प्रतिप्रयाते काकुत्थ्से महेन्द्रः पाकशासनः | अब्रवीत् परमप्रीतो राघवं प्राञ्जलिं स्थितम् || ६-१२०-१

When Dasaratha returned, the Lord Indra, the destroyer of Paka the demon, was very much pleased and spoke to Rama, who stood there with his oined palms.

जब काकुत्स्थ (राम) लौट रहे थे, तब देवराज इंद्र, जो पाकशासन (इंद्र) भी कहलाते हैं, अत्यंत प्रसन्न होकर हाथ जोड़े खड़े राघव (राम) से बोले।

अमोघं दर्शनं राम तवास्माकं नरर्षभ | प्रीतियुक्ताः स्म तेन त्वं ब्रूहि यन्मनसेप्सितम् || ६-१२०-२

"O Rama, the foremost among men! Your sight of us, should not go in vain. Therefore, tell us whatever is desired by you."

हे नरश्रेष्ठ राम, आपका दर्शन हमारे लिए अत्यंत फलदायी है। हम आपसे प्रेम करते हैं, इसलिए जो भी आप चाहते हैं, वह कहें।

एवमुक्तो महेन्द्रेण प्रसन्नेन महात्मना | सुप्रसन्नमना हृष्टो वचनम् प्राह राघवः || ६-१२०-३

Hearing the words of the great souled Indra the lord of celestials, after having been pleased, Rama with the most placid mind spoke the following words with rejoice:

इंद्र के ऐसा कहने पर, प्रसन्नचित्त महात्मा राम ने अत्यंत प्रसन्न मन से यह वचन कहा।

यदि प्रीतिः समुत्पन्ना मयि ते विबुधेश्वर | वक्ष्यामि कुरु मे सत्यम् वचनं वदतां वर || ६-१२०-४

"O the foremst among the eloquent! O Indra! If you have affection in me, I shall speak out my words. Make my words real."

हे देवताओं के स्वामी, यदि मुझमें आपकी प्रीति उत्पन्न हुई है, तो हे वक्ताओं में श्रेष्ठ, मेरी यह प्रतिज्ञा सत्य है, इसे स्वीकार करें।

मम हेतोः पराक्रान्ता ये गता यमसादनम् | ते सर्वे जीवितं प्राप्य समुत्तिष्ठन्तु वानराः || ६-१२०-५

"Let all the monkeys, who reached the abode of death, after displaying their energyfor

मेरे लिए युद्ध में मारे गए सभी वानर यमलोक से लौटकर पुनः जीवन प्राप्त करें।

मत्कृते विप्रयुक्ता ये पुत्रैर्दारैश्च वानराः | तान् प्रीतमनसः सर्वान् द्रष्टुमिच्छामि मानद || ६-१२०-६

"O the bestower of honour! I wish to see all those monkeys, who for my sake, were removed from their sons and wives, be delighted at heart."

हे सम्माननीय, जो पुत्रों और पत्नियों से बिछुड़े हुए वानर मेरे लिए हैं, उन सभी को मैं प्रसन्न मन से देखना चाहता हूँ।

विक्रान्ताश्चापि शूराश्च न मृत्युं गणयन्ति च | कृतयत्ना विपन्नाश्च जीवयैनान् पुरंदर || ६-१२०-७

"They were all valiant, proving their energies and did not take their death into account. They made their strenuous efforts and died. O Indra! Restore their lives to them."

यह श्लोक कहता है कि शूरवीर और पराक्रमी योद्धा मृत्यु से नहीं डरते। वे अपना सर्वश्रेष्ठ प्रयास करते हैं और यदि वे हार भी जाते हैं, तो भी वे अपने जीवन को व्यर्थ नहीं जाने देते।

मत्प्रियेष्वभिरक्ताश्च न मृत्युं गणयन्ति ये | त्वत्प्रसादात्समेयुस्ते वरमेतमहं वृणे || ६-१२०-८

"Those mokeys - who coutned death as nothing and who were fond of doing favour to me - let them get re-united with their near and dear ones by your grace. I seek this boon of you."

जो मेरे प्रियजनों से प्रेम करते हैं और मृत्यु से भयभीत नहीं होते, वे आपकी कृपा से मुझे प्राप्त होंगे। मैं यही वरदान माँगता हूँ।

नीरुजो निर्व्रणांश्चैव संपन्नबलपौरुषान् | गोलाङ्गूलांस्तथर्क्षांश्च द्रष्टुमिच्छामि मानद || ६-१२०-९

"O bestower of honour! I wish to see the monkeys and bears, free from wounds and pains, with augmented strength and valour."

हे माननीय, मैं निरोगी, घाव रहित, बलवान और पराक्रमी बैलों, बन्दरों और भालुओं को देखना चाहता हूँ।

अकाले चापि पुष्पाणि मूलानि च फलानि च | नद्यश्च विमलास्तत्र तिष्ठेयुर्यत्र वानराः || ६-१२०-१०

"Wherever the aforesaid monkeys live, let there be rivers with crystal-clear water, flowers, roots and fruits even in an off-season."

यहाँ संस्कृत श्लोक का सरल हिंदी अनुवाद दिया गया है: जहाँ बंदर रहते हैं, वहाँ समय से पहले भी फूल, फल और जड़ें उग आती हैं, और नदियाँ भी निर्मल हो जाती हैं।

श्रुत्वा तु वचनं तस्य राघवस्य महात्मनः | महेन्द्रह् प्रत्युवाचेदं वचनं प्रीतिसंयुतम् || ६-१२०-११

Hearing the words of that great-souled Rama, Indra the lord of celestials endowed as he was with delight, again spoke the following words:

इंद्र ने महात्मा राम के वचन सुनकर, प्रेम से भरकर यह उत्तर दिया।

महानयं वरस्तात यस्त्वयोक्तो रघुत्तम | द्विर्मया नोक्तपुर्वं च तस्मादेवद्भविष्यति || ६-१२०-१२

"O beloved Rama! This boon, which has been sought by you is hard to grant. No offer has, however, been revised by me in the past. Therefore this will come to be."

हे पितामह, आपने जो यह महान वरदान माँगा है, वह अत्यंत उत्तम है। मैंने ऐसा वरदान पहले कभी नहीं माँगा, इसलिए यह अवश्य पूरा होगा।

समुत्तिष्ठन्तु ते सर्वे हता ये युधि राक्षसैः | ऋक्षाश्च सह गोपुच्छैर्निकृत्ताननबाहवः || ६-१२०-१३

"Let all those monkeys and bears along with long-tailed monkeys, who have been killed in battle, by the demons and whose heads and arms have been severed, be alive and active again."

युद्ध में राक्षसों द्वारा मारे गए सभी भालू और गायों के पूंछ वाले जीव उठ खड़े हों, जिनके सिर और हाथ काट दिए गए थे।

नीरुजो निर्व्रिणाश्चव संपन्नबलपौरुषाः | समुत्थास्यन्ति हरयः सुप्ता निद्राक्षये यथा || ६-१२०-१४

"Without any ill-health andwounds and with boosted strength and valour, the monkeys will srise again, as those fallen asleep would do at the end of their sleep."

स्वस्थ, प्रसन्न और बलवान सिंह जैसे सोकर उठने के बाद पुनः उठ खड़े होते हैं, वैसे ही वे भी उठ खड़े होंगे।

सुहृद्भिर्बान्धवैश्चव ज्ञातिभिः स्वजनेन च | सर्व एव समेष्यन्ति संयुक्ताः परया मुदा || ६-१२०-१५

"All of them, full of delight, will get re-united with their friends, relatives, kinsmen and family members."

मित्रों, संबंधियों, परिचितों और अपने लोगों के साथ मिलकर, सभी लोग अत्यंत प्रसन्नता से एक साथ मिल जाएंगे।

अकाले पुष्पशबलाः फलवन्तश्च पादपाः | भविष्यन्ति महेष्वास नद्यश्च नलिलायुताः || ६-१२०-१६

"O the wielder of a great bow! The trees will look colourful with flowers and fruits even in the off-season. Rivers too will remain constantly with water."

यहाँ संस्कृत श्लोक का सरल हिंदी अनुवाद दिया गया है: हे महान धनुर्धर, समय से पहले ही वृक्ष फूलों और फलों से लद जाएंगे और नदियाँ जल से परिपूर्ण हो जाएंगी।

सव्रणैः प्रथमं गात्रैरिदानीं निर्व्रणैः समैः | ततः समुत्थिताः सर्वे सुप्त्वेव हरियूथपाः || ६-१२०-१७ बभूवुर्वानराः सर्वे किं न्वेतदिति विस्मिताः |

Thereupon, all those monkey-warriors got up, as if from a sleep, with all their limbs completely healed of wounds. All the monkeys felt surprised, saying to one another "What miracle is this?"

सभी वानर, जो पहले घावों से पीड़ित थे, अब घाव रहित और स्वस्थ होकर, जैसे नींद से जागे हों, वैसे ही खड़े हो गए। वे सब आश्चर्यचकित थे कि यह क्या हुआ।

काकुत्थ्सं परिपूर्णार्थं दृष्ट्वा सर्वे सुरोत्तमाः || ६-१२०-१८ अब्रुवन् परमप्रीताः स्तुत्वा रामं सलक्ष्मणम् |

Seeing Rama, whose wish has been fully realised, all the foremost of celestials, with a great delight, spoke praisingly to Rama and Lakshmana:

यह श्लोक बताता है कि काकुत्स्थ (राम) को पूर्णता से युक्त देखकर सभी श्रेष्ठ देवता अत्यंत प्रसन्न हुए। उन्होंने राम और लक्ष्मण की स्तुति करते हुए कहा।

गच्छायोध्यामितो राजन् विसर्जय च वानरान् || ६-१२०-१९ मैथिलीं सान्त्वयस्वैनामनुरक्तां यशस्विनीम् |

"O monarch! Proceed to Ayodhya from here and disband the monkeys. Reassure this illustrious and devoted Seetha."

हे राजन, अब अयोध्या को प्रस्थान करें और वानरों को विदा करें। इस अनुरक्त और यशस्वी मैथिली को सांत्वना दें।

भ्रातरं भरतं पश्य त्वच्छोकाद्व्रतचारिणम् || ६-१२०-२० शत्रुघ्नं च महात्मानं मातृइः सर्वाः परंतप | अभिषेचय चात्मानम् पौरान्गत्वा प्रहर्षय || ६-१२०-२१

"O destroyer of adversaries! See Bharata, your brother, who is practising austerities through grief caused by separation from you, the great-souled Shatrughna and all your mohters. Get yourself consecrated on the throne. Bring rejoice to the citizens, by going there."

हे शत्रुहंता! अपने शोक से विचलित भरत को देखो। महान आत्मा शत्रुघ्न को भी देखो, जो सभी माताओं के प्रिय हैं। जाकर अपना अभिषेक कराओ और प्रजाजनों को आनंदित करो।

एवमुक्त्वा सहस्राक्षो रामं सौमित्रिणा सह | विमानैः सूर्यसंकाशैर्ययौ हृष्टः सुरैह् सह || ६-१२०-२२

Thus speaking to Rama and Lakshmana, Idnra the thousand-eyed god of celestials, having beenpleased, returned to heaven with other gods in their aerial cars, shining liek the sun.

सहस्राक्ष (इंद्र) ने ऐसा कहकर, राम और लक्ष्मण के साथ, सूर्य के समान प्रकाशमान विमानों में बैठकर, देवताओं के साथ प्रसन्नतापूर्वक प्रस्थान किया।

अभिवाद्य च काकुत्थ्सः सर्वांस्तांस्त्रिदशोत्तमान् | लक्ष्मणेन सह भ्रात्रा वासमाज्ञापयत्तदा || ६-१२०-२३

having respectfully saluted all those celestials, Rama along with Lakshmana his brother, then instructed all the monkeys to take rest in their respective places.

श्रीराम ने देवराज इंद्र सहित सभी देवताओं को प्रणाम किया और फिर अपने भाई लक्ष्मण को भी साथ लेकर उन्हें निवास स्थान की आज्ञा दी।

ततस्तु सा लक्ष्मणरानुपालिता | महाचमूर्हृष्टजना यशस्विनी | श्रिया ज्वलन्तीविरराज सर्वतो | निशा प्रणीतेव हि शीतरश्मिना || ६-१२०-२४

Thereupon, that illustrious and mighty army of rejoiced troops, for its part, whichw as protected by Lakshmana and Rama, and was blazing with splendour on all sides, shone brightly like the might, illumined by the moon.

तब लक्ष्मण द्वारा रक्षित, अत्यंत प्रसन्न और यशस्वी विशाल सेना, चंद्रमा द्वारा प्रकाशित रात्रि की तरह, चारों ओर से शोभायमान हो उठी।
