्यस्मान्पदे पदे

A doubt has therefore arisen in my mind and I am asking you about this. How are the Kaunteya-s obtaining victory at every step? Who is their support?"

इसलिए मेरे मन में एक संदेह उत्पन्न हो गया है और मैं आपसे इसके बारे में पूछ रहा हूं। कौन्तेय लोग हर कदम पर विजय कैसे प्राप्त कर रहे हैं? उनका समर्थन कौन है?"

भीष्म उवाच शृणु राजन्वचो मह्यं यत्त्वां वक्ष्यामि कौरव बहुशश्च ममोक्तोऽसि न च मे तत्त्वया कृतम्

Bhīṣma replied: "O king! O Kaurava! Listen to the words that I am going to speak to you. I often spoke to you. But you did not act in accordance with my words.

भीष्म ने उत्तर दिया: "हे राजा! हे कौरव! उन शब्दों को सुनो जो मैं तुमसे कहने जा रहा हूं। मैं अक्सर तुमसे बात करता था। लेकिन तुमने मेरे शब्दों के अनुसार कार्य नहीं किया।"

क्रियतां पाण्डवैः सार्धं शमो भरतसत्तम एतत्क्षममहं मन्ये पृथिव्यास्तव चाभिभो

O supreme among the Bhārata lineage! I asked you to act so that there might be peace with the Pāṇḍava-s. O lord! I thought that this would have been beneficial for both you and the world.

हे भरतवंशियों में श्रेष्ठ! मैंने आपसे कार्य करने के लिए कहा ताकि पांडवों के साथ शांति हो सके। हे भगवान! मैंने सोचा कि यह आपके और दुनिया दोनों के लिए फायदेमंद होगा।

भुञ्जेमां पृथिवीं राजन्भ्रातृभिः सहितः सुखी दुर्हृदस्तापयन्सर्वान्नन्दयंश्चापि बान्धवान्

O king! You would have happily enjoyed the earth with your brothers. You would have chastised all ill-wishers and delighted your relatives.

हे राजा! तुम अपने भाइयों के साथ आनन्दपूर्वक पृथ्वी का उपभोग करोगे। तूने सभी दुष्टों को दण्ड दिया होगा और अपने सम्बन्धियों को प्रसन्न किया होगा।

न च मे क्रोशतस्तात श्रुतवानसि वै पुरा तदिदं समनुप्राप्तं यत्पाण्डूनवमन्यसे

O son! But on earlier occasions, you did not heed my words. Because you dishonoured the Pāṇḍu-s, you are now confronted with this calamity.

हे वत्स लेकिन पहले कई मौकों पर आपने मेरी बातों पर ध्यान नहीं दिया. चूँकि तुमने पाण्डु-वंश का अनादर किया, इसलिए अब तुम्हें इस विपत्ति का सामना करना पड़ रहा है।

यश्च हेतुरवध्यत्वे तेषामक्लिष्टकर्मणाम् तं शृणुष्व महाराज मम कीर्तयतः प्रभो

They are the performers of unsullied deeds. O lord! O great king! I will tell you the reasons why they cannot be killed. Listen.

वे निष्कलंक कर्म करने वाले हैं। हे भगवान! हे महान राजा! मैं तुम्हें कारण बताऊंगा कि उन्हें क्यों नहीं मारा जा सकता। सुनना।

नास्ति लोकेषु तद्भूतं भविता नो भविष्यति यो जयेत्पाण्डवान्संख्ये पालिताञ्शार्ङ्गधन्वना

There is no one in this world who can vanquish the Pāṇḍava-s in battle. There has been no such person, nor will there be. They are protected by the wielder of the Śārṅga bow.

इस संसार में ऐसा कोई नहीं है जो युद्ध में पांडवों को हरा सके। ऐसा कोई व्यक्ति न हुआ है, न होगा. वे शारंग धनुष के धारक द्वारा संरक्षित हैं।

यत्तु मे कथितं तात मुनिभिर्भावितात्मभिः पुराणगीतं धर्मज्ञ तच्छृणुष्व यथातथम्

O son! O one learned in dharma! Listen exactly to what was chanted and recounted in the ancient accounts, by sages whose souls were controlled.

हे वत्स हे धर्म के विद्वान! उन ऋषियों द्वारा, जिनकी आत्माएं वश में थीं, प्राचीन वृत्तांतों में जो जप और वर्णन किया गया था, उसे ठीक से सुनो।

पुरा किल सुराः सर्वे ऋषयश्च समागताः पितामहमुपासेदुः पर्वते गन्धमादने

In ancient times, all the gods and riṣi-s assembled and worshipped the grandfather on Mount Gandhamādana.

प्राचीन काल में सभी देवता और ऋषि गंधमादन पर्वत पर एकत्रित होकर पितामह की पूजा करते थे।

मध्ये तेषां समासीनः प्रजापतिरपश्यत विमानं जाज्वलद्भासा स्थितं प्रवरमम्बरे

Seated in their midst, Prajāpati saw an excellent and blazing vimāna stationed in the sky.

उनके बीच में बैठे हुए, प्रजापति ने आकाश में खड़े एक उत्कृष्ट और चमकते हुए विमान को देखा।

ध्यानेनावेद्य तं ब्रह्मा कृत्वा च नियतोऽञ्जलिम् नमश्चकार हृष्टात्मा परमं परमेश्वरम्

Having got to know everything about it through his powers of meditation, Brahmā joined his hands in salutation. With his soul filled with delight, he bowed before the supreme being, the supreme lord.

अपनी ध्यान की शक्ति से इसके बारे में सब कुछ जानने के बाद, ब्रह्मा ने नमस्कार में अपने हाथ जोड़ दिए। प्रसन्नता से भरी अपनी आत्मा के साथ, वह सर्वोच्च सत्ता, सर्वोच्च भगवान के सामने झुक गया।

ऋषयस्त्वथ देवाश्च दृष्ट्वा ब्रह्माणमुत्थितम् स्थिताः प्राञ्जलयः सर्वे पश्यन्तो महदद्भुतम्

On seeing that Brahmā had stood up, all the riṣi-s and gods also stood, hands joined in salutation, beholding that great marvel.

यह देखकर कि ब्रह्मा खड़े हो गए, सभी ऋषि-मुनि और देवता भी उस महान आश्चर्य को देखकर हाथ जोड़कर नमस्कार करते हुए खड़े हो गए।

यथावच्च तमभ्यर्च्य ब्रह्मा ब्रह्मविदां वरः जगाद जगतः स्रष्टा परं परमधर्मवित्

Brahmā, supreme among those who have knowledge of the brāhman, worshipped him and said, "You are the end of the universe. You are the creator of the universe. You are supreme. You are supreme dharma.

ब्रह्म का ज्ञान रखने वालों में सर्वोच्च ब्रह्मा ने उनकी पूजा की और कहा, "आप ब्रह्मांड के अंत हैं। आप ब्रह्मांड के निर्माता हैं। आप सर्वोच्च हैं। आप सर्वोच्च धर्म हैं।

विश्वावसुर्विश्वमूर्तिर्विश्वेशो; विष्वक्सेनो विश्वकर्मा वशी च विश्वेश्वरो वासुदेवोऽसि तस्मा;द्योगात्मानं दैवतं त्वामुपैमि

You are the glory of the universe. You are the manifestation of the universe. You are the refuge of the universe. You are the action of the universe. You are the controller. You are the lord of the universe. You are Vāsudeva. You are the soul of yoga. You are divinity and I seek refuge in you.

आप ब्रह्मांड की महिमा हैं. आप ब्रह्मांड की अभिव्यक्ति हैं. आप विश्व के आश्रय हैं। आप ब्रह्माण्ड की क्रिया हैं। आप ही नियंता हैं. आप ब्रह्मांड के स्वामी हैं. आप वासुदेव हैं. आप योग की आत्मा हैं. आप देवत्व हैं और मैं आपकी शरण चाहता हूं।

जय विश्व महादेव जय लोकहिते रत जय योगीश्वर विभो जय योगपरावर

Victory to the great god of the universe. Victory to the one who is engaged in the welfare of the worlds. Victory to the illustrious lord of all yoga. Victory to the one who is before and after yoga.

ब्रह्मांड के महान देवता की जय। जो विश्व के कल्याण में लगा है उसकी जय हो। समस्त योग के यशस्वी स्वामी की जय। योग से पहले और बाद में जो है उसकी जय।

पद्मगर्भ विशालाक्ष जय लोकेश्वरेश्वर भूतभव्यभवन्नाथ जय सौम्यात्मजात्मज

कमल आपकी नाभि से उत्पन्न हुआ है। आपकी आंखें बड़ी हैं. उस व्यक्ति की जय जो ब्रह्मांड के सभी प्रभुओं का स्वामी है। आप अतीत, वर्तमान और भविष्य हैं। आत्मा में शांति पैदा करने वाले की जय।

असंख्येयगुणाजेय जय सर्वपरायण नारायण सुदुष्पार जय शार्ङ्गधनुर्धर

You are the store of innumerable qualities. Victory to the one on whom everything depends. You are Nārāyaṇa. You are impossible to comprehend. Victory to the one who is the wielder of the Śārṅga bow.

आप असंख्य गुणों के भण्डार हैं। विजय उसकी, जिस पर सब कुछ निर्भर है। आप नारायण हैं. आपको समझना असंभव है. शार्ग धनुष धारण करने वाले की जय हो।

सर्वगुह्यगुणोपेत विश्वमूर्ते निरामय विश्वेश्वर महाबाहो जय लोकार्थतत्पर

You are the one who possesses all the secret qualities. The universe is your form. Victory to the one who is engaged in the welfare of the worlds. You are free from disease. You are the lord of the universe. You are mighty-armed.

आप समस्त गुप्त गुणों से युक्त हैं। विश्व आपका ही स्वरूप है। जो विश्व के कल्याण में लगा है उसकी जय हो। आप रोगमुक्त हैं. आप ब्रह्मांड के स्वामी हैं. आप महाबाहु हैं.

महोरग वराहाद्य हरिकेश विभो जय हरिवास विशामीश विश्वावासामिताव्यय

O mighty serpent! O great boar! O one with the tawny mane! Victory to the lord. O one with the yellow garment! O one who is the lord of the directions. O one in whom the universe resides! O one without decay!

हे शक्तिशाली सर्प! हे महान सूअर! हे गहरे पीले बालों वाले! प्रभु की जय हो. हे पीले वस्त्रधारी! हे दिशाओं के स्वामी! हे वह जिसमें ब्रह्माण्ड निवास करता है! हे क्षय रहित!

व्यक्ताव्यक्तामितस्थान नियतेन्द्रिय सेन्द्रिय असंख्येयात्मभावज्ञ जय गम्भीर कामद

You are the manifest. You are the unmanifest. You are in control of your senses. You possess vigorous senses. Your soul is beyond measure. You are the only one who knows about your own self. Victory to the deep one who satisfies all desires.

आप प्रकट हैं. आप अव्यक्त हैं. आप अपनी इंद्रियों पर नियंत्रण रखते हैं। आपके पास प्रबल इंद्रियाँ हैं। आपकी आत्मा माप से परे है. आप अकेले हैं जो अपने बारे में जानते हैं। उस गहरे की जय जो सभी इच्छाओं को संतुष्ट करता है।

अनन्त विदितप्रज्ञ नित्यं भूतविभावन कृतकार्य कृतप्रज्ञ धर्मज्ञ विजयाजय

You are infinite. You are known as the wise one. You are eternal. You are the one who causes all the worlds to be manifest. You accomplish all your tasks. You act according to wisdom. You know about dharma. You are the one who is the harbinger of victory.

आप अनंत हैं. आप बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति के रूप में जाने जाते हैं। आप शाश्वत हैं. आप ही समस्त लोकों को प्रकट करने वाले हैं। आप अपने सभी कार्य पूर्ण करें. आप बुद्धि के अनुसार कार्य करें। आप धर्म के बारे में जानते हैं. आप ही विजय के अग्रदूत हैं।

गुह्यात्मन्सर्वभूतात्मन्स्फुटसंभूतसंभव भूतार्थतत्त्व लोकेश जय भूतविभावन

Your soul is mysterious. You are the soul of all beings. You are the origin of everything that comes into existence. You know about the nature of all beings. You are the lord of the worlds. Victory to the one who makes all beings appear.

आपकी आत्मा रहस्यमय है. आप समस्त प्राणियों की आत्मा हैं। आप अस्तित्व में आने वाली हर चीज के मूल हैं। आप सभी प्राणियों के स्वभाव को जानते हैं। आप संसार के स्वामी हैं। उस व्यक्ति की जय जो सभी प्राणियों को प्रकट करता है।

आत्मयोने महाभाग कल्पसंक्षेपतत्पर उद्भावन मनोद्भाव जय ब्रह्मजनप्रिय

You are the self-creating one. You are the immensely fortunate one. You are the one who acts so as to bring about the destruction of everything. You are the one who inspires all thoughts in the mind. Victory to the brāhman, beloved of all beings.

आप स्वयं का निर्माण करने वाले व्यक्ति हैं। आप अत्यंत भाग्यशाली हैं. आप ही वह हैं जो हर चीज़ का विनाश करने का कार्य करते हैं। आप ही मन में समस्त विचारों को प्रेरित करने वाले हैं। सभी प्राणियों के प्रिय ब्राह्मण की जय।

निसर्गसर्गाभिरत कामेश परमेश्वर अमृतोद्भव सद्भाव युगाग्ने विजयप्रद

You act for the sake of creation and destruction. O lord of desire! O supreme lord! You are the origin of amṛtā. You are the origin of virtue. You are the fire at the end of a yuga. You are the one who grants victory.

आप सृजन और विनाश के लिये कार्य करते हैं। हे इच्छा के स्वामी! हे परम प्रभु! आप अमृत के मूल हैं. आप सद्गुणों के मूल हैं। आप युग के अंत की अग्नि हैं। आप ही विजय प्रदान करने वाले हैं।

प्रजापतिपते देव पद्मनाभ महाबल आत्मभूत महाभूत कर्मात्मञ्जय कर्मद

You are the lord of all Prajāpati-s. O god! The lotus was created from your navel. O immensely powerful one! You are the one who was created from his own self. You are the great being. You are the one with action in his soul. Victory to the one who is active.

आप समस्त प्रजापतियों के स्वामी हैं। रब्बा बे! कमल आपकी नाभि से उत्पन्न हुआ है। हे अत्यंत शक्तिशाली! तू वही है जो अपने आप से उत्पन्न हुआ है। आप महान प्राणी हैं. आप उसकी आत्मा में कर्म करने वाले हैं। जो सक्रिय है उसकी विजय.

पादौ तव धरा देवी दिशो बाहुर्दिवं शिरः मूर्तिस्तेऽहं सुराः कायश्चन्द्रादित्यौ च चक्षुषी

The goddess earth constitutes your feet. The directions are your arms. The firmament is your head. I am your form. The gods are your limbs. The sun and the moon are your eyes.

देवी पृथ्वी आपके चरणों का निर्माण करती हैं। दिशाएँ आपकी भुजाएँ हैं। आकाश तुम्हारा सिर है. मैं आपका ही रूप हूं. देवता आपके अंग हैं। सूर्य और चंद्रमा आपकी आंखें हैं.

बलं तपश्च सत्यं च धर्मः कामात्मजः प्रभो तेजोऽग्निः पवनः श्वास आपस्ते स्वेदसंभवाः

O lord! Austerities performed because of truth, dharma and desire are your strength. The fire is your energy. The wind is your breath. Water is created from your sweat.

हे भगवान! सत्य, धर्म और कामना के कारण की गई तपस्या ही आपकी शक्ति है। अग्नि आपकी ऊर्जा है. हवा आपकी सांस है. पानी आपके पसीने से बनता है.

अश्विनौ श्रवणौ नित्यं देवी जिह्वा सरस्वती वेदाः संस्कारनिष्ठा हि त्वयीदं जगदाश्रितम्

The Aśvin-s are always your ears. The goddess Sarasvatī is your tongue. The devoted sacraments of the Veda-s are vested in you. The universe finds refuge in you.

अश्विन हमेशा आपके कान होते हैं। देवी सरस्वती आपकी जीभ हैं। वेदों के समर्पित संस्कार आपमें निहित हैं। ब्रह्मांड आप में शरण पाता है।

न संख्यां न परीमाणं न तेजो न पराक्रमम् न बलं योगयोगीश जानीमस्ते न संभवम्

It is impossible to know your measure, your dimensions, your energy, your valour, your strength or your yoga. You are the lord of yoga.

आपके माप, आपके आयाम, आपकी ऊर्जा, आपकी वीरता, आपकी ताकत या आपके योग को जानना असंभव है। आप योग के स्वामी हैं.

त्वद्भक्तिनिरता देव नियमैस्त्वा समाहिताः अर्चयामः सदा विष्णो परमेशं महेश्वरम्

The gods are devotedly faithful to you. They are immersed in your rules. O Viṣṇu! O supreme lord! O great lord! They always worship you.

देवता आपके प्रति समर्पित हैं। वे आपके नियमों में डूबे हुए हैं. हे विष्णु! हे परम प्रभु! हे महान प्रभु! वे सदैव आपकी पूजा करते हैं।

ऋषयो देवगन्धर्वा यक्षराक्षसपन्नगाः पिशाचा मानुषाश्चैव मृगपक्षिसरीसृपाः

Riṣi-s, gods, gāndharva-s, yakṣa-s, rākṣasa-s, serpents, piśāca-s, men, animals, birds and reptiles -

ऋषि, देवता, गंधर्व, यक्ष, राक्षस, नाग, पिशाच, मनुष्य, पशु, पक्षी और सरीसृप -

एवमादि मया सृष्टं पृथिव्यां त्वत्प्रसादजम् पद्मनाभ विशालाक्ष कृष्ण दुःस्वप्ननाशन

- through your favours, I have created these on earth. O one who created the lotus in your navel! O large-eyed one! O Kṛṣṇā! O dispeller of all misery!

- आपकी कृपा से, मैंने इन्हें पृथ्वी पर बनाया है। हे आपकी नाभि में कमल रचने वाले! हे विशाल नेत्रों वाले! हे कृष्ण! हे समस्त दुःख दूर करने वाले!

त्वं गतिः सर्वभूतानां त्वं नेता त्वं जगन्मुखम् त्वत्प्रसादेन देवेश सुखिनो विबुधाः सदा

You are the destination of all beings. You are the leader. You are the mouth of the universe. O lord of the gods! It is through your favours that the gods are always happy.

आप सभी प्राणियों का गंतव्य हैं। आप नेता हैं. आप ब्रह्मांड के मुख हैं. हे देवताओं के स्वामी! आपकी कृपा से ही देवता सदैव प्रसन्न रहते हैं।

पृथिवी निर्भया देव त्वत्प्रसादात्सदाभवत् तस्माद्भव विशालाक्ष यदुवंशविवर्धनः

O god! It is through your favours that the earth is always without fear. O large-eyed one! You have taken birth to extend the lineage of the Yadu-s,

रब्बा बे! आपके उपकार से ही पृथ्वी सदैव भय रहित रहती है। हे विशाल नेत्रों वाले! आपने यदुओं के वंश को बढ़ाने के लिए जन्म लिया है,

धर्मसंस्थापनार्थाय दैतेयानां वधाय च जगतो धारणार्थाय विज्ञाप्यं कुरु मे प्रभो

so that dharma may be established and the daitya-s destroyed. O lord! For upholding the universe, do what I have asked you to.

ताकि धर्म की स्थापना हो सके और दैत्यों का नाश हो सके। हे भगवान! सृष्टि के पालन के लिए मैंने तुमसे जो कहा है, वही करो।

यदेतत्परमं गुह्यं त्वत्प्रसादमयं विभो वासुदेव तदेतत्ते मयोद्गीतं यथातथम्

O lord! O Vāsudeva! Through your favours, I have exactly sung all that is extremely mysterious in your essence.

हे भगवान! हे वासुदेव! आपकी कृपा से मैंने वह सब कुछ गाया है जो आपके सार में अत्यंत रहस्यमय है।

सृष्ट्वा संकर्षणं देवं स्वयमात्मानमात्मना कृष्ण त्वमात्मनास्राक्षीः प्रद्युम्नं चात्मसंभवम्

Create the god Saṃkarṣaṇa out of your own self. O Kṛṣṇā! Create Pradyumna out of your own self.

अपने आप में से भगवान संकर्षण की रचना करो। हे कृष्ण! अपने आप से प्रद्युम्न उत्पन्न करो।

प्रद्युम्नाच्चानिरुद्धं त्वं यं विदुर्विष्णुमव्ययम् अनिरुद्धोऽसृजन्मां वै ब्रह्माणं लोकधारिणम्

Aniruddha is known as the undecaying Viṣṇu and create him out of Pradyumna. It is Aniruddha who created me, Brahmā, the upholder of the universe.

अनिरुद्ध को अविनाशी विष्णु के रूप में जाना जाता है और उन्होंने उसे प्रद्युम्न से बनाया है। यह अनिरुद्ध ही हैं जिन्होंने मुझ ब्रह्मा, ब्रह्मांड के पालनकर्ता की रचना की।

वासुदेवमयः सोऽहं त्वयैवास्मि विनिर्मितः विभज्य भागशोऽऽत्मानं व्रज मानुषतां विभो

I have been created by Vāsudeva's essence and I have therefore been created by you. O lord! Divide yourself into different parts and take birth in the world of men.

मैं वासुदेव के सार द्वारा बनाया गया हूं और इसलिए मैं आपके द्वारा बनाया गया हूं। हे भगवान! अपने आप को अलग-अलग हिस्सों में बांट लें और पुरुषों की दुनिया में जन्म लें।

तत्रासुरवधं कृत्वा सर्वलोकसुखाय वै धर्मं स्थाप्य यशः प्राप्य योगं प्राप्स्यसि तत्त्वतः

There, for the welfare of all the worlds, act so that all the āsura-s can be killed. Establish dharma. Obtain fame. Obtain the essence of yoga.

वहां, सभी लोकों के कल्याण के लिए कार्य करें ताकि सभी असुरों को मार दिया जा सके। धर्म की स्थापना करो. प्रसिद्धि प्राप्त करें. योग का सार प्राप्त करें.

त्वां हि ब्रह्मर्षयो लोके देवाश्चामितविक्रम तैस्तैश्च नामभिर्भक्ता गायन्ति परमात्मकम्

O infinitely valorous one! The brahmarṣi-s of the world and the gods are devoted to you and chant your names and about your supreme soul.

हे परम शूरवीर! संसार के ब्रह्मर्षि और देवता आपके प्रति समर्पित हैं और आपके नामों और आपकी परम आत्मा का जप करते हैं।

स्थिताश्च सर्वे त्वयि भूतसंघाः; कृत्वाश्रयं त्वां वरदं सुबाहो अनादिमध्यान्तमपारयोगं; लोकस्य सेतुं प्रवदन्ति विप्राः

They are all established in you. All beings find refuge in you. You are the one who provides them sanctuary. O well-armed one! You are the granter of boons. You have no beginning. You have no middle. You have no end. You possess the supreme yoga. You are a bridge for the worlds. That is what the brāhmana-s sing."

वे सभी आपमें स्थापित हैं। सभी प्राणी आपकी शरण पाते हैं। तू ही उनको शरण देनेवाला है। हे शस्त्रधारी! आप वरदान देने वाले हैं. आपकी कोई शुरुआत नहीं है. आपके पास कोई मध्य नहीं है. तुम्हारा कोई अंत नहीं है. आप परम योग के अधिकारी हैं। आप दुनिया के लिए एक पुल हैं. ब्राह्मण यही गाते हैं।"
