श्रुत्वा हनुमतो वाक्यम् यथावद्भिभाषितम् | रामः प्रीतिसमायुक्तो वाक्यमुत्तरमब्रवीत् || ६-१-१

Touched with joy to hear the words rightly spoken by Hanuman, Rama replied as follows: -

हनुमान के द्वारा कहे गए वचनों को सुनकर, श्री राम अत्यंत प्रसन्न हुए और उन्होंने उत्तर में यह कहा।

कृतम् हनुमता कार्यम् सुमहद्भुवि दुर्लभम् | मनसापि यदन्येन न शक्यम् धरणीतले || ६-१-२

"A very outstanding work, the most arduous in the world has been done by Hanuman, which could not be carried out even in thought by any other on the surface of this earth."

हनुमान ने पृथ्वी पर एक ऐसा महान कार्य किया है जो दूसरों के लिए मन से भी करना अत्यंत कठिन है। यह कार्य वास्तव में दुर्लभ है।

न हि तम् परिपश्यामि यस्तरेत महोदधिम् | अन्यत्र गुरुडाद्वायोरन्यत्र च हनूमतः || ६-१-३

"Indeed, I cannot perceive as such anyone other than Garuda (chief of the feathered race and vehicle of Lord Vishnu), wind- god and Hanuman, who can cross the mighty ocean."

यहाँ श्लोक का सरल हिंदी अनुवाद दिया गया है: मैं ऐसे किसी को नहीं देखता जो इस विशाल सागर को पार कर सके, गरुड़ और वायु के अतिरिक्त, और हनुमान के अतिरिक्त।

देवदानवयक्षाणाम् गन्धर्वोरगरक्षसाम् | अप्रधृष्याम् पुरीम् लङ्काम् रावणेन सुरक्षिताम् || ६-१-४ प्रविष्टः सत्त्वमाश्रित्य जीवन्को नाम निष्क्रमेत् |

"Who can return alive, having entered (once) taking refuge only in self- command, the city of Lanka, which is unconquerable by gods demons and Yakshas and even by Gandharvas, Nagas and ogres and well under the custody of Ravana?"

यह श्लोक कहता है कि देवताओं, दानवों, यक्षों, गंधर्वों, उरगों और राक्षसों के लिए भी अपराजित, रावण द्वारा सुरक्षित लंकापुरी में प्रवेश करके, बलवान होकर कौन जीवित बचकर निकल सकता है?

को विशेत्सुदुराधर्षाम् राक्षसैश्च सुरक्षिताम् || ६-१-५ यो वीर्यबलसम्पन्नो न समः स्याद्धनूमतः |

"Who is able to capture that citadel, by assault, that is exceedingly dangerous to be attacked and which is powerfully guarded by ogres, but one whose courage and valour are equal to Hanuman's?"

जो बलवान और पराक्रमी है, वह उस अत्यंत दुर्धर्ष और राक्षसों से सुरक्षित स्त्री को प्राप्त कर सकता है, जिसके समान कोई नहीं है।

भृत्यकार्यम् हनुमता सुग्रीवस्य कृतम् महत् || ६-१-६ एवम् विधाय स्वबलम् सदृशम् विक्रमस्य च |

"A great act of service has been done by Hanuman to Sugriva thus by exhibiting his strength corresponding to his pace."

हनुमान ने सुग्रीव के लिए बहुत बड़ा कार्य किया। उन्होंने अपनी सेना को विक्रम के योग्य बनाया।

यो हि भृत्यो नियुक्तः सन् भर्त्रा कर्मणि दुष्करे || ६-१-७ कुर्यात्तदुनुरागेण तमहुः पुरुषोत्तमम् |

"That servant to whom his master entrusts a difficult task and who performs it with zeal is said to be a superior person."

जो सेवक अपने स्वामी द्वारा दिए गए कठिन कार्य को प्रेम से करता है, उसे ही उत्तम पुरुष कहा जाता है।

यो नियुक्तः परम् कार्यम् न कुर्यान्नऋपतेः प्रियम् || ६-१-८ भृत्यो युक्तः समर्थश्च तमाहुर्मध्यम् नरम् |

"The one who is ready and capable but who yet does no more than his master extracts from him is called a mediocre person."

जो सेवक राजा के लिए आवश्यक कार्य नहीं करता, और जो समर्थ होते हुए भी राजा का प्रिय कार्य नहीं करता, उसे मध्यम पुरुष कहा जाता है।

नियुक्तो नृपतेः कार्यम् न कुर्याद्यः समाहितः || ६-१-९ भृत्यो युक्तः समर्थश्च तमाहुः पुरुष्धमम् |

"The one who is well and able and yet does not carry out the instructions of his master as directed is said to be the least of men ."

जो सेवक राजा के कार्य को ध्यानपूर्वक नहीं करता, वह योग्य और समर्थ होते हुए भी पुरुषोत्तम नहीं कहलाता।

तन्नियोगे नियुक्तेन कृतम् हनूमता || ६-१-१० न चात्मा लघताम् नीतः सुग्रीवश्चापि तोषितः |

"Through the discovery of Sita's retreat by this faithful messenger, Hanuman has fulfilled the task entrusted to him unfalteringly to the satisfaction of Sugriva and hence there was no diminution to his self."

हनुमान ने उस कार्य को किया जो उन्हें सौंपा गया था। इससे न तो वे स्वयं छोटे हुए और न ही सुग्रीव को अप्रसन्न किया।

अहम् च रघवंशश्च लक्ष्मणश्च महाबलः || ६-१-११ वैदेह्या दर्शनेनाद्य धर्मतः परिरक्षिताः |

"By finding out Sita, the Raghu dynasty as well as myself and the valiant Lakshmana too, have been rightly saved today."

मैं, रघुवंश और महाबली लक्ष्मण, आज वैदेही के दर्शन से धर्मपूर्वक सुरक्षित हैं।

इदम् तु मम दीनस्य मनो भूयः प्रकर्षति || ६-१-१२ यदिहास्य प्रियाक्ष्यातुर्न कुर्मि सदृशम् प्रियम् |

"But it squeezes my conscience further, hopeless as I am, to think that I am not able to do a pleasant act befittingly to the bearer of these good tidings."

यह मेरा दीन मन बार-बार यह सोचकर व्याकुल हो उठता है कि मैं अपनी प्रियतमा के लिए उसके योग्य प्रिय कार्य क्यों नहीं कर पाता।

एष सर्वस्वभूतस्तु परिष्वङ्गो हनुमतः || ६-१-१३ मया कालमिमम् प्राप्य दत्तस्तस्य महात्मनः |

"Let me at least embrace this magnanimous Hanuman since in the present circumstances, this is all that is easily obtained from me."

यह श्लोक हनुमान जी के लिए मेरे द्वारा दिए गए आलिंगन का वर्णन करता है, जो मेरे लिए सर्वस्व के समान है। मैंने इस महान आत्मा को यह आलिंगन उचित समय पर प्रदान किया है।

इत्युक्त्वा प्रीतिहृष्टाङ्गो रामस्तम् परिष्स्वजे || ६-१-१४ हनुमन्तम् कृतात्मानम् क्ऱ्६इतवाक्यमुपागतम् |

Thus saying, Rama vibrating with joy, clasped Hanuman in his arms who, master of himself, his mission fulfilled, had returned.

यह कहकर, प्रेम से प्रसन्न होकर, राम ने उस कृतकृत्य हनुमान को गले लगा लिया, जो उनकी आज्ञा का पालन करके आया था।

ध्यात्वा पुनरुवाचेदम् वचनम् रघुसत्तमः || ६-१-१५ हरीनामीश्वरस्यापि सुग्रीवस्योपशृण्वतः |

After reflecting a while, Rama the great scion of Raghus, again spoke as follows, Sugriva the ruler of monkeys too listening attentively.

ध्यान करके रघुश्रेष्ठ ने सुग्रीव के सुनते हुए ईश्वर के विषय में यह वचन कहा।

सर्वथा सुकृतम् तावत्सीतायाः परिमार्गणम् || ६-१-१६ सागरम् तु समासाद्य पुनर्नष्टम् मनो मम |

"The search for Sita has been performed so much well in all ways. But my mind gets dejected once more, when I behold this vast ocean."

सीता की खोज का प्रयास तो बहुत अच्छा था, परंतु समुद्र तक पहुँचकर मेरा मन फिर से व्याकुल हो गया।

कथम् नाम समुद्रस्य दुष्पारस्य महाम्भसः || ६-१-१७ हरयो दक्षिणम् पारम् गमिष्यन्ति समागताह् |

How can these monkeys put together will reach the southern bank of the ocean, which is so difficult to cross and which contains voluminous water?"

यह श्लोक पूछता है कि कैसे ये सभी वानर मिलकर इस अथाह और पार करना कठिन समुद्र को पार कर पाएंगे।

यद्यप्येष तु वृत्तान्तो वैदेह्या गदितो मम || ६-१-१८ समुद्रपारगमने हरीणाम् किमिहोत्तरम् |

"Having received the tidings of Sita, what can now be done to take the monkeys to the farther side the sea?"

यह वृत्तांत वैदेही (सीता) ने मुझसे कहा था। समुद्र पार करने में वानरों की क्या आवश्यकता है?

इत्युक्त्वा शोकसम्भ्रान्तो रामह् शत्रुनिबर्हणः || ६-१-१९ हनूमन्तम् महाबाहुस्ततो ध्यानमुपागमत् |

Thus speaking to Hanuman, Rama the destroyer of enemies and the mighty armed, was filled with apprehension and then became absorbed in thought.

यह कहकर, शत्रुहंता महाबाहु राम, जो शोक से व्याकुल थे, हनुमान से बोले और फिर ध्यान में लीन हो गए।
