तस्य राक्षसराजस्य निशम्य परिदेवितम् | कुम्भकर्णो बभा षेदं वचनम् प्रजहास च || ६-६३-१

Hearing the lamentation of Ravana, Kumbhakarna laughed at a full volume and spoke as follows:

उस राक्षसराज रावण के विलाप को सुनकर कुम्भकर्ण ने यह वचन कहा और हँसा भी।

दृष्टो दोषो हि योऽस्माभिः पुरा मन्त्रविनिर्णये | हितेष्वनभियुक्तेन सोऽयमासादितस्त्वया || ६-६३-२

"The same bad consequence, which was imagined by us earlier while taking the final decision after our consultation, is faced by you now, due to your utter disregard of the words spoken by your well-wishers."

हमने पहले मंत्रों के निर्णय में जो दोष देखा था, वह आज तुम्हारे द्वारा प्राप्त किया गया है। यह वही दोष है जिसे हमने पहले मंत्रों के निर्णय में देखा था, और वह आज तुम्हारे द्वारा ही सामने लाया गया है।

श्रीघ्रम् खल्वभ्युपेतम् त्वाम् फलम् पापस्य कर्मणः | निरयेष्वेव पतनम् यथा दुष्कृतकर्मणः || ६-६३-३

"How a doer of wicked deeds indeed falls into damnation, so also a punishment for your sinful act has indeed reached your fast."

यह श्लोक कहता है कि पाप कर्म का फल शीघ्र ही मिलता है, जैसे बुरे कर्म करने वाले को नरक में गिरना पड़ता है।

प्रथमम् वै महाराज कृत्यमेतदचिन्तितम् | केवलम् वीर्यदर्पेणनानुबन्धो विचिन्तितः || ६-६३-४

"O emperor! This course of action was not excepted by you at first. You did not conceive this consequence, only because of your sheer arrogance of power."

हे महाराज, यह कार्य बिना सोचे-समझे किया गया है। केवल बल के घमंड में इसके परिणामों पर विचार नहीं किया गया।

यः पश्चात्पूर्वकार्याणि कुर्यादैश्वर्यमास्थितः | पूर्वं चोत्तरकार्याणि न स वेद नयानयौ || ६-६३-५

"He who, abiding in power, performs duties to be done earlier at a later stage and duties to be done later, at an early stage, does not know what is a right course and what is a wrong course."

जो ऐश्वर्य पाकर पहले के काम पीछे करता है और बाद के काम पहले कर देता है, वह न तो लाभ जानता है और न हानि।

देशकालविहीनानि कर्माणि विपरीतवत् | क्रियमाणानि दुष्यन्ति हवीम्ष्यप्रयतेष्विव || ६-६३-६

"Action done perversely, regardless of space and time, get spoiled like offering oblations without properly making the fire well-prepared."

देश और काल से रहित कर्म, अयोग्य व्यक्तियों द्वारा किए गए यज्ञ की तरह, व्यर्थ हो जाते हैं। अर्थात्, सही समय और स्थान पर न किए गए कार्य सफल नहीं होते।

त्रयाणाम् पञ्चधा योगम् कर्मणाम् यः प्रपद्यते | सचिवैः समयम् कृत्वा स सम्यगभिवर्तते || ६-६३-७

"He, who acts according to an agreement done with his counsellors, considering three types of duties*, by harassing five types of means**, moves along a right course."

जो तीन प्रकार के कर्मों को पाँच प्रकार से जोड़ता है और मंत्रियों के साथ समय पर कार्य करता है, वह भली-भाँति सफल होता है।

यथागमम् च यो राजा समयम् च चिकीर्षति | बुध्यते सचिवैर्बुद्ध्या सुहृदश्चानुपश्यति || ६-६३-८

"A king who wishes to execute am agreement as per law, understands it through his own intellect as well as the counsellors and discovers it through his friends, is on a right course."

जो राजा शास्त्रों के अनुसार आचरण करता है, समय को पहचानता है, और बुद्धिमान मंत्रियों तथा मित्रों की सलाह को समझता है, वह सफल होता है।

धर्ममर्थम् च कामम् च सर्वान्वा रक्षसाम् पते | भजते पुरुषः काले त्रिणि द्वन्द्वानि वा पुनः || ६-६३-९

"O king of demons! A man resorts to virtue or worldly gain or pleasure or all the three together or a twin combination of virtue and worldly gain or virtue and pleasure or worldly gain and pleasure or worldly gain and pleasure, according to an appointed time*."

धर्म, अर्थ और काम इन तीनों को मनुष्य समय आने पर प्राप्त करता है, या फिर इन तीनों को एक साथ भी प्राप्त कर सकता है।

त्रिषु चैतेषु यच्छ्रेष्ठम् श्रुत्वा तन्नावबुध्यते | राजा वा राजमात्रो वा व्यर्थम् तस्य बहु श्रुतम् || ६-६३-१०

"That sovereign king or crown prince, who, having heard which one is the best out of these three but does not keep it in mind, his extensive learning would be in vain."

यह श्लोक कहता है कि यदि कोई राजा या रानी तीन में से सबसे श्रेष्ठ बात को सुनकर भी नहीं समझ पाता, तो उसका बहुत सारा ज्ञान व्यर्थ है।

उपप्रदानम् सान्त्वम् च भेदम् काले च विक्रमम् | योगम् च रक्षसाम् श्रेष्ठ तावुभौ च नयानयौ || ६-६३-११ काले धर्मार्थकामान्यः सम्मन्त्य्र सचिवैह् सह | निषेवेतात्मवान् लोके न स व्यसनमाप्नुयात् || ६-६३-१२

"O the foremost of demons! Whosoever deliberates with his counsellors and resorts to an act of with his counsellors and resorts to an act of bestowing gifts or conciliation or sowing dissension at appropriate occasion or exhibits valour or resorts to them all together or takes recourse to both right action and the reverse of it at the right time or pursues virtue or worldly gain or pleasure at the appropriate time, that intelligent person never confronts a misfortune in this world."

हितकारी परिणाम को देखकर, राजा को चाहिए कि वह अपने लिए कार्य करे, जो अर्थशास्त्र के ज्ञाता और बुद्धिमान मंत्रियों के साथ मिलकर किया जाए।

अनभिज्ज़्नाय शास्त्रार्थान् पुरुषाः पशुबुद्धयः | प्रागल्भ्याद्वक्त्मिच्छिन्ति मन्त्रेष्वभ्यन्तरीकृताः || ६-६३-१४

"Men with brutal ideas, who are initiated in discussions, aspire to tell haughty things, without fully knowing the precepts of the scriptures."

जो लोग शास्त्रों के अर्थ को नहीं जानते, वे पशुओं के समान बुद्धि वाले होते हैं। वे अपनी मूर्खता के कारण ही मंत्रों के भीतर छिपी बातों को कहने का साहस करते हैं।

अशास्त्रविदुषाम् तेषाम् कार्यम् नाभिहितं वचः | अर्थशास्त्रानभिज्ञानाम् विपुलाम् श्रियमिच्छताम् || ६-६३-१५

"The words spoken by those who did not know the scriptures, who do not recollect the books dealing with practical life and who covet for abundant wealth are not to be implemented."

जो शास्त्र का ज्ञान नहीं रखते और अर्थशास्त्र को नहीं समझते, वे यदि बहुत धन चाहते हैं तो उनका कथन व्यर्थ है।

अहितम् च हिताकारम् धार्ष्ट्याज्जल्पन्ति ये नराः | अवश्यम् मन्त्रबाह्यास्ते कर्तव्याः कृत्यदूषकाः || ६-६३-१६

"Those men who talk with audacity, some inimical things in a friendly way, are to be kept out of deliberations, as they certainly spoil the work to be done."

जो लोग हितकारी बात को भी अहितकारी समझकर, दुस्साहस से बोलते हैं, वे कार्य को दूषित करने वाले होते हैं और उन्हें अवश्य ही मंत्रणा से बाहर कर देना चाहिए।

विनाशयन्तो भर्तारम् सहिताः शत्रुभिर्बुधैः | विपरीतानि कृत्यानि कारयन्तीह मन्त्रिणः || ६-६३-१७

"Some counsellors, colluding with some learned adversaries, spoil their king and make them do wrong deeds."

यहाँ श्लोक का सरल हिंदी अनुवाद दिया गया है: बुद्धिमान मंत्री, जो शत्रुओं के साथ मिलकर काम करते हैं, वे अपने स्वामी का विनाश करते हुए विपरीत कार्य करवाते हैं।

तान् भर्ता मित्रसम्काशानमित्रान् मन्त्रनिर्णये | व्यवहारेण जानीयात्सचिवानुपसम्हितान् || ६-६३-१८

"The king should make-out those ministers who have been transformed by the enemy to their side (through bribery and other things) and are enemies though looking like friends, through their conduct when a final decision is being taken after deliberation."

वह राजा अपने मंत्रियों को, जो मित्र के समान प्रतीत होते हैं, मंत्रणा और व्यवहार के द्वारा जान लेता है।

चपलस्येह कृत्यानि सहसानुप्रधावतः | चिद्रमन्ये प्रपद्यन्ते क्रौञ्चस्य खमिव द्विजाः || ६-६३-१९

"Outsiders find out the fickleness of a ruler, who is led away by false appearances and quickly performs the acts, as birds discover the hole (made by the arrow of Skanda, the commander-in-chief of gods) in the Kruancha mountain."

जो व्यक्ति शत्रु को तुच्छ समझकर अपनी रक्षा नहीं करता, वह अनेक कष्टों को प्राप्त होता है और अपने पद से भी गिर जाता है।

यदुक्तमिह ते पूर्वम् क्रियतामनुजेन च | तदेव नो हितम् वाक्यम् यदिच्छसि च तत्कुरु || ६-६३-२१

"That advice which was tendered to you earlier by vibhishana is beneficial to us. Do whatever you wish to do."

जो बात पहले कही गई है, मनुष्य को वही करनी चाहिए। वही हमारे लिए हितकर है, यदि तुम वही चाहते हो तो वही करो।

तत्तु श्रुत्वा दशग्रीवः कुम्भकर्णस्य भाषितम् | भ्रुकुटिम् चैव संचक्रे क्रुद्धश्चैनमभाषत || ६-६३-२२

On hearing those words of Kumbhakarna, Ravana, on his part, twisted his eye-brows in anger and spoke the following words:

यह सुनकर, रावण, कुम्भकर्ण की बात से क्रोधित होकर, भौंहें सिकोड़कर उससे बोला।

मन्यो गुरुरिवाचार्यः कि माम् त्वमनुशाससे | किमेवम् वाक्ष्रमम् कृत्वा काले युक्तम् विधीयताम् || ६-६३-२३

"Why are you advising me like a venerable great teacher? What is the use in getting wearied of your speech? Let a work, most befitting of time, be performed."

मनुष्य का गुरु आचार्य के समान होता है, क्या तुम मुझे अनुशासित नहीं करते? क्या इस प्रकार अक्षर को जानकर, समय आने पर उचित कार्य नहीं करना चाहिए?

विभ्रमाच्चित्तमोहाद्वा बलवीर्याश्रयेण वा | नाभिपन्नमिदानीम् यद्व्यर्था तस्य पुनः कथा || ६-६३-२४

"Now, it is a waste to tell again of that act which was wrongly done before, either by mistake or by an illusion of mind or by taking shelter in strength and prowess."

मन के भ्रम, मोह या बल-वीर्य के आश्रय से जो बात अब तक सिद्ध नहीं हुई, उसकी फिर क्या कथा कहनी।

अस्मिन् काले तु यद्युक्तम् तदिदानीम् विचिन्त्यताम् | गतम् तु नानुशोचन्ति गतम् तु गतमेव हि || ६-६३-२५

"Let whatever be appropriate at this moment be thought of now. Wise men do not repent over the past. Past is indeed but the past."

इस समय जो कहा गया है, उस पर अब विचार किया जाए। जो बीत गया, उसका शोक नहीं करना चाहिए, क्योंकि बीता हुआ तो बीत ही गया है।

ममापनयजं दुःखम् विक्रमेण समीकुरु | यदि खल्वस्ति मे स्नेहो विक्रमम् वाधिगच्छसि || ६-६३-२६ यदि कार्यम् ममैतत्ते हृदि कार्यतमम् मतम् |

"If you have affection indeed for me or if you discover your own prowess and if you think it fit in your heart that my work is to be done very much, you nullify the hardship, born out of my wicked conduct, by your prowess."

हे वीर, यदि तुम मुझसे स्नेह करते हो या मेरा कार्य अपने हृदय में सबसे महत्वपूर्ण मानते हो, तो मेरे दुःख को अपने पराक्रम से दूर करो।

स सुहृद्यो विपन्नार्थम् दीनमभ्युपपद्यते || ६-६३-२७ स बन्धुर्योऽपनीतेषु साहाय्यायोपकल्पते |

"He who rescues an afflicted soul, whose fortune is ruined, he is the real friend. He who is ready at hand to help those who have deviated from the right course, is a kinsman."

वह सच्चा मित्र है जो विपत्ति में पड़े हुए दीन व्यक्ति की सहायता करता है। वही बंधु है जो संकट में पड़े लोगों के लिए सहायक सिद्ध होता है।

तमथैवम् ब्रुवाणम् स वचनम् धीरदारुणम् || ६-६३-२८ रुष्ट्ऽयमिति विज्ञाय शनैः श्लक्ष्णमुवाच ह |

Thereupon, hearing those deeply harsh words spoken by Ravana and understanding that he is quite enraged, Kumbhakarna spoke slowly and smoothly.

यह सुनकर कि वह वीर पुरुष क्रोधित हो गया है, उसने धीरे से और कोमलता से उत्तर दिया।

अतीव हि समालक्ष्य भ्रातरम् क्षुभितेन्द्रियम् || ६-६३-२९ कुम्भकर्णः शनैर्वाक्यम् बभाषे परिसान्त्वयन् |

Observing that his brother is highly perturbed and excited of his senses, Kumbhakarna, while consoling him, gently spoke the following words:

कुम्भकर्ण ने अपने व्याकुल भाई को देखकर, उसे धीरज बंधाते हुए धीरे-धीरे कहा।

शृणु राजन्नवहितो मम वाक्यमरिंदम || ६-६३-३० अलम् राक्षसराजेन्द्र सम्तापमुपपद्य ते | रोषम् च सम्परित्यज्य स्वस्थो चवितुमर्हसि || ६-६३-३१

"O king, the annihilator of adversaries! Listen to my words attentively. O emperor of demons! Enough of your giving way to the anguish. Abandoning your anger completely, you ought to be your normal self again."

हे शत्रुदमनकारी राजा, मेरी बात ध्यान से सुनो। हे राक्षसों के राजा, तुम्हें इतना दुखी और क्रोधित नहीं होना चाहिए। तुम्हें शांत होकर विचार करना चाहिए।

नैतन्मनसि कर्तव्यम् मयि जीवति पार्थिव | तमहम् नाशयिष्यामि यत्कृते परितप्येते || ६-६३-३२

"O king! Until I live, this idea should not be formed in your mind. I shall destroy him, for whose account, you are feeling anguished."

हे पार्थिव, मेरे जीवित रहते हुए ऐसा विचार मन में मत लाना। जिसके कारण तुम दुखी हो रहे हो, मैं उसका नाश कर दूंगा।

अवश्यम् च हितम् वाच्यम् सर्वावस्थाम् गतम् मया | बन्धुभावादभिहितम् भ्रातृस्नेहाच्च पार्थिव || ६-६३-३३

"O king! In whatever situation you are placed, I have to give certainly a good advice to you. I gave this advice, because of our relation and brotherly affection."

अवश्य ही, मैं आपकी सहायता कर सकता हूँ। **सरल हिंदी अनुवाद:** सभी परिस्थितियों में, मुझे तुम्हारा हित ही कहना चाहिए। हे पार्थिव, मैंने यह सब भाईचारे और स्नेह से कहा है।

सदृशम् यच्च कालेऽस्मिन् कर्तुम् स्नेहेन बन्धुना | शत्रूणाम् कदनम् पश्य क्रियमाणम् मया रणे || ६-६३-३४

"See that which is to be done and this juncture, out of affection by a brother, viz. the destruction of adversaries in battle, will be done by me."

इस श्लोक का सरल हिंदी अनुवाद इस प्रकार है: मेरे प्रिय बंधु, इस समय मेरे द्वारा युद्ध में शत्रुओं का जो संहार किया जा रहा है, उसे देखो। यह मेरे स्नेह का ही परिणाम है।

अद्य पश्य महाबाहो मया समरमूर्धनि | हते रामे सहभ्रात्रा द्रवन्तीम् हरिवाहिनीम् || ६-६३-३५

"See today, O mighty armed king, the fleeing army of monkeys and Rama along with his brother being killed by me in the fore-front of the battle-field."

हे महाबाहो राम! आज देखो, युद्ध के मध्य में, मेरे द्वारा मेरे भाई के साथ मारे जाने पर, हरि की सेना भाग रही है।

अद्य रामस्य तद्दृष्ट्वा मयानीतम् रणाच्छिरः | सुखि भव महाबाहो सीता भवतु दुःखिता || ६-६३-३६

"O the mighty armed! Be happy by seeing that Rama's head, which I shall bring today from the battle. Let Seetha be unhappy."

हे महाबाहु राम, आज युद्ध से आपके द्वारा लाए गए उस सिर को देखकर मैं सुखी हुआ हूँ, और सीता दुखी हों।

अद्य रामस्य पश्यन्तु निधनम् सुमहत्प्रियम् | लङ्कायाम् राक्षसाः सर्वे ये ते निहतबान्धवाः || ६-६३-३७

"Let all those demons in Lanka, whose relatives have died in battle, witness the death of the most beloved Rama today."

आज लंका में राम के प्रिय पुत्र का महान अंत देखो। वहाँ के सभी राक्षस, जिनके बंधु मारे गए हैं, उन्हें देखो।

अद्य शोकपरीतानाम् स्वबन्धुवधशोचिनाम् | शत्रोर्युधि विनाशेन करोम्यश्रुप्रमार्जनम् || ६-६३-३८

"Today, I shall do the act of wiping off tears of demons, who have been afflicted with grief and lamenting because of the destruction of their relatives in combat by the adversaries."

आज अपने बंधुओं की मृत्यु से दुखी लोगों के लिए, मैं युद्ध में शत्रु के विनाश से उनके आँसू पोंछता हूँ।

अद्य पर्वतसम्काशम् ससूर्यमिव तोयदम् | विकीर्णम् पश्य समरे सुग्रीवम् प्लवगेश्वरम् || ६-६३-३९

"See today in battle, the mountain-like Sugreeva, the king of monkeys, looking like a cloud illuminated by the sun, thrown about, dissipated."

यहाँ श्लोक का सरल हिंदी अनुवाद दिया गया है: आज युद्धभूमि में, सूर्य के समान चमकते हुए, बादल की तरह फैले हुए वानरराज सुग्रीव को देखो।

कथम् च राक्षसैरेभिर्मया च परिसान्त्वितः | जिघांसुभिर्दाशरथिम् व्यथसे त्वमिहानघ || ६-६३-४०

"O faultless Ravana! Why are you agitated now, when you are being consoled by those demons and by me, who are desirous of killing Rama?"

हे निष्पाप! इन राक्षसों द्वारा और मेरे द्वारा भी समझाए जाने पर, तुम यहाँ दशरथपुत्र (राम) को मारने की इच्छा रखने वाले होकर क्यों व्यथित हो रहे हो?

माम् निहत्य किल त्वाम् हि निहनिष्यति राघवः | नाहामात्मनि सम्तापम् गच्छेयम् राक्षसाधिप || ६-६३-४१

"O king of demons! Rama will indeed kill you, only after killing me. On that account, I do not regret for myself."

राक्षसों के राजा, यदि तुम मुझे मार डालोगे, तो राम तुम्हें भी मार डालेंगे। इसलिए, मैं अपने मन में कोई दुःख नहीं चाहता।

कामम् त्विदानीमपि माम् व्यादिश त्वम् परम्तप | न परः प्रेक्षणीयस्ते युद्धायातुलविक्रम || ६-६३-४२

"O Ravana, having unequal prowess and the annihilator of enemies! You can command me, even now, as you wish. No other person need be sought, for a dispatch to the battle."

हे शत्रुतापी, तुम मुझे युद्ध के लिए आज्ञा दो, क्योंकि अतुलनीय पराक्रम वाले तुम युद्ध के लिए ही बने हो।

अहमुत्सादयिष्यामि शत्रूंस्तव महाबलान् | यदि शक्रो यदि यमो यदि पावकमारुतौ || ६-६३-४३ तानहम् योधयिष्यामि कुबेरवरुणावपि |

"I can destroy your enemies, who have a great strength. I can engage in combat with all those persons, whether he is Indra or Yama or the fire-god to the wind-god or even Varuna."

मैं तुम्हारे शक्तिशाली शत्रुओं का नाश करूँगा, चाहे वे इंद्र हों, यम हों, या अग्नि और वायु हों। मैं कुबेर और वरुण जैसे देवताओं से भी युद्ध करूँगा।

गिरिमात्रशरीरस्य शितशूलधरस्य मे || ६-६३-४४ नर्दतस्तीक्ष्णदम्ष्ट्रस्य बिभीयाद्वै पुरंदरः |

"Indra also gets frightened of me, having a mountain-sized body wielding a sharpened pike, having pointed tusks and even as I roar."

पर्वत के समान विशाल शरीर वाले, ठंडे भाले को धारण करने वाले, तीखे दाँतों वाले मेरे गर्जन से इंद्र भी भयभीत हो जाएँगे।

अथवा त्यक्तशस्त्रस्य मृद्नतस्तरसा रिपून् || ६-६३-४५ न मे प्रतिमुखः कश्चित् स्थातुम् शक्तो जिजीविषुः |

"Even otherwise, no one can stand alive in front of me, who is even weaponless and smashing the enemies by me strength alone."

अथवा, यदि कोई शत्रु शस्त्र त्याग कर भय से कांपता हुआ मेरे सामने आए, तो जीवित रहने की इच्छा वाला कोई भी व्यक्ति मेरा सामना करने में सक्षम नहीं होगा।

नैव शक्त्या न गदया नासिना निशितैः शरैः || ६-६३-४६ हस्ताभ्यामेव सम्रब्धो हनिष्याम्यपि वज्रिणम् |

"Without using a javelin or a mace or a sword or sharp arrows, I myself, on getting excited, can kill even Indra, with my bare hands."

मैं अपनी शक्ति, गदा, या तीखे बाणों से नहीं, बल्कि केवल अपने हाथों से ही वज्रधारी इंद्र को भी परास्त कर दूंगा।

यदि मे मुष्टिवेगम् स राघवोऽद्य सहिष्यति || ६-६३-४७ ततः पास्यन्ति बाणौघा रुधिरम् राघवस्य मे |

"If Rama today survives even after facing the rapid blows of my fists, then my flood of arrows will drink the blood of Rama."

यदि आज वह राघव मेरी मुट्ठी के वेग को सहन कर लेगा, तो मेरे बाणों की धाराएँ राघव के रक्त को पी लेंगी।

चिन्तया तप्यसे राजन् किमर्थम् मयि तिष्ठति || ६-६३-४८ सोऽहम् शत्रुविनाशाय तव निर्यातुमुद्यतः |

"O king! When I exist, why do you suffer from anxiety? Here, I am ready to sally forth for the destruction of your enemies."

हे राजन, तुम किसलिए चिंता से दुखी हो रहे हो? मैं तुम्हारे शत्रु के विनाश के लिए जाने को तैयार हूँ।

मुञ्च रामद्भयम् घोरम् निहनिष्यामि सम्युगे || ६-६३-४९ राघवम् लक्ष्मणम् चैव सुग्रीवम् च महाबलम् | हनूमन्तम् च रक्षोघ्नम् येन लङ्का प्रदीपिता || ६-६३-५०

"Be free from the terrific fear of Rama. In the battle, I will kill Rama, Lakshmana, the mighty Sugreeva and even Hanuma, by whom the city of Lanka was burnt off and the demons were killed."

यहाँ संस्कृत श्लोक का सरल हिंदी अनुवाद दिया गया है: हे राम, इस भयंकर भय को छोड़ दो, मैं युद्ध में तुम्हें, लक्ष्मण को, महाबली सुग्रीव को और रावण के संहारक हनुमान को, जिन्होंने लंका को जलाया था, मार डालूंगा।

हरींश्च भक्षयिष्यामि सम्युगे समुपस्थिते | असाधारणमिच्छमि तव दातुम् महद्यशः || ६-६३-५१

"I shall devour the monkeys in battle, which is near at hand. I wish to contribute a tremendous and extraordinary reputation for you."

युद्ध उपस्थित होने पर मैं सिंहों को भी खा जाऊंगा। मैं तुम्हें असाधारण और महान यश देना चाहता हूँ।

यदिचेन्द्राद्भयम् राजन्यदि चापि स्वयम्भुवः | ततोऽहम् नाशयिष्यामि नैशम् तम इवांशुमान् || ६-६३-५२ अपि देवाः शयिष्यान्ते मयि क्रुद्धे महीतले |

'O king! If you have a fear for Indra or even for Brahma, I shall remove it then, as the sun removes darkness of the night. When I am enraged, even celestials will lay down on the floor."

हे राजन, यदि इंद्र या ब्रह्मा भी मुझे क्रोधित करें, तो मैं सूर्य के प्रकाश से रात्रि के अंधकार को नष्ट करने की तरह उन्हें नष्ट कर दूंगा। मेरे क्रोधित होने पर देवता भी पृथ्वी पर सो जाएंगे।

यमम् च शमयिष्यामि भक्षयिष्यामि पावकम् || ६-६३-५३ आदित्यम् पातयिष्यामि सनक्षत्रम् महीतले |

"I shall extinguish even Yama the god of death. I shall devour the fire-god. I shall cause the sun along with the stars to fall asunder on the floor."

यमराज को शांत कर दूंगा, अग्नि को भक्षण कर लूंगा। सूर्य को नक्षत्रों सहित पृथ्वी पर गिरा दूंगा।

शतक्रतुम् वधिष्यामि पास्यामि वरुणालयम् || ६-६३-५४ पर्वतांश्चूर्णयिष्यामि दारयिष्यामि मेदिनीम् |

"I shall kill Indra. I shall drink away the ocean. I shall crush the mountains into a powder. I shall tear up the earth."

मैं इंद्र को मारूंगा और समुद्र को पी जाऊंगा। मैं पर्वतों को चूर्ण-चूर्ण कर दूंगा और पृथ्वी को फाड़ दूंगा।

दीर्घकालम् प्रसुप्तस्य कुम्भकर्णस्य विक्रमम् || ६-६३-५५ अद्य पश्यन्तु भूतानि भक्ष्यमाणानि सर्वशः | नन्विदम् त्रिदिवम् सर्वमाहारस्य न पूर्यते || ६-६३-५६

"Let all the living beings, being devoured from all sides see today the prowess of Kumbhakarna, who slept for a long time. The entire heaven is not enough for my food."

बहुत समय से सोए हुए कुम्भकर्ण की शक्ति को आज सब प्राणी देखें। यह सारा त्रिलोक भी उसके भोजन की पूर्ति नहीं कर सकता।

वधेन ते दाशरथेः सुखावहम् | सुखम् समाहर्तुमहम् व्रजामि | निहत्य रामम् सह लक्ष्मणेन | खादामि सर्वान् हरियूथमुख्यान् || ६-६३-५७

"I am going to bring you happiness, conferring you a delight by the destroyal of Rama. Having killed Rama along with Lakshmana, I shall devour all the chiefs of army of monkeys."

हे दाशरथि राम, तुम्हारे वध से मुझे सुख मिलेगा। मैं लक्ष्मण सहित तुम्हें मारकर, सभी वानर सेनापतियों को खा जाऊंगा।

रमस्व राजन् पिब चाद्य वारुणीम् | कुरुष्व कृत्यानि विनीय दुःखम् | मयाद्य रामे गमिते यमक्षयम् | चिराय सीता वशगा भविष्यति || ६-६३-५८

"O king! You make merry today and drink wine. Throw away your agony and perform your usual duties. While I send Rama to the world of Yama, the god of death, Seetha will be subservient to your after a log time."

हे राजन, आज तुम वारुणी (मदिरा) का पान करो और सुख का अनुभव करो। दुःख को दूर करके अपने कर्तव्य पूरे करो। आज जब मैं, राम, यमलोक को चला जाऊँगा, तब सीता चिरकाल तक तुम्हारे वश में रहेगी।
