वैशंपायन उवाच आज्ञापयामास ततः सेनां भरतसत्तमः अर्जुनप्रमुखैर्गुप्तां लोकपालोपमैर्नरैः

Vaishampayana said Then the best of the Bharata lineage gave orders to the army, Protected by Arjuna and others, who were like the guardians of the world.

वैशम्पायन ने कहा तब भरत वंश के सर्वश्रेष्ठ ने सेना को आदेश दिया, अर्जुन और अन्य लोगों द्वारा संरक्षित, जो दुनिया के संरक्षक की तरह थे।

योगो योग इति प्रीत्या ततः शब्दो महानभूत् क्रोशतां सादिनां तत्र युज्यतां युज्यतामिति

Then the great sound "yoga, yoga" arose from the joy of the riders, and "yujyata, yujyata" from those who were shouting.

तभी सवारों के हर्ष से "योग, योग" और जो चिल्ला रहे थे उनसे "युज्यता, युज्यता" की महान ध्वनि निकली।

केचिद्यानैर्नरा जग्मुः केचिदश्वैर्मनोजवैः रथैश्च नगराकारैः प्रदीप्तज्वलनोपमैः

Some went on foot, some on horses swift as the mind, and some on chariots shaped like cities, blazing like fire.

कुछ पैदल चले, कुछ मन के समान वेगशाली घोड़ों पर, और कुछ अग्नि के समान धधकते हुए नगरों के आकार के रथों पर सवार हुए।

गजेन्द्रैश्च तथैवान्ये केचिदुष्ट्रैर्नराधिप पदातिनस्तथैवान्ये नखरप्रासयोधिनः

Some were on elephants, others on camels, O king, and others on foot, armed with claws and spears.

कुछ हाथियों पर थे, कुछ ऊँटों पर, हे राजा, और कुछ पैदल, पंजों और भालों से लैस थे।

पौरजानपदाश्चैव यानैर्बहुविधैस्तथा अन्वयुः कुरुराजानं धृतराष्ट्रदिदृक्षया

And the citizens and countrymen, in many kinds of vehicles, followed the king of the Kurus, wishing to see Dhritarashtra.

धृतराष्ट्र के दर्शन की इच्छा से नगरवासी और देशवासी अनेक प्रकार के वाहनों पर सवार होकर कौरवों के राजा के पीछे-पीछे चलने लगे।

स चापि राजवचनादाचार्यो गौतमः कृपः सेनामादाय सेनानी प्रययावाश्रमं प्रति

And the teacher Gautama Kripa, at the king's command, took the army and went to the hermitage with the general.

और राजा की आज्ञा से गुरु गौतम कृपा सेना लेकर सेनापति के साथ आश्रम में गये।

ततो द्विजैर्वृतः श्रीमान्कुरुराजो युधिष्ठिरः संस्तूयमानो बहुभिः सूतमागधबन्दिभिः

Then the glorious King Yudhishthira of the Kurus, surrounded by Brahmins, was praised by many bards, minstrels and singers.

तब ब्राह्मणों से घिरे हुए कौरवों के प्रतापी राजा युधिष्ठिर की अनेक भाटों, वादकों तथा गायकों द्वारा प्रशंसा की गई।

पाण्डुरेणातपत्रेण ध्रियमाणेन मूर्धनि रथानीकेन महता निर्ययौ कुरुनन्दनः

With a white parasol held over his head, the descendant of the Kurus set out with a great army of chariots.

अपने सिर पर सफेद छत्र धारण किये कौरवों के वंशज रथों की एक विशाल सेना के साथ निकल पड़े।

गजैश्चाचलसंकाशैर्भीमकर्मा वृकोदरः सज्जयन्त्रायुधोपेतैः प्रययौ मारुतात्मजः

The son of the wind god, Bhima, went with elephants that were like mountains, with weapons and machines.

पवन देव के पुत्र, भीम, हथियारों और मशीनों के साथ पहाड़ों के समान हाथियों के साथ गए।

माद्रीपुत्रावपि तथा हयारोहैः सुसंवृतौ जग्मतुः प्रीतिजननौ संनद्धकवचध्वजौ

The sons of Madri, too, mounted on horses, surrounded by their own troops, went forth, causing joy, clad in armor and bearing banners.

माद्री के पुत्र भी घोड़ों पर सवार होकर, अपनी-अपनी सेनाओं से घिरे हुए, कवच पहने हुए और ध्वजाएँ लिए हुए हर्षित होते हुए आगे बढ़े।

अर्जुनश्च महातेजा रथेनादित्यवर्चसा वशी श्वेतैर्हयैर्दिव्यैर्युक्तेनान्वगमन्नृपम्

And the very bright Arjuna, with a chariot shining like the sun, with his white horses, mounted on a divine chariot, followed the king.

और अत्यंत तेजस्वी अर्जुन, सूर्य के समान चमकते हुए, अपने सफेद घोड़ों के साथ, एक दिव्य रथ पर आरूढ़ होकर, राजा के पीछे-पीछे चल रहे थे।

द्रौपदीप्रमुखाश्चापि स्त्रीसंघाः शिबिकागताः स्त्र्यध्यक्षयुक्ताः प्रययुर्विसृजन्तोऽमितं वसु

And the groups of women, headed by Draupadī, riding in palanquins, accompanied by the chief of the women, went forth, bestowing boundless wealth.

और द्रौपदी के नेतृत्व में महिलाओं के समूह, पालकियों में सवार होकर, महिलाओं के मुखिया के साथ, असीम धन प्रदान करते हुए आगे बढ़े।

समृद्धनरनागाश्वं वेणुवीणानिनादितम् शुशुभे पाण्डवं सैन्यं तत्तदा भरतर्षभ

With men, elephants and horses in abundance, resounding with flutes and lutes, The army of the Pandavas shone then, O bull of the Bharata lineage.

मनुष्यों, हाथियों और घोड़ों की बहुतायत के साथ, बांसुरी और सारंगी से गूंजते हुए, पांडवों की सेना चमक उठी, हे भरत वंश के बैल।

नदीतीरेषु रम्येषु सरत्सु च विशां पते वासान्कृत्वा क्रमेणाथ जग्मुस्ते कुरुपुंगवाः

Having made their camps on the banks of the rivers and lakes, O Lord of the Earth, those bulls of the Kuru clan gradually proceeded.

नदियों और झीलों के किनारे अपने शिविर बनाकर कुरु वंश के वे बैल धीरे-धीरे आगे बढ़े।

युयुत्सुश्च महातेजा धौम्यश्चैव पुरोहितः युधिष्ठिरस्य वचनात्पुरगुप्तिं प्रचक्रतुः

Yuyutsu, the very bright one, and the family priest Dhaumya, at the bidding of Yudhishthira, made arrangements for the protection of the city.

युधिष्ठिर के आदेश पर परम तेजस्वी युयुत्सु और कुल पुरोहित धौम्य ने नगर की सुरक्षा की व्यवस्था की।

ततो युधिष्ठिरो राजा कुरुक्षेत्रमवातरत् क्रमेणोत्तीर्य यमुनां नदीं परमपावनीम्

Then King Yudhishthira entered Kurukshetra and gradually crossed the Yamuna river, the supremely purifying river.

तब राजा युधिष्ठिर ने कुरुक्षेत्र में प्रवेश किया और धीरे-धीरे परम पवित्र नदी यमुना नदी को पार कर लिया।

स ददर्शाश्रमं दूराद्राजर्षेस्तस्य धीमतः शतयूपस्य कौरव्य धृतराष्ट्रस्य चैव ह

He saw from afar the hermitage of that wise royal sage, of Shatayupa, O Kouravya, and of Dhritarashtra.

उन्होंने दूर से उन बुद्धिमान राजमुनि, शतयुप, हे कौरव्य और धृतराष्ट्र का आश्रम देखा।

ततः प्रमुदितः सर्वो जनस्तद्वनमञ्जसा विवेश सुमहानादैरापूर्य भरतर्षभ

Then all the people, filled with joy, entered that forest with great noise, O bull of the Bharata lineage.

तब सब लोग हर्ष से भरकर बड़े शोर के साथ उस वन में प्रविष्ट हुए, हे भरत वंश के बैल।
